    Its a real strange one that you sack your manager a few days before a cup final. Then you put the managers job in the hands of a rookie, and then lose the cup final. Especially when you haven't won a trophy for so long. Can you imagine if Gary Neville was a chairman and did this. Simon would be laying into him mercilessly. I do like Simon, but sometimes you can really see his hypocrisy.

    • @tomeggleston367
      @tomeggleston367 8 месяцев назад +1

      No what's strange is your rewriting of history. Jose had utterly lost the dressing room before that Final. It was obvious we were playing abysmally and had zero chance of winning it as things were. Levy took a Hail Mary on appointing Mason for the Final - a guy many of the players had played with under the Poch era. Admittedly that didn't work either 😆

      The reason we haven't won a trophy for so long is because we have been competing with different resources to the old top 4 (and now CIty and Newcastle too). We used to finish about 14th-16th when Levy started, with a wage cap of £40k reserved for Ledley King. Bit by bit Levy got us regularly qualifying for the UCL over either Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea. Even Liverpool and City. That's a brilliant achievement for a self-funded club...and shows we are moving rapidly in the right direction. It's no wonder rival fans hate to see it and spend hours of their week commenting on it online! 🤣

    Those that keep babbling on about Simon defending Levy are on a whole different intellectual spectrum than Simon himself lol. I suppose this modern world has made us want to always criticise and crucify people that does not appease us. As a Tottenham fan, and being used to never competing for the league titles an witnessing spurs being spursy, Levy has still managed to bring me joy, more joy than clubs like Everton, Newcastle etc heck, even more joy than Arsenal in the last 6 season and spurs fans are so unappreciated of the stabilisation of Levy has achieved with Spurs in the last 2 decades. Levy made a simple observation, when spurs are high and winning, the manager is on top of the world; but as soon as we start losing, on comes the Levy out chants. It's no wonder many of you can't grasp Simon's intellectual observation on the matter of Levy's position at Spurs so on comes the vague response.... "Simon defending Levy, best of pals" - this vagueness is totally misrepresenting and I'm sure Simon will tell you that himself. As a spurs fan, Saka is the best RW in the league. Levy's only legacy is the stadium, end of. Spurs on the pitch have gone backwards, they used to be a real big player in the league but no more. 😎

    • @tomeggleston367
      @tomeggleston367 8 месяцев назад

      What are you talking about? Spurs used to finish 14th-17th when Levy took over in 2001. You really do relentlessly talk out of your backside!😆 As well as building the best stadium and training ground about (which will serve the club for at least the next 70-80 years) he has at the same time had Spurs regularly finishing above Arsenal, Man U, Chelsea over the last decade and even above Klopp's Liverpool and Pep's Guardiola - all while paying a fraction of the wages and transfer fees. To claim that under Levy "Spurs on the pitch have gone backwards" is the utterance of a clown.

Conte like José did not get best out of players, look at Bissouma. He was unlucky with World cup and death to Ventrone and own illness.. its not Black and white

    For me it comes down to what Keown said. How come serial winners Mourinho and Conte couldn't win anything at Spurs? Levy is culpable because he wasn't going to financially back win now managers so it was stupid employing them in the first place. At least he admitted he made a mistake.

    The only reason Conte failed was Harry Kane he had too much power, Conte could not even stop him taking direct free kicks. And Conte said from the start it would take time and that players bought would need to play his way. He got us to the top 4 and was a hero, unfortunately some Spurs fans have no patience and are now slagging Conte off.

    I’m a Tottenham fan and I can understand Levy’s decisions as a chairman. Our fanbase has unrealistic expectations from our team that we should be competing for all the trophies available. And that’s unrealistic considering the financial power of Man City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and now Newcastle. I can say Tottenham have overachieved considering the amount money they spent compared to other big teams in the premier league. I can understand the frustration of our fanbase because we were close to winning the league and gotten to champions league final but unable to win it. Had we won one of those, it would’ve been a huge monkey off our back. But it is what it is and for me, Daniel Levy is the best chairman we can have.

    • @SaxonGlory
      @SaxonGlory 8 месяцев назад +3

      But nobody is comparing Spurs to those clubs. Leicester won the league and the FAcup. Why can't Spurs? You're using a straw man to defend him. Spurs have the 10th highest revenue in Europe but the 20th in wages. He doesn't put Spurs 1st he puts his pocket 1st.
