    Good honest/clear review. This old shoulder of mine is struggling to pull 60 & 70 lbs now. I've been pulling 50 lbs consistently as of late, and my shoulder still feels good, and I was looking in this direction of the Mathews bows. Thanks.

    This is an old guy bow too. I've had 9 shoulder surgeries' do to old injuries. I have a 70 pound bow in my closet...can't shoot it anymore. This bow has caught my interest.

      Absolutely. 2 shoulder injuries 1 surgery making it hard fir an older guy to pull heavier draw weights

    I shoot through deer shooting 43lbs. I can pull a 70lb. bow but at 63 I have shoulder problems. This is not a kids bow, it is fast enough.

    What would the speeds with 400 grain arrow be

  • @woodyousley2712
    @woodyousley2712 Год назад +12

    I wouldn’t consider this a woman’s or kids bow. Draw length is 25.5-30. Not many women have a 30’ inch draw. It could be used for older archers or ones with shoulder issues that refuse to go crossbow.
    Plus the IBO for 50# is a 250 grain arrow. That’s where their speed was rated.

    • @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors
      @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors  Год назад

      I wouldn’t argue that but I know a lot of female and young shooters 25-28 inch draw and I also agree as I stated in the video it would be a wonderful bow for guys that just don’t pull as much weight! Thanks for watching!

    if your arrow placement is right on and your bow and arrow set up in right on ,, how far do you want to pull the arrow out of the dirt ,,, after going through a deer ???? I shoot 47-50 lb,,,,,

    This is not a woman’s or kids or older persons bow. Its a bow for the smart hunter that is saving his/her shoulder for later years. Trad archers are shooting at speeds of 180 -200 and getting pass throughs.

      Veryyyy trueeee orrrrr a bow for a low poundage shooter that is still trying to get higher speeds🤦🏻‍♂️

    A 460-grain arrow is way overkill for a 50-pound bow. I didn't even shoot that much when I was shooting 70lbs. the arrow I was shooting at 70lbs weighed 415 grains and came out of my VXR28 doing 298 fps. I just bought one of these Images and I am shooting a 400 spine Black Eagle Carnivore arrow out of it. I shoot a 27-inch draw length and have been able to get speeds of around 256 fps and the total weight of the arrow I built comes in at 347 grains. running the numbers, I think I have found the best balance for this bow in my opinion. not too light and not too heavy of arrow. when I run the numbers based on my arrow weight and the speed, the bow is putting out more than enough kinetic energy and momentum along with speed to kill a white tail deer. the numbers actually were closer to the light side of being good for larger game. now do I plan to hunt deer with it no I am not, but it will be my dedicated turkey hunting bow. overall, the Image is a great bow and is for anyone that wants a lighter poundage bow. Glad Mathew's brought it out.

    Hello, I am French and I would like to buy a Mathews Image 50# right-handed granite color, length 28.
    I can't find it in France where the deadlines are very long (more than 12 weeks)
    Do you have this bow in stock, and can you send it to France?
    THANK YOU.
    Sincerely.

    In the traditional Community we kill deer all day long at 40 lbs draw weight in a screaming 150 ft per second Arrow... a lightweight compound offers many advantages over that

    IBO Would have been done with a 250gr. arrow not a 460gr arrow... further this is not just a kids or womens bow, but caters to those that are no longer able to draw the higher weights, and still want quality.

    I stopped watching when you had no clue who the bow is marketed towards. A $1200 bow definitely isn’t kids bow. Mathews is touting this bow for anyone who needs a lower draw weight. That includes us guys with aging shoulders & elbows that still want to shoot a vertical bow. Uncle Ted Nugent said it’s the sweetest bow he’s shot in his 70 years.

    • @brucelane4895

      If you truly knew about this bow you would know the 335 ibo speed is rated with an arrow thats 5 grain per pound of draw so a 50# bow was shot with a 250 grain arrow! Also the smirk on your face when you say kids or women is a bit offensive…. Lets see how fast your bow is with an arrow about 2 times heavier than it was rated at. Also there are older folks that just cant shoot high poundage anymore because of injuries that have gave issues later in life……

    • @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors
      @CliftonDenneyOnYourOwnOutdoors  Год назад +1

      @@brucelane4895 towards the end of this video i literally say this is a great bow for individuals that have injuries sorry you felt attacked by the video. There are plenty of full grown men that shoot 50lbs bows or even 45lbs bows and are successful. The smirk as you call it is bc of the conversation (just like this one that the bow techs and myself were having just before the video). My apologies

    Wait tell this punk gets to 60 70 years old with bad shoulder.trying to advertise the bow as girls or kids bow ,not a good selling point for Mathew’s.
