You did alot of hard work to replace that hose. I h ad the same issue with my 2017 430i xdrive, but I did not have to remove the manifold. The rigid nature of the hard plastic tube allowed me to place the tube behind the alternator and it just naturally wrapped around and fell into place. All I did is remove the bracket from the engine that goes to the throttle body, with that removed you can see the port where the hose goes. Good luck to all!!
A tip for y'all dealing with this issue. Instead of removing intake manifold, it will be easier to remove alternator out of the way and you can access the hose. You will save yourself time and money for Intake gasket. Thank me later

A very easy job. You dont have to take off the manifold. All you have to do is remove the black bracket that is attached to the throttle body. 3 6mm ebolts, use a pick to pull the metal clip from the connector and it comes off. It literally only takes10 min to do the job.
@@David.lovesU Moved a small bracket in FRONT of the manifold so we can physically SEE the end of the expansion hose replacement. Almost plug and play.
I have a 2017 as well with the same leak. Had the block replaced too. My vent line was changed, I think it’s called expansión time hose something. What do you guys think it is?
My 2017 430i was at 43,000 miles so I could have done this under warranty, but my BMW dealership are crooks and I expect that they will tell me something else is wrong, or a rodent caused it and stick me with the $1500-$3000 bill. They do that. Overpayed them for the $50 tube (should be about $32) and fixed it myself in less than an hour. Hardest part is snaking the tube around the back and getting it into the correct position. Use your hand back near the oil filter and make sure the tube goes over the wire harnesses under the intake manifold. Agree you do not need to remove the intake manifold to do this job. Because of cheap plastic parts, I expect I will be doing this same job again in 45K miles after having to get the car towed home again. BMW!
@@lttaylor1978 I know I am posting late, but for those that read this in the future. If you do it yourself I'd give it a 1. If BMW does it, I'm sure they will use a number like 3.8 or 4. This can be easily accomplished by most people at home with the right torx socket set and a little bit of courage.
There is a recall on that hose for all 330i. BMW replaced it at no charge for me. My warranty wouldn’t have covered it, so it wasn’t my warranty. There’s a recall on that hose

It wasn’t a formal recall per my advisor. He said they just replaced the tube with a new one and as soon as they figure out a permanent fix they will bring me back in. Doesn’t seem difficult to me. I would think just use an aluminum elbow instead of plastic. Put I don’t know 🤷🏻♂️

For the expansion hose replacement, you absolutely do not need to remove the manifold. 2018 330i, just replaced it yesterday in my garage.

Hi Davis. Mine is a 320i and giving similar problems. Do have Part numbers for the two lines you mentioned.
