Great collection. My favorite knives now are the Matriarch 2 and Joyimbo, the second is very versatile, but gives me less confidence for purely defensive use.
Got the Matriarch 2 black with the emerson opener, never would of except that there was one used for 60. Changed my mind about full serrations. Came super dull but the sharpmaker took quick care of that.

I'm definitely getting a Matriarch 2 with the Emerson "Wave".
I'll get a Civilian at some point as well.

The only reason to buy the civilian is for collecting; for SD daily carry the Matriarch is perfect, it comes very, very sharp, and is lightweight. The Emerson wave is essential when you try it.

Ain't no doubt about it, the reverse S line of defense knives are absolute flesh destroying beasts... I love my civilian and matriarch. They are really neat knives.

I wish the civilian had the Emerson opener
I have the first one, pinned and alittle off. But no rubbing. Was only 60something, got lucky on ebay on a few, especially this one! That ,g10 is nice!
So it’s only a defense knife if you’re slashing?? Seems less effective, if you jab wrong the rounded part won’t do much. I would assume your typical edc straight blade would be more versatile. I enjoy your videos.
I've always wanted one of these reverse S Spydercos. The only reason I haven't is, serrated or not, I'd have to get specialized equipment to sharpen one. Sure, I could use the Sharpmaker but I just can't get the edge I'm accustomed to with my KME.
I'll break down eventually and get one, most likely.

These are pure defense blades. Carry it for its intended purpose and you won't have to resharpen it.

Thank you for sharing sir. Very nice collection, I am watching this while opening up my first reverse-s blade, a Waved Matriarch 2, fully serrated. All I can say is...damn! Now you are making want a Civilian. I wonder why Spyderco has never added the wave feature to that model?

To me definitely looks like you could EDC a lil' matriarch, the tip doesn't look as weak as the civilian's, and not that different to a Karambit-style blade such as the Harpy of the Byrd Hawkbill, am I wrong ?
THEY CAN BE EDC KNIVES BUT WHAT THEY MEAN IS NOT AN UTILITY KNIFE...

They are beautiful! But i have little hands...merlin and lil matriarch are no more available😢. What do you think about tasman salt 2? Plain or serrated ?
I like both tasmans.
There is Dragonfly Hawkbill if you need small blade.
The Harpy has a stainless handle with a 2.75" serrated blade in VG-10. It's basically a HD Tasman.
