Great job, the car looks awesome and it's quiet fast. 💪👍 Good you agree to the rule to take out the shelf queen once.
at least once...yes... 👍 gotta experience how the car handles and feels like.....
I've watched your series on this build numerous times and recently had an opportunity to purchase this same car so I jumped on it and wow this car I bought is MINT! If it wasn't for your video on this I wouldn't have known how rare and awesome this thing is. Thank you so much for the info and as always great work and keep it going.
Wow glad you were able to get your hands on one of these. It's an awesome looking and performing RC. Was it NIB or a MINT Built one?
Unfortunately it was already built but the builder did a great job. No scratches or fingerprints on the chassis or body and the stickers are almost perfect. One of my main things I strive to avoid is fingerprints and scratches. This car will not be driven and will sit in a display as it has all new parts. Even the 01r motor appears to not have been run
The body and paint work turned out nice .
Looks great, love the T-Bird. I sponsored a small part on Billy Standridge’s car in the late 90’s, for the Daytona 500. He drove a T-Bird with the #47 on it. Very cool
Thats pretty cool. Tell me more about that.... & thanks for the support.
I used to own the trademark for the saying “My Bad” and had a start up t-shirt line. I had no idea what I was doing but I loved going to Daytona every year for the Bush Clash and then back the following week for the 500. Anyway, Billy was running in the Clash that year. Back then drivers had to earn their way in. He had no sponsors on his car so I went and asked him about it. I had a small spot on the c-pillar for $10k and his crews uniforms didn’t show up so I had sweatshirts embroidered for the whole crew along with giving them hats and t-shirts. That was a couple more grand. It was fun and he got my shirts in a couple more stores, but wasn’t worth it business wise but as a race fan, it was money well spent. If you ever watch the videos of Dale Earnhardt given, sorry, I mean finally win the 500, Billy’s crew is one of the first few crews lined up to high five Dale. They’re all in black sweatshirts and jeans or Dickies. Good times, it’s only money, when I got home I made more of it.
Great stuff, as usual. This channel is criminally underappreciated. 👍
Thank you for that comment. I"m glad you enjoy the channel. Thank you for your support.
I really admire your attention to detail, thats one awesome looking car finished to perfection. Thanks for the soapy water tip to, i'm always having problem with vintage decals sticking.
That actually moves pretty quick for a Tamiya chassis Ari, I love the paint & sticker job that you've done on this.
Cant go wrong with box art sometimes... I actually is even quicker than what you see in the video. I was going light on the throttle. I needed a bigger parking lot.
Wow, you've done a fantastic job of that bodyshell, it looks awesome! And the car itself runs really well, quicker than I expected, and very quiet. Awesome video as always!!
Thanks. The Car is even quicker that what you saw in the video... I was going light on the throttle... and yes it is quiet... and smooth...
It looks beautiful! I remember looking at these in the old Tower Hobbies catalogs and wanting one! Of course I wanted pretty much every car and truck in there, still do!!! I don't blame you for setting it aside after your run, I would too. To great of a classic car to go beat up, you can get a TT02 and do that type of driving! Great car and thanks for sharing it with us all!
Thanks for the comment and support. It did get a little scraped up on the bottom... but nothing crazy.... I"m looking forward to getting another group C chassis the Benz C11 that is being rereleased... I'll beat up on that....
Looks awesome man, Pretty funny body clips though
Looks Great 😊 A nice runner Ari
A motor so nice, it deserves a pinky up display😉👍
pinky up all the time....lol...
Nice job on the body there Ricky-Bobby...
haha great movie.... shake and bake...
Looks great! That motor gets it up to speed quickly! Looking forward to those future builds 🙌🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the comment and support.
Looks great! Runs well too.
Awesome build, looks great and runs smooth. 👍
Thanks for the comment and support.
@@RCRetro forgot to mention that i have a box in really good condition for the Dynatech motor. But it will probably cost you a kidney and a leg just for shipping :(
@@mattiasrc Where are you located?
Sweden
@@mattiasrc Not so bad...I just had two bodies that were painted for me sent from Finland. Shipping wasn't so bad but it took about 3 weeks to get here lol... can you send me pics? Akap23@gmail.com thanks
Awesome car. I wish Tamiya would rere it someday
They are rereleasing the Benz C11 on the same chassis. try Mcallister racing rc (google it) I believe they have nascar bodies.. maybe not this one but others...
Love it! Looks great!!
Is it as fast as it looks? That motor is so smooth...great build, good job with all the decals!
It is actually faster. I wasn't giving it full throttle.. parking lot wasn't big enough and there were rocks....parking lot was just paved and construction took place around the outer perimeter of the lot so there were a lot of pebbles and little rocks. Those foam tires had no grip either. If I punched it off the line... things would spin out.. I had to start off slow and gradually build up speed..
and yes it is super smooth.
@@RCRetro Roads out here on Long Island are so bad...even the freshly paved roads have so much debris from the sand/salt trucks. Can't wait for spring!
It needs a Dale Sr. Wrangler body shell and paint scheme in blue and yellow.
Love it!!!!
I'm glad you did it box art I think it's entirely boxer right?
of course its box art....only 1 stickers isn't in the right place cause I didn't like the way it looked on the back of the car.
I thought that motor would be faster on that car as well as I swear that motor had adjustable time and I think you should turn it all the way up and it shouldn't be a shelf Queen.lol
It is faster... and it could go faster than what you saw in the video. I wasn't even giving it full throttle...I need a bigger parking lot... the foam tires weren't gripping so I would have too start off slow and gradually increasing throttle...Plus there were a lot of rocks and pebbles in the lot from construction. It got pretty nicked up on the bottom of the chassis. Still looks good through. yes the motor does have adjustable timing....I'm very aware....I have 3 of these motors..but like I said, I was going to take it easy and not go too crazy with it. Thanks for the comment and support.
kick ass
Dude I'm a dyed in the wool tamiya nut and i barely remember this tamiya kit was it on the original tamiya 100 list
I have the box for that motor with a brand new motor in it still factory sealed never opened in mint condition the box is it even has some clear plastic over the box guess that how they shipped it toy dad when he ordered a few ad backups for racing and no need for heat gun and warm soapy water I do full size racecars that i race oval track with soapy water spray bottle and squeegee but heat gun good idea for rc cars somit sticks faster
Since making this video, a viewer sent me a box for the motor that was in really good condition. Hold onto that motor my friend as it was Tamiya's very first hop up part. I even use the warm soap and water on some of my new RC's that have stickers that are difficult to place. Once I get it to where it needs to be, squeeze out the water and hit with a blow dryer. I'll eventually get a heat gun which should work better.
@@RCRetro thanks for tip I'll try hot water see if it works better for me on the lexan rc bodies and yea I did some research and those motors I got are kind of. A collectors item I'm not gonna even use them in any of my RC carpet cars I race but the few vintage Tamiya carpet pan cars I have for oval and road course the one the is open and used I'm gonna put it in for show basically so it's a period correct tamiya oval pan car.
Have u started running with lipo's yet?
I have 2s Lipo's that fit Tamiya RC's. I have used them when I first started my channel and just ran them on the baseball fields or skatepark. I ran them in the concrete skate park not to bash or jump them, but because the concrete was super smooth. When I met harry and became friends with him and started to use his track and race we all agreed to use NIMH batteries. Perhaps a few running vids this upcoming spring I can try out and use some LIPOs just so we have longer and more consistent run times when filming.
I just recently ordered a TA03R Mobile 1 NSX used and this Days of thunder unbuilt was in the lot. Though the car was unbuilt the body however was painted. Where might I find this body to replace it and should I build the car or simply keep it unbuilt on a shelf?
What do you think about june watenabi blockhead motors and wild one release
where'd you pre-order your optima mid through?
Peut on trouver encore ces pneus mousse?
Evo and optima mid on my long list lol
Yuck first
