But in the world of supply and demand, why not get them to pay for their ticket and the police cost. That was the owners point.
And I’ll also note, its not just his club thats doing this.
Also curious if this was a way for Wrexham to deflect attention away from the fans being upset about kit and ticket prices at home lately.

Average Attendance at Wham Stadium before the Wrexham match: 2,437
    Total Attendance at the Wrexham/Accrington Game: 5,261 (2,587 Wrexham & 2,674 Accrington)
Average Game: £48,740 (2,437 attendees paying full price tickets at £20) with no extra police costs = £48,740 Revenue (adjusted for police costs)
Wrexham Game: £131,525 (5,261 attendees paying full price tickets at £25) with £13,000 (rounded up) police costs = £118,525 (adjusted for police costs)
    Additional In-Pocket Ticket Revenue: £82,785
Additional In-Pocket Ticket Revenue (adjusted for increased police costs): £69,785
Additional In-Pocket Ticket Revenue Broken Down by Source (not adjusted for police costs):
    237 Increased Accrington ticket sales over average (2674-2437) at £25 = £5,925
2437 Average Accrington fans paying an extra £5 = £12,185

Wrexham did not take a swipe. Gave a suitable response to a price hike which will benefit Accrington fans. Appears the Accrington owner doesn’t like his supporters.

He wanted Wrexham fans pay for his total police bill. Gouging visiting fans as a money-grabber.

Price gauging fans just because their away crowd dwarfs your home crowd is a snide move, however you try to spin it.

Age of 5 he was pushing his own barrow. Age of 10 he was pushing 5 barrows and paying his mother a respectable wage to push one herself. The man is a legend and if he wants to up the price the rabble better damn well pay

How many times is SJ going to have to say that he sympathises with Holt re Wrexham poking the bear, but as revenues from the away support outweigh the cost implications, shut up about it!

The top and bottom of it is … you have a choice… go to the game and pay the money OR stay away… it’s that easy, nobody’s forcing anyone to travel to watch football, it’s personal choice.
