This is how I do all my peace signs. I'm so glad u shared and thanks Mr Tie Dye,
Awesome! I spent years doing peace signs a more difficult way, but this method is much easier.
Great shout out to Mr. Tiedye
Absolutely - he's the master!
Fun Endeavors periooood
Wow that is colorful and I love it.
Thank you so much! 😊
That was a bit easier than I thought it would be or at least you make it look easy. I'm sure when I try it will be harder. lol It turned out awesome too.
Thank you!
I like how you give credit to Mr. Tie Dye
Absolutely - He's a tie dye master!
I like Mr. Tie Dye but my old eyes can see your tie up a lot better thanks. Will try this design again.✌😎
Thank you! Mr. Tie Dye is the master!
Thank you so much for doing these videos. You and the other tie dye gurus have made my quarantine actually kind of fun. Again, thank you :-)
Thank you - I'm glad that you are enjoying them!
This is so cool! The greens are beautiful!
Thanks so much 😊
Perfect!!! ✨❤️
Thank you! 🙂
Ty for the tutorial, i made tie dye also but i'm just a beginner..🙂
You are welcome - I'm glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Amazing videos!!! Im playing around with tie dye, but I just can't keep my yellow yellow lol. I tried using a cooling rack but it doesn't do much. What type of rack do you use?
Thank you! I dye on a long closet rack that I put over the top of a plastic tub that is made to go under the bed. It's a little longer than the plastic tub. All the excess dye just drips through into the tub when I apply the dye. Then I have more tubs and racks that are the same size, but I have cut part of the rack off so that they fit down inside the tubs - and this is where I put the shirts once they are dyed. This keeps them from sitting in any runoff dye and getting muddied by the runoff. I can usually fit several shirts in each tub. Then I can just put the lid on the tub and put them outside in the heat to process without them drying out. Here are links to the items that I use.

I love this design. I havent done liquid dye in a long time. Can you tell me how much dye to add to 4 oz. of water except for the ones with a T on the container. I know its double. Thanks😊
Thank you! If you are using Dharma Trading Company Dyes, it is 1 teaspoon of dye into 4 ounces or 1/2 cup of water. If there is an "*" after the color name it is 2 teaspoons of dye into 4 ounces, and if there are two "**", it is 4 teaspoons of dye into 4 ounces of water.
How do you get the outlines so white. Mine always bleed even with dry shirt
Are you using some kind of a sinew puller? I always struggled getting consistently tight sinew lines until I started using one. I was just using the roll of sinew to pull my lines tight and I thought I was getting them tight. However, I was having the same problem. Sometimes they were really defined and other times the dye would bleed. I couldn't pull as tight using the roll because the sinew on the roll would give too much, and the roll was too large for my hand for me to get a good tight grip. I was amazed at how much tighter I could pull my lines when I started using a solid puller.
I'm wondering if the pin point dye bottles will help or if it's my fold ??
I'm not sure. The needle tip bottles will help with more precise dye application.
When u tied up the initial arch of the peace sign and then go over it's ugh sinew, is it sorta random where u put the lines? I totally cannot see now this made a pea e sign at all its totally magic!
So the initial line that I fan folded is the outside circle of the peace sign. Then the other area that I fan folded are the legs of the peace sign. I put them next to each other and then tied sinew on either side of the initial line that I drew. The area between the 2 sinew lines is the area that I dye black and that is the actual peace sign.
I've made a more recent peace sign that might be a little easier to follow. Here is a link to that video: ruclips.net/video/UmY3wCEtxCg/видео.html
❤️
Does anyone know where I can find and download a peace sign and or a smiley face
What’s the name of the thicker thread? The one that’s waxed? I can’t decipher the spelling lol. I recently started following you and I’m so, so inspired, honestly. You are amazing.
Thank you! It is called sinew. I get mine from Amazon.com. Here's a link to the specific kind that I use. You don't have to use this particular one - any artificial waxed sinew will work.

Can you tell me where you got the sinew puller from. I know about the one where there’s a sale with boredom with Jenn but that is out of my price range. Thank you 🙂
And thank you for working hard to list all your items bcuz it really helps!
You're welcome! I purchased this one from Nikolay Savin. The best way to reach him is through his facebook page: facebook.com/nstiedye/
I have been trying to figure this out off and on since 1985. When my sister gave me one from a dead show in Berkley.
That's what I was missing!....
A PROTRACTOR at 60°lol
Gotta re-watch thanks be well
I used to make peace signs without the protractor for years. Then one day I saw Mr. Tie Dye making a peace sign with a protractor and when I tried it, it was so much easier that way. I don't know why I didn't think of it - it is brilliant!
Yeah I can totally understand. I have watched and tried his way a few times. And Nadda...I was almost there last year...none of my shirts ever look as nice as yours or anybody else's for that matter. 😆 some hippie. LoL seriously I was even born in SF spring 67.
I've gone from tees to bandannas.
Not banannas...lol..
I just do it for fun.
I like the Shibori style really. I have always like to sew the pleats. One can do some amazing patterns that way.
Just a bit less colorful.
If I do one in a few days I'll take a picture to show

@@tavanweerd I get it - the peace sign can be challenging. I think Shibori is really cool. I haven't done any of the sewn pleats, but I have done a few of the more simple folds. 🙂
Thank you for all your awesome videos. You have great angles. Just and FYI sinew is pronounced sin-yew not sin-ew ;)
Thank you! Yes, this is an older video - I've since corrected my pronunciation of it. Unfortunately, I can't edit the videos that have already been uploaded.
@@FunEndeavors oh I'm sorry. I didn't realize this. I watch and learn from your videos almost daily at the moment. I'm getting ready for a festival that I will have a table in. I'm hoping it goes well.
@@debgreffe No problem. That sounds like a lot of fun - I hope you do great at your festival! 🙂
Hi im from indonesia . i have one question . What liquid for mixing the colour powder . Is that soda ash liquid ? Because my tie dye's is so faded after i rinse it
I soak my shirt in soda ash (1 cup per 1 gallon of water) before I tie or dye it. Then the dye powder I just mix with water and a little bit of Urea to help keep the dye on the shirt from drying out while it processes.
@@FunEndeavors what is the urea ? In indonesia that is the fertilizer for the trees .
Is that the urea do you mean?
And what the next step after you leave your tiedye for keep the dye ?
I search in indonesian google they said use thw waterglass liquid . Is that true ?
Because i've used the soda ash before .
@@FunEndeavors one more . Do you hang your tie dye in the sun after you dye it ? Or you stored in ziplock plastick ?
Yes, it's a little pellet.
Why did you let the shirt dry after you folded and tied it?
I get better dye saturation on a dry shirt. The fibers aren't already saturated with the soda ash solution. In my opinion, the benefits of dyeing dry is more noticeable on some folds than on others. The thicker folds in particular (like a mandala) tend to be easier to get good dye saturation when they are dry. I wring most of my shirts out in a Panda Spin Dryer which leaves the shirt barely damp. So, after I tie it - it doesn't take very long to dry.
Thank you! That’s super helpful
@@elizabethjoy2222 I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking!
Hi thank you for your videos! I have this tie down but my peace sighn is not completely round when I'm done any tips on how I can make this better its looken like a pretzel 🥺? Thanks
Yikes! Are you using a piece of string to draw your circle? If not, that's where I would start. Otherwise, your fan folds might not be exactly right. Also, the line that you drew should be straight when your fan folds are complete.
You know reading comments and thinking of my own questions there is a great need for basics. The right eyes to use, urea, soda ash, then the setting. I use both a rack in a container and giant zip locks I set on the roof of my car 😁 and the rinsing and washing and drying. Do you dry or hang dry, what sort of soap do you use. I see these questions all the time and have reached the conclusion that there is no universal method. Am I right?
I think each tie dyer has their own preferences. I live where it gets really hot in the summer and so I always add Urea to my liquid, but I've seen many tie dyers say that they never do. I could also probably get by with processing my shirts less than 24 hours if I stuck them outside during the summer too because it gets so hot. I don't use blue Dawn in the washing machine, but I will use a little bit if I soak a shirt before I put it in the washer - especially if there is a large white area that I am trying to keep white on the shirt. I use Dharma's textile detergent or Synthrapol when I wash and pre-wash my shirts. I think most people just find a process that works for them based upon what supplies they can get and what climate they live in.
I had the same questions when I started dyeing 5 years ago. Give the reasonable ideas a try, and keep at it until you discover what works best for you.
it so the plant 🌱 won’t die make peace ✌🏻🦠🔋🚺
I’m so lost on the second step😭😭
I'm sorry - this is kind of a tough fold. Mr. Tie Dye has a video for a peace sign too. His video might be a bit easier to follow.
Getting quality dies nd ash is my problem
I know that it is tough for some people to find the dyes right now. Some of the companies that I buy from are only allowed to ship inside the United States right now.
Your hand is in front of camera when dying the black peace sign......
I'm sorry - camera angles are always a challenge when filming the videos. Unfortunately, when I'm in the middle of applying the dye I can't always check to make sure I'm getting a good angle, and so it's after I'm finished that I realize I'm not happy with the shot.
It’s a little too hard 😓😓😓
You can do it! Is there a particular part that you are having difficulty with?
