Yamaha we never saw that. How can you decrease internal memory from a 500GB ()T5 to 58 (Genos) and now to 15 GB ???? What the point here ? The cost of the memory ? Common it's really sad to see that in 2023. Expansion memory has decrease to from 4GB to 3 GB. I'm really desappointed. The memory are really cheap today. Why an instrument of 5000 get a 15gb memory ???? I cannot face it. I wouldn't upgrade just for this. Because i got impression you are kidding with your customer and don't listen to then
@@alexlifeson8946 I think so too. Why Yamaha reduced the user drive space and didn't increase the expansion memory size is a mystery, maybe they finalized the technical designs when storage and memory was really expensive. And I fully agree it is a very stupid decision by them - how on earth could you release a new keyboard 6 years later with even worse specs? But in reality 15GB is plenty of space, someone mentioned they might need "43 takes of a piece of music", and sure, if you do this for several days it will eventually fill up. But where's the issue here - just delete the old takes or move them to USB? I do see the issue if you have A LOT of samples and acapella tracks, but that seems like an edge case. Filling 15GB up with MIDI and styles will not happen.. Still waiting for my G2, so I don't if this is possible, but maybe play those samples and acapellas from USB? Or compress them to MP3? I hope they will increase the available space, at least for expansion packs, with an OS upgrade later.
@@RonsonDenmark You're supposed to save everything to a computer DAW. There's no need to have all that memory going at once to make real-time music. But, that price tag is ridiculously high. I'll pick one up when it's around $2000
Wow they didnt change the old fashioned storage mode to a direct access mode! Do they think the users are so stupid to love switching off the genos2 several times to access the User memory or the Hard Drive from a PC?
2:35 "New content", you have all the old Yamaha sounds as legacy, but not all the old styles, these aren't much data. When you have modified a style, revoiced, you have to store the style itself as new style, not storing the modifications in registration, because registration won't apply it, if the style doesn't exist exactly as the original.
@@stevesolitaire5013 Does your "No" mean, that the Genos 1 wouldn't accept the styles in general as the PSR 8000 couldn't run PSR 9000 styles? Or is it, as playing Tyros 5 styles on Tyros 3, that the missing voices will be replaced by other ones, what are pretty wrong?
@@robfriedrich2822 the styles from Genos 2 not work correctly or work only 5% or totaly not !!! because of the new sounds or new drumsets and many other things !! have old styles in Genos 2 but they are making new in Genos 2 but they not work too !!! i try myself and i tell you than better play only with good styles on Genos 1 !!! or buy the Genos 2 :)
My stunning Tyros5, with its 500GB storage (!!!!!), is still more than I will ever need, so Genos 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - whatever the future holds - can stay in the showroom, as far as I'm concerned.
Sorry Yamaha shame on You :( before 3GB for samples on Genos 1 and now the same ???? we live in 2024 sorry but my Iphone have more Memory !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very useful information thanks 🙏

Cannot do it because I have 43gb of storage in genos1 doesn’t fit on genos now
Why do you have 50 hours worth of CD-quality audio on your keyboard? I think you are using it wrong..

One question: Is it possible to use GENOS 2 styles on a GENOS 1?
Thanks for an answer!
NO
