Roland is the freaking g.o.a.t! Met him and scott in florida fishing down there with my grandpops we talked to him and scott for a great while hour plus great people!!
Nice coming across these Roland Martin videos even months after he does them. He is a good teacher. On this one I noted down each lure he presented. What a blessing we have him doing these on RUclips.
Like so many of the fishermen out here, I grew up watching your show. Didn’t have cable so I’d rent your videos. Brings back memories of dad and I watching your videos. Good luck and thanks for the information.
Gotta love him man! ... "This one's got a Carolina rig, I got a weight and a bead up here, not sure why a bead though, I guess it's just kinda tradition! " his character and personality is just unmatched
Funny you mentioned you're book. I looked to my right and there's Roland Martin's 101 bass-catching secrets on my bookshelf. I bought it the year it came out. My favorite other bible.
I go to Florida every year and I've never fished there but I'll be sure to try those lures. This is probably the most helpful video I've found and the most explanatory so I'll be sure to subscribe!
I just want to say, I have loved Roland Martin my whole life. Thanks to him, I’ve enjoyed a lifetime of bass fishing and it was his techniques that I learned from his book and TV series that got me started. I was a teenager in the 80’s who lived in SW Florida, not far from his home town of Clewiston. Used to always hope I’d see him pull up in his Ranger bass boat in the canals of Cape Coral where I fished. God bless Roland Martin, his entire family, and I hope Scott wins the Bassmaster Classic to fulfill the family legacy.👍
Same for me , being from Cuba I was a saltwater fishing all my life until I buy a 1984 Mr Martin video fishing the big "o" and catching 10 pounder and that was all I needed to get hookup on bass fishing
Weather getting nice here in South Carolina and hope my back will cooperate a long with the weather to get out and do a little early season Bass fishing, Thank you for all the great videos and the great advice.Have a blessed day
Your 101 book is great, it helped me, and made me a better spinnerbait fishermen, and yes, a pattern fishermen. I still read it, and love the stories too.
I always take a ton of baits with me so when the pattern changes I have what I need to catch them . The Key is don’t be afraid to try new lures and fish new areas. Thanks Roland for the info🎣👍
I'll check out the Buzz Bait. I learn a lot from you in fishing different types of lures. Keep teaching the Viewers these great methods. Good luck in the Tournament. Take Care.
Great guy! Thanks for sharing and all the memories throughout the years! I became hooked in the early 80s when I was in the military and never stopped!
It's nice to see you in tournaments again! You have provided great info over the years. When you get a chance can you do a video of your favorite lures for highly pressured bass? I'm having a tough time establishing a pattern at a lake with monsters in it but they are really tough to catch. Castaic lake Ca the bass have heavy pressure on them. They are the Florida strain of largemouth.
Went out to a smaller body of water and zero were fish were caught finesse fishing and believe me we tried. The only thing that worked was a 6th sense craw colored square bill. We caught 14 on that lure. 🎣
I have a thought. Where I fish in south Florida, I think the Big Bass are eating the smaller bass. Sometimes I use baby bass colored flukes & they crush the bass.
Roland as far as throwing those swimbaits goes, you like just pegging a bullet weight upfront instead of using the weighted swimbait hooks? Any reason?
Roland is a freaking legend! Love that he started a RUclips channel. So cool.
Roland is a master angler and one of the all-time greats.
@@johncaltagirone2843 No doubt about it!

I took a picture with this legend
Hey Roland could you show how you tie that double line on the Devil's Horse? Hope the tournament goes well for you.
I have a thought. Where I fish in south Florida, I think the Big Bass are eating the smaller bass. Sometimes I use baby bass colored flukes & they crush the bass.
Conspicuously absent is the classic spinner bait. I'm assuming, perhaps in error, that the chatter bait accomplishes the same action?
Legend.
Good luck! Show 'em how it's done.
The man! The myth!
Roland do you have link for the Buzz frog ? Thanks Mark
