So, I’ve just come back from a week long road trip to Ireland, following the top 5 pints guide, Galway, Dingle, Killarney and Dublin, and you’re telling me there’s a 8.4 in my home town!!! Brilliant trip btw, what a fantastic country! Thank you GG
Good to see you young lads getting in to this very important issue. At 60 I remember traveling miles for an acceptable pint. I live in Eire now so it's easy but the pint is important, and must be treated with reverence. A bad pint must be extinguished from the market place. Keep up your important work.
I went to Dublin recently and had some of the best pints of guiness thanks to your advice. Awesome how you've come down to Manchester now where I live!
My hometown used to frequent Mulligans a lot over the years was always a great pub and Guinness.Pevril on the peak is more an ale pub but a great quirky pub.Was in the Station in Didsbury a few times and does a great pint too. Also another great pub The Bowling Green in one of da suburbs called Chorlton does a great pint of Guinness which would be up there with Mulligans.I’m living in Castlebar Mayo for the last year but very much missing Manchester and Stretford and Chorlton in particular. But saying that Castlebar has some good pubs with great Guinness especially John McHales and The Cobweb.
Used to work on the doors here at the weekend.. Great pub but slightly expensive but like u say great pint. Shout out for the nags head aswell around the corner also a great pint of guiness..
i used to pull pints in those style glasses from the 2nd pub. I think we used to call them Tumblers. A lot of people would refuse a pint in one of them. They used to ask for a pint of Tulip instead.
The Old Nag's Head around the corner from Mulligan's does an even better pint. You wouldn't expect it from the look of the place, but the pint is epic. Even on a busy Sat night.
I haven’t been to Ireland yet, so no experience with the best but can confirm , Mulligans is great. Top Guinness, top pub! There and Shenanigans in Liverpool. Best in the North West!
I'm not a massive Guinness expert, but I was drinking the black stuff in Mulligan's last night - whilst not exactly cheap, it really WAS bloody good (great domeage!!). Recommended.
Some folk out there criticise this channel because you only review one beer. Personally I think its brilliant. 👏 so glad u called in the Peveril and the tiny Circus Tavern. Great u found the best guinness out side Eire. Cracking video mate🍺👍slurpy
works out at €6.95 a pint. ffs I can nearly get 2 in my local at home. jesus.must have a mask and Cape on him behind the counter.robbin hood, more like Robbin bastards.
Mulligans is indeed unreal. Lovely little place often with great little bands playing at the tables in the evenings. Guinness gone up to 6.20 now but still absolutely worth it every now and then.
When you mention about bubbles in the head being bad, what causes the bubbles? Is it the way it’s poured, or something like the glass or lines not being clean? Thanks
Me and a mate just went into mulligans in a day into Manchester and it was a truly memorable pint . I knew instantly the review in here was correct when I walked into the pub and nearly everyone was drinking Guinness
It costs even more now in Mulligans and the last two times I've been, it's gone up twice. I haven't been in for a couple of months but it must be near £7 a pint now. Ironically, I've got Mulligans on my doorstep but I can't afford to drink there regularly but just down the road on Deansgate there's a decent pint of Guinness (I'd rate a 7) for £2.99 in Moon Under Water. Looks like it's Spoons for me!
Nipped in last weekend, £6.40 for a Guinness - great as a payday treat! The Old Pint Pot & New Oxford just on Chapel Street do a great Guinness, about £4.35 in both. Must visit if you're local to the centre!
@niallwood Yeah, I nipped in as well and thought I saw that on Sunday, glad you've confirmed it. It's a bit of a joke now isnt it but as long as people are willing to pay it, they'll continue to charge that for it. I had a quick Google of those pubs and I'll definitely be trying the New Oxford. Ta for the heads up 😎🍺👍
If you want the worse Guinness come to East Sussex, especially Eastbourne area. Their excuse is “it doesn’t travel well” no - you can’t pour well is more the reason
City fans are going to love you, ironically haha Im not sure where you refer to in Ireland too because ive been all over that country, big Guinness drinker and there was only 1 pub in the countryside that was a 10/10 pint.
Pervil. Visit every trip. Good selection of ales. Guinness is so so.load up the juke box, slap on the rebel songs, rack up the pool table and sink a few.
King Eric used to have a quiet pint of the black stuff in the peveril of the peak now and again, Mulligan's is quality, try the nags head next time your over, Guinness nothing to write home about but worth a visit especially if your a red 👍
New to the channel but could someone explain his scoring system please? Not sure how it can be the best pint he’s ever had outside of Ireland but it’s only an 8.4? That seems low
Just came back from Manchester, bloody hell the Guinness was marvellous. Even my gf enjoyed it. Expensive yes but when it’s that good, I don’t mind one or two. I just need to get over that water to Ireland now 😂
Yeah it is, good tune. Song woulda been pretty apt if it was a good pint. Like how the song kicked in while he was ponderin his thoughts after he took his first sup
U have to remember in the 70/80 manchester had the biggest Irish community outside if London. So the guiness had to be good. The Ben briely in Moston guiness was a1 but sadly closed. Mulligans is good but far too expensive..
You seriously need to go to moate in Westmeath, the gap house people travel miles around for, you have p egans, bo allens and you have paders so so much good stuff in this town honestly your missing a trick don’t know why you haven’t been here the place is notorious
Looks like an cracker of a pint and the praise was definitely high. I can't help feel it was underscored though. You've given 8.2s/8.3s to pints in london that got nowhere near the reaction of this! Seems like it should be high 8s to be honest. Maybe becasue its not in Ireland its not near the 9s?

That pint in Mulligan's went down like a knackered lift haha

Certainly better than the royal Oak in Chorlton 🤣
I could tell you were gonna say that was the best outside Ireland. Everything about it just ticked all the boxes. Superb! Please do Glasgow next!!

The "no place like dome" on that first pint!👏👍
Lived in Manchester 18 years and didn't know this place existed. I'll be popping in!
It's a bit hard to find mate down the back of kendals
I honestly can't believe the price of pints in Manchester these days. Up until a few years back they would be considered London prices.
I haven’t been to Ireland yet, so no experience with the best but can confirm , Mulligans is great. Top Guinness, top pub!
There and Shenanigans in Liverpool. Best in the North West!
Don't forget The Irish Centre in Liverpool, hands down the best in the whole of Britain apart from Dublin.

Nice to see you playing the boys are back in town where the song originated
Go to the Cotton Tree in Hyde
Not Guiness but Murphys at £2.30 a pint.
8.4 seems really harsh for a pint that wouldnt look out of place in Bowes or the Gravediggers.
Pulls the scores out of the clouds half the time. 😂 Better just listening to his overall impression.
i personally don't think mulligans is as good as the gravediggers having lived in manchester for seven years.
