    Hi Thomas.
I downloaded the Clear Outside App. to have a look. It certainly needs updating, the UI is appalling! But you can’t beat free! Will be interesting to see how accurate it is.
Consider Dark Sky App. IMO by far the most accurate weather App. available. It’s Rain forecasting is incredibly accurate! As a English Lake District native I can attest to that! It is a paid App. but to have access to the best forecasting data does cost money!
Another good weather App. is Windy. Free in basic version but to upgrade to Pro version is quite expensive. However it appears to be very accurate.
A small point, nevertheless important if you value accuracy😁. Rydal Water is just that, a WATER not a lake. Grassmere is a MERE. There is only one lake in The Lake District & that is Bassenthwaite Lake. All of the others are Tarns, Waters & Lakes.
Yes I know, slightly irritating, but accurate.😊.
All the best. Have a good workshop when you return.

Don't get me wrong, but it's so nice to see that you guys also have days when the photography is going downhill. I know all photographers have days when they run out of ideas and don't get the best images, but it's really nice that you don't hide those days for the viewers by not making a video about it. And you still ended up with 3 really nice images, but that last one is really lovely. Just perfect autumn colors and calm morning mood!

    Thomas,
When you have settled on your composition for a shot with a polarizer and say a 3-stop soft grad filter - how do you determine the correct shutter speed? Is it based on experience or are you metering the shot with your Camera to get the desired exposure?
    Thanks,

Question for everyone: I'm about to buy my first L series lens after being into photography for five years with nothing more than the kit lenses. I am stuck between the canon 16-35 f4, and a variant of the 70-200, as i love switching between wide and long focal lengths. I shoot mostly landscapes and portraits. Which way should i go first?

Love how you keep it real. Had same issue with ripples, but with children skimming stones on the Hooker Valley Track lake, with "simply stunning" reflections of Aoraki/Mt Cook and icebergs on the lake being temporarily "altered" by the numerous and rather large ripples! Even though I wanted the aliens to come and teleport the kiddies into another dimension, I simply waited until they got bored and moved on, no one owns the great outdoors, share and share alike!
