    I wish more people made videos showing their property buying experiences in Costa Rica since my wife and I hope to live there in 2 years. Thanx!

      Thanks. We couldn't find this type of info readily available either, hence we are making these videos. We think it will be good info even as prices change through the years.

      You might consider joining the Association of Residents of Costa Rica (ARCR) that assists people moving to CR. Do can hire a reputable atty there to help you with the purchase of property. Or you can hire a good atty through the American Embassy's referral list. Beware of crooked deals

      Absolutely! I could not agree more. Regardless of where you are from, things work differently in Costa Rica. Buying a particular place has so many do's and don'ts and can's and can'ts. Hiring a reputable property attorney will help ensure you get what you are expecting and limit surprises. Water rights, land uses, how the property paperwork is structured etc etc. Anyone can be a realtor in Costa Rica. ANYONE. Do not buy anything without a reputable lawyer being involved.

      Thanks! We are going to document our entire experience and hopefully help others along the way. In 2026, maybe we can enjoy a Pilsen together at Cocomar, Zi or Coconutz.

    Great choice we stayed in that apartment last year we loved the pool! Nice walk to beach hope you have been able to go to Playa Penca such a beautiful beach.

      Thanks! After seeing the inside of them all, it wasn't that hard of a choice, to be honest. We have been extremely happy with it and are trying to get out as much as possible to see all that this wonderful country has to offer. We have spent a good bit of time in Playa Hermosa, just haven't ventured over into Playa Penca as of yet. Will do soon.

    love the new channel. I was in that same area last week for my 2nd trip there. Is there a lot of hoops you need to go though to buy a place there? I'm looking to buy a small place for my self. thanks

      Thanks for the question. We haven't actually closed on it yet. Stayed tuned, as our next video will cover exactly that, the ins and outs of what we did to close on the property. We plan to document our entire experience to help others see if this process is something for them.

      Agree. And that honestly was the actual order that we visited properties and units. Maybe Ian did have a plan.

    Great video of the condo searching process! Please include the monthly condo maintenance fees 'the nut" required with your purchase or maybe even the other properties too. Pura vida!

    • @SwannJunction
      @SwannJunction  7 месяцев назад

      Most of the ones we looked into were around $250 USD per month for HOA fees. These fees cover ground maintenance, pool maintenance and security (if they have it). Pacifico was over $600 per month I am told.

      Wow, thank you so much for the info! As someone who is trying to reduce my HOA and property tax overhead on my rentals in Texas, I am looking for CR options that I can move my rental property assets to an awesome and rentable area without the huge "nut" that I have here. Y'all inspire me to get my sh@@ together and finally get down there for major parts of the year.
      Thanks again. @@SwannJunction

      Yeah, our external car mount was in the mail. We are all set for the next one. :) But honestly, there was quite a bit of driving around, so we tried to stay true to the experience.

    Do the condos come furnished in costa rica?

    • @SwannJunction
      @SwannJunction  2 месяца назад

      It’s up to the seller of course but generally yes. All of the ones we have seen did. Sometimes one may have been recently renovated and may come unfurnished but not often.

      Sorry to hear that. However, that has not been our experience, but this video is about shopping for a condo in Costa Rica rather than a marketing campaign for El Coco. Hopefully you will find a place that suits your needs.
