- Ceviche is a popular beach snack that can be found along the Mexican coast. It's served cold and is perfect for hot days. A variety of seafood can be used in place of shrimp.

Ingredients:
1 pound shrimp deviened
4 tomatoes
1 cucumber
1/2 yellow onion
3 cloves garlic
1 green onion (green part only)
2 tablespoons cilantro/coriander
*1 jalapeno or serano
2-3 cups lime juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground coriander seed
*fresh chilies are typically used with ceviche but I use ground chili powder for this recipe. I like using ground chili so the entire dish is more evenly spiced. It also gives you more control over the spice level. I end up adding fresh habanero to the top of my bowl for extra flavor.
makes 4 servings
Thanks for being straight forward and no bs. Showing easy step by steps. Best video to follow by far and not a long video like a lot out there 👍
Thank for your comment. I’m glad that you found it easy to follow. 🙏🏽
He wasn’t straight forward. Is it lime or lemon juice? He changes what he says

Hey. I don't see you guys making, posting and sharing videos for other's benefit. Stop poking fun of other's features or quirks when they didn't ask, I'm sure there's plenty someone would say about you if you ever left your chair and keyboard. Golden rule.
Thanks for the video bro
right...... people can be so harsh and this guy is probs intelligent af
the saltiest fan I've ever seen
Dont be so sensitive
You actually make people feel worse when you sympathize and defend them in public. It embarrasses them. You should read a psychology book, brah.
Thank you for this recipe! I just made it. One with shrimp and one with scallops and they turned out so good! Thank you!
I made it exactly how you did, minus the jalapeño. Added it to an arugula salad. Topped off with avocado. Perfect. Thank you for the easy recipe.
Oh that sounds delicious! Been trying to think what to eat it with instead of chips
I had this for the first time im glad I found your video so i can do this for myself
never knew that jalapeno powder existed... yummy recipe
CLARA3952 koss Badia makes some
wtf
Thank you. I have made ceviche many times, including with my friends from Quintana Roo. I have learned that everyone makes it slightly different. I have learned some new technics from you such as how to submerge the shrimp with plastic wrap, and also the spices that you used. I am so eager to try your version with a small adjustment of ingredients that I like.
Thank you
So do i have to cook the shrimp or not
@@makeupandhairstyles-bp5ib no you do not have to cook the shrimp. the shrimp "cooks" in the acid from the lime juice. as long as you ensure all shrimp is covered and submerged in the juice.
many people do prefer to cook the shrimp fist because of their own concerns, but the original authentic method does not require cooking
@@makeupandhairstyles-bp5ib the shrimps in this video already cooked before he added lime juice (you can tell by the color of the shrimp).
You don't cook it with heat.
Peel the cold raw shrimp. Then, chop them in small coin size pieces . This way the lime juice can cook thoroughly.
Yum! That looks good. Shrimp is my ultimate favorite food in a dish. I think I'll try it some time.
Thanks, I hope you enjoy the recipe.
I just watched your video for the first time and have not seen any other videos. Immediately subbed and liked. Noticed last video posted was 1+ year ago; I already miss you.
Fantastic recipe.....will make it this holiday weekend for my first course!
Just made it with your help. Thanks! Delish
I love your channel what an efficient professional you have all the veggies already cut and ready prep to show us your wonderful recipe super efficient (I dont like long videos I skip or fast forward when the cook is taking a long time chopping veggies) YUMMO

Thanks for a tasty and concise way to prepare ceviche! Aleays one of my favorites!
Thanks for sharing this it is one of my Favorites yummy
Cannot wait to make this.
Lemon or lime juice? You went back and forth between the two juices with one cup. Looks great btw.
Just wondering? That shrimp was pink before you added the lemon juice, is that cooked at all? I know when you buy fresh shrimp it’s usually grey
Similar recipe
Peel shrimp/fish depending on what you prefer. Then dice shrimp/fish. Put shrimp/fish in a bowl or pan and then cover with lime juice. While it cooks (shrimp will turn pink when cooked approx 30mins-1hr), dice up roma tomatoes, purple onion, cilantro, jalapeños, cucumber, and place in a different bowl. Add garlic salt and salt to the diced veggies. After the shrimp cooks add the veggies and some chile piquin for flavor. Mix it up and add clamato or spicy clamato depending on preference.
Dude you need to blink. Your eyeballs are going to dry out.
This made me laugh so hard, comment gold. I guess I am kinda bug eyed 😂
I have to admit, this was hilarious!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahaha
funny
Thanks so much bro. This was just what I was looking for. Much love from Belize :)
Thank you. I hope you enjoy.
Delicious Ceviche and great for Belizeans like myself.
And conch cerviche, yum!
good vid thanks man I'm going to give that a try I do cooking weekly as well I'll be checking out your dishes :)
Thanks, I appreciate it. Let me know how it turns out.
will do thanks
This looks great 👍 I want to try. Thanks
Thanks. Let me know how it turns out.
This recipe is perfect!! I love to add lots of avocado 🥑 myself but the magic of this is that it’s so versatile. Cilantro tastes like soap to me so I love to sub fresh dill and parsley mix for the cilantro. So dang good.
Me too. It doesn't to everyone so it was hard to explain to certain people lol.
Um, so u called it lime juice a few times an lemon juice, which is it?? Is it both?? Just 1? Is there a preferred juice?
It was just a mistake I made when recording this video. I use lime and only use lemon if lines are unavailable.
I will change the cucumber for avocado 😋
Both
Make sure to add avocado to your plate and not the main dish. It will brown fast 😁
@@silverstangx add it at least an hour before serving. Sodium and acid will preserve it.
Is the lime juice fresh or does bottled works?
I like the habanero kick, thanks!!
Looks amazing. I’m going to try this recipe.
Tried this today added a bit of clam juice i love your recipe!!!
quick question, how much does it cost to buy all the ingredients for this?
That looks so yummy!
Thank you so much. I hope you try it and love it.
That voice is very soothing tbh
1:30 how did u turn the lime juice into lemon juice 😉
Yummy very delicious
Thank you so much
this recipe is awesome thank youu
I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching.
What do you use to cook the shrimp before you season it?
It “cooks” in the citrus. I used a type of prawn that is pinkish when raw but there was no actual cooking of them.
Can I use lemeon juice already squeezed in a bottle?
Was the shrimp in ths recipe cooked ever? or completely raw....
Is full cooked frozen shrimp o.k to use and then submerged for 2 hours in the lemon juice? Also do you reccomend using a lemon/ lime juice mix? (Thank you)
I would avoid cooked shrimp. It will not absorb the flavors the same way and soaking it in acidic juice will make it rubbery. Lemon and Lime is a matter of preference. I mention both in the video because I substitute one if the other is not available.
If I have a choice, I prefer limes.
@@TastetheGlobe Thank you very much for the info.✌❤
Did you boil the shrimp before you put it in the ceviche?
You used cooked shrimp but talked about it as it were raw shrimp. You also referred to lime juice as lemon juice. I’m not sure you know what you’re doing.
Was the shrimp pre cooked? It looked pink?
Can I use frozen shrimp?
I make a paste out of sour oranges and roasted green pepper and salt which is then fermented. My question is if I can use this paste to "cook" my fish? Also, would turtle be able to be used? I live near a big river and we have a lot of variety of fish and shell fish and reptiles. There are clams, crawdads (looks exactly like a lobster but typically no longer than 4 inches), oysters, catfish, bass, trout, carp, muskie, bluegill, punkinseed, snapping turtles, and a variety of snakes. What of this "sea"food would be good as ceviche? I already ferment fish guts in salt with herbs to make garum (a condiment similar to Vietnamese Mam).
I --L👄VE --Mexican food I mean 👉🏽I L🥰VE it 👈🏽
wow, this looks AMAZING!!!
Thank you, Its easy to make. Let me know if you try out my recipe.
your shrimp was pink before you submerged it. Was it precooked?
No, it was just a different variety of shrimp that was available in Italy that is pink when it's raw.
Good job bro!
Me quedo delicioso.
Gracias
Gracias usted
What is your Theme Music? I like it..
Lemon or lime juice?
People need to focus on the recipe and stop make ridiculous comments. Jesus Christ!
haha it's par for the course on RUclips.
I know. But people are just too busy being miserable and trolls.
Trying it today! Thanks for the recipe!
Thank you!!!
Looks so good man! Now I’m hungry! Haha
Lol, good. Hunger is a great motivator. Thanks for commenting.
I need to make this recipe!
Thank you. Let me know how it turns out.
Lemon juice or Lime juice? You use them interchangeably ; )
Can I use a plastic bowl?
Yes but I avoid using plastic containers. If they have any scratches, they can leave the odor or fish or shrimp if you don't soak them very well while cleaning.
Good recipe, I’ve lived in Mexico for a few years and I know how it’s made but no coriander seed or cumin seed goes in it.
Cool
I find it funny that I'm eating ceviche while watching someone make ceviche
same
So Are the shrimp raw then the lemon juice actually cooks it?
Yes..the lemon juice cooks the shrimp and also fish or any other type of seafood..you just have to leave if submerged in juice for a few hours ...its how many Mexican seafood dishes are made .
What is the song at the intro?
You said lime juice then lemon then lime witch one is it???
Lol, my bad. Lime juice works best but lemon works if that’s all you can find.
Which
Lime is best.
I don't know about garlic bro I've never tried it on my ceviche
I make Ceviche at least once a month for the past 20 years, always added garlic. Garlic is a staple in 99 percent of great dishes. Add garlic man
Thanks bro I have to make it for a party lol
The shrimp or fish cooks in the lime juice covered?
Yes, this is a technique used for some fish and shrimp dishes.
Why didn’t you stir the veggies in the beginning to mix in the salt and get the flavors to mix?
He said why
