    Looks very useful. It reminds me a lot of the Bosch Hole saw I already have for some time now.

    QC is great... but you cannot stack the hole saws in order to center a new larger hole on an old small hole. Which can be super handy.

    Had the Bosch version with a 5/16 (or whatever freedom unit it is) shank or whatever freedom unit it is for ages. Works really well, but the collets do get very jammed and fiddly after they've copped some plaster dust, like on every construction site ever

    I prefer my impact when drilling, including large holes. Instead of a drill wrenching your wrist if it binds up, the impact will just go into impact mode. Plus it's a compact set up.

    • @AllTattedUp13
      @AllTattedUp13 10 месяцев назад +1

      Or get a new drill with a clutch/anti kick back.

    • @rts3613
      @rts3613 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@AllTattedUp13 Why spend the money and take up space in the truck, when I already have a tool that does the job. I have several drills with clutches that only get used for small hammer drilling needs. The problem with the clutches, is they slip and stop drilling by design, the impact goes into impact mode and hammers through. If I were a plumber or an electrician it might make sense, but as a remodeling and home repair contractor the impact does the job perfectly for me. The impact is also compact, my SDS hammer drill is longer than 16" and won't fit in tight spaces or between studs. Impact for the win!

    That's great, about time they come up with a new design. One of the problems with the old design is the hole saws get stuck on the mandrel, every freaking time.
    *Just two things I would add to this new design, a few longer drill bits and cylindrical guides going on or replacing those drill bits. Guides to center new larger holes on smaller holes.

    Usually, I can keep my drill-driver under control. It's that damned Hole Hawg that I throw back into the shop and tell them to give me a proper Right-Angle Drill. Far more leverage and a better clearance, Clarence, on the Head Depth.
    And yeah, those look nice.
    Now I need to get an SDS Head tool.

    Yeah bosch or lenox made this system decades ago when I did hvac in the early 2000s. Dont know if they had an sds mandrel back then. I tried to use them, but the cost was high and I was a young struggling tech, so i got tired of changing mandrel adapters and went back to snap pin mandrels since they are universal. Spyders system is pretty nice too, as a kit they are priced well. I think my tct hole kit w tct pilot bit was under 100.

    I'm not sure if you say that it's new for the comments, but a-a. this is not new at all. not even the shaft.
    Makita ezychange has a video about this exact design that is from 2009. It's a 15 years old video. Bosch progressor has one vid which is from 2015. Thats 9 years old. You could get them with sds-plus, 1/4 quick hex, 7/16 quick hex, 8mm regular hex shafts.
