4K makes a difference if you’re viewing on a 4K monitor, or resolutions beyond 1080,, absolutely. Even an iPad Pro can easily show the clarity of 4K video. I only record in 4K now, and with good compression codecs you can make 1080 look old. I can never go back.

Josh Beideman, I'm glad you mentioned that. I'm a paranormal investigator, and looking to get a good 4k camera, but it HAS to work well in low light and dark with IR. The Panasonic's seem to have the best Lux rating for that, but I'll admit, I'm a newbie when it comes to all of this stuff.

i love the camera. check my channel my first panasonic I hated it and returned it then went and bought it again. that is all I have used since.. this camera is awesome.. i dont really care if you think it is a sales pitch or review. i dont know. you can view this with wifi to control the camera from your cellphone with the panasonic app but not sure you can live stream from a distance. look up the panasonic APP to see what it says

I checked the official Panasonic user manual for these camcorders. Both have cold shoes.
This is important, because an external mic needs its own power source in this case.
