Hi @DaveMani, thank you for this great content about my country Uganda. I wanted to offer an unsolicited summary here for viewers who are planning a Gorilla trekking tour. I have tracked Gorillas twice in two Ugandan National Parks (Mgahinga and Bwindi). 1. Mountain Gorillas in the wild are only found in the Virunga Massif in East Africa. This volcanic region is shared by 3 countries (Uganda, Rwanda, and DRC) 2. Their total population according to recent census stands at approximately 1063. More than 50% live in Uganda at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National (this Park borders DRC) 3. Because of this, you stand a higher chance of encountering Mt. Gorillas in Uganda than Rwanda or DRC. Maghinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda borders Volcanoes National Park in Uganda. 4. A Mt. Gorilla trekking permit costs 50% less in Uganda than in Rwanda. Uganda is 95% safer than DRC (this is a fact not a flex - I wish DRC was safer) About me: I'm the founder of TourPlug - an online marketplace for group and private tours in Africa. We are only a few months old but we are working very first to onboard travel trade parts in 10 destinations in Africa starting with East Africa (our home). I was recently voted among the top 3 young tourism innovators in Africa. Thank you for reading and welcome to Africa.
Thank you for visit Uganda and exposing my country to the rest world. And also letting people outside there know why Uganda is known as "the pearl of Africa ".
As someone who has studied and followed mountain gorillas, this is "hands-down" the best video you guys have ever made! Yes, there are only 1,000 mountain gorillas in the wild to date, but I remember the days when there were only a little over 300. Thanks to the paying tourists, guides, and the park rangers, their numbers are slowly increasing. Thank you so much for this absolutely delightful video!! ❤🦍❤
Hey this means a lot. Thank you so much. I did my best to do a little in the video to make people understand that the gorilla tourism is actually a good thing. ❤️🦍
Proudly Ugandan, proudly African. Thank you Dave and your wife for making this Journey to Uganda. Why didn't i see this channel earlier enough. I have literally watched half of your all your videos the entire day. This is so nice really.
