    Hello, by any chance does anyone know anything about Ocotal Beach condos that begin construction a decade ago, there was a huge fuss about it because they never had water permits in place, there was organization created with lawyers…. Does anyone know what ever happened with that complex?

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica

      I haven't heard anything about that...but you do have to be careful about new developments in Costa Rica.

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  Год назад

      Unless you are a local (Tico) living in Costa Rica...financing a property is ALMOST not going to happen. You might find a local who will Owner finance it...IF you have a big enough down payment.

    I’m from Costa Rica but currently living in USA. I want to purchase land and I’m familiar with the areas I have in mind. I have family all over the country and I visited these areas.
    Can I purchase a property or land from the USA ?
    Thank you so much!

    On the Real… BE BRUTALLY HONEST
    In your opinion, how much has the prices gone up since you live there ?!?
    For example, give me a percentage of inflation. Just ballpark it for me. Thanks.

    • @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica
      @OffTheGridHomesteadCostaRica  Месяц назад

      That's a good question and my guess is, YOU ARE NEW to my channel. If you have watched for any time, you know I am BRUTALLY HONEST about everything. LOL
      I wish I could give you a percentage, but I don't think I can be accurate, but I'll give you a few examples.
      First, I don't think CR has been hit by inflation as bad as in the STATES. But they have because CR doesn't make much of it's own things....so much is imported from the states.
      A local 12 oz. beer, used to cost about 1,200 colones and now, on avg, it is 1,700.
      A Liter bottle, you could get easy for 1,400 and when inflation was terrible, it jumped to 1,800 but dropped to an avg of 1,500.
      One of my fav meals is shrimp and rice at a resturant. Most places I could get it for 4,000 but now, it is common to get it for 6,000.
      Gas has gone up a lot, but it comes back down.
      When it comes to rent...you can still get CHEAP rent.
      A loaf of bread used to be 800 colones but now it's 1,500 colones
      Keep in mind...I might be remembering wrong on some of these...but in my opinion, inflation in CR has not been nearly as bad as most places...but it is obvious it has gone up.
      I hope that helps.
