Here's a tip. If you cut lemons and limes in half along the length instead of the width you will get more juice and they are easier to squeeze as well.
Great recipe I used it tonight! If I may give a small critique take the large stems off the cilantro and parsley cause they’re more bitter than the leaves. It’s a little bit of a pain in the butt to get the leaves off but it makes the flavor more pure. Thank you for the video it was great!
AlbertI knew that you could take a simple dish like ceviche to the next level!!! You have outdone yourself once more, thank you for putting the time and effort into this recipe for me. Needless to say you know what I'm serving for a appetizer this evening. Thank you once more, Dr.Michael🏄 & Miss Barbra😇
The sherry vinegar really makes this dish. My family had shrimp ceviche at a restaurant that was way too sour, so I wanted to find a recipe to make it the right way. This did it perfectly.
I made this tonight and it turned out fantastic! The only amendment I made is to add about 1/4 teaspoon Tabasco sauce. That tiny bit of heat made it exactly like the ceviche I grew up on in Arizona.
Yes!!! So today I’m making the garbanzos from yesterday and guess what? Tomorrow’s making this ceviche. Awesome recipe and thank you so much for sharing and helping me expand my knowledge 😊 Take care and keep the recipes coming!!
I recently stumbled across your channel. Tonight I made your Manchego Cheese and Tomato Skillet recipe. Made the Basque Piperade a couple of times already. Both were amazing! A friend and I are already planning our next tapas dinner!
This recipe is just awesome! I had been making Ceviche for my husband for several years, but sometimes found the acidity to be just a little too much. However, your recipe which adds olive oil and sherry vinegar made all the difference in the world. I could eat this all day long. Thank you!
you should add the salt and lime and lemon juice first and balance out the salt to acid level.. It's the most important step in any south American food
Fresh Florida jumbo shrimp ceviche on our menu this weekend! Avocado and vinegar have what I’ve been needing to add. As always, thanks for sharing your wonderful palate and creativity with us.
Hi! Thank you for the videos, I really enjoy your recipes! Could you maybe try to write the ingredients and the amount in the description for your future videos if it's possible for you please? It would be so much easier to follow the recipe 🙏😊
Making this now from your recipe. Perfect walkthrough and ingredients. Substituting French Baggett thin sliced bread, put in the oven with lightly dosed olive oil. Crispy and well baked. Substitute for the pita chips. Subscribed and will keep you posted on how it turns out. Truly looking forward to it. Cheers from Florida. Edited for the after results: Fantastic , fresh and so delish. Thank you for sharing the recipe my friend. Loved it.........Cheers!
so it was my understanding that normally ceviche takes multiple hours to marinate in the citrus juice, is that only with fish and shrimp takes less time?
“Ceviche is from Peru, not Mexico.” Proceeds to make ceviche with tomato and avocado, two of the most iconic Mexican ingredients in history. 😉 Ceviche may have originated in Peru, but it was certainly perfected in Mexico.
A Spaniard will never tell you it originates from Spain, as it does not, It comes from Peru :) But all people can enjoy its amazing flavors and make them in their style, much love
TOO ACIDIC? Shouldn't the salad ingredients be dressed separately with preferably a lighter dressing from the prawns? They also get prawn-flavoured as well I guess. Personally I prefer different flavour profiles on my plate to keep it interesting and prepare protein toppings separately from the actual salad.
Use an electric citrus juicer for limes and lemons. The sieve is part of the juicer. Idk what type of juicer he ‘s talking about. I’ve had mine for years
I’ve eaten Peruvian ceviche in several authentic Peruvian restaurants. Plus my friend who is Peruvian also makes it. That I’m aware of, they don’t use a sweetener, olive oil or avocado on their ceviche. Avocado is not native to Peru, so that’s not something Peruvians use in their ceviche or cuisine much.
Peru was never founded 2000 years ago before colonial establishment. So it is not Spanish at all, it was simply adapted and spread throughout Latin America and spread.
Eso no es Ceviche es una ENSALADA de CAMARONES, por favor, por favor no engañes al decir Ceviche. para los Peruanos no es Ceviche lo que tu lo has echo, Sorry!!!!🙃😉 That's not Ceviche, it's a SHRIMP SALAD, please, please don't be misleading when you say Ceviche. for Peruvians it is not Ceviche that you have made, Sorry!!!!🙃😉
no no no no no.... you can add a tea spoon of milk maybe to mild out the lime but not those things you put... it becomes too sweet and it's no longer the peruvian experience... which, remember!, it's the best!!!! lol Another thing I will share with you my dear new friend ;-)... high end restaurants don't squeez the lime as hard as you did as that will draw out the bitter tastes.... but i think that's bullshit! cause I squeeze the shit out of my limes and the ceviche I make is the best! lol..the other secret ingredient for the ceviche is the ginger. Oh lord., I just saw all the veggies you put in it. This is no longer peruvian ceviche, just so all of you out there know. :) in fact, i'm shutting this down. this is sacrileges
Here's a tip. If you cut lemons and limes in half along the length instead of the width you will get more juice and they are easier to squeeze as well.
Amazing fact which evaded me for 60 years!
Same as using a fork
I have tried this recipe and i can confirm that it is absolutely delicious!! Everyone should give it a try. Great job, Tío Albert❤️
Thanks for the comment Natalie :) much love
What do you use instead of sherry vinegar, I do not have any?
Great recipe I used it tonight! If I may give a small critique take the large stems off the cilantro and parsley cause they’re more bitter than the leaves. It’s a little bit of a pain in the butt to get the leaves off but it makes the flavor more pure. Thank you for the video it was great!
Sounds great! Much love :)

One of my favorite dishes is ceviche on hot rice. Substituting any decent firm white fish for shrimp works well as well.
Sounds great! Thanks for the comment :) Much love

Great recipe...just missing a key ingredient imo: Canchas - toasted corn kernels (ideally made from chulpe corn)
Besides shrimp what other fish do you recommend? Thank you for such a great video..
Any firm or semi-firm lean white fish will work :) much love

Ceviche may have originated in Peru, but it was certainly perfected in Mexico.
Avocados are grown in almost every former and current Spanish colony including Peru, the Phillipines, Canarias, and the Iberian peninsula
YUMMY 😋 AMAZING LOVELY BEAUTIFUL CEVICHE THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME BEAUTIFUL ✨
My only problem would be keeping myself from eating the whole bowl alone!😁😁😁😁
lol....Much love :)
It seems that the Spanish don't do lobster either? I looked for a lobster recipe among your lists but didn't find any. ...
Yes they do, but mostly used in rice dishes, but I have yet to make one, surely in the future :) much love
❤
Much love :)
No pimenton picante?
The paprika does not work well with the rest of the ingredients :) much love
I love the video can you do something for someone who has no teeth I have cancer so I have to be picky
It's funny, I previously watched a Mexican chef who said Peruvians, Spaniards etc all claim that they invented Ceviche...
A Spaniard will never tell you it originates from Spain, as it does not, It comes from Peru :) But all people can enjoy its amazing flavors and make them in their style, much love
I’m an underachiever. I left mine in the fridge for exactly 11:24 😫
This is mexican ceviche ..the Peruvian ceviche is call leche de tigre .
Use a fork to drain squeeze like lemon
TOO ACIDIC?

So simple recipe, yet he makes it sooooo long!!!
👍👍👍👍

Shouldn't we cook the shrimp? Isn't raw shrimp harmful to consume?
I love your recipes. Believe me. However, when cooking shrimp, grammaticaly it is shrimp and not shrimps.
Yes, you are right! much love :)
Sorry, where are the hot peppers?
Pro tip: squeeze limes last over everything and add salt as needed when you put the lime juice in a cup it has a off flavor
Bad tip.
Lost me with the pita chips.

Are the shrimps cooked or raw. None of these ceviche videos ever say.
As stated on the video, uncooked raw shrimp :) much love
@@SpainonaFork Okay, I missed that. Thank you. Great video.
NO CILANTRO!
The kitchen is beautiful, the food is beautiful but that refrigerator is terrifying 😳
