      Rorqs are fixable without taking a hammer to the entire economy. Many solutions have been suggested already but CCP does not want to listen. I don't think assuming that they have different priorities to the playerbase would be much of a stretch. I've been hearing a lot of Doom & gloom about this. My perspective is that for some time now EvE has been subdivided into two separate games mostly defined by security zones. I think this move is congruent with CCP's recent comments in an effort to make different regions more reliant upon each other's existence. Null is basically the same as high sec where player alliances & corps assume the role of the NPC corps and low is just a place to go to pick a random fight. I can see the forced commerce between high and null bringing those two together while turning low into a real pirates paradise. There's gonna be fallout here that is not just about commerce, at least I hope.

    • @viktoriyaserebryakov2755
      @viktoriyaserebryakov2755 4 года назад

      CCP insists that a shortage is required. They have not shared why nor have they actually shared exactly what problem it is they are trying to fix. The way they've set this up has made it difficult for anybody to criticise their actions but a lot of people certainly do not trust their motives. They haven't given us much reason to. And have made a habit of 'fixing' problems by taking a hammer to the undisclosed problem and everything around it.

    • @jasonwaltman3566
      @jasonwaltman3566 4 года назад

      @@viktoriyaserebryakov2755 that's fair to say. Conversely they have always been pretty good with putting to use the excessive amount of data at their disposal. Gonna be a wait n see. Like I said I hope this shakes up the separation between the beginner and endgame communities.

      @viktoriyaserebryakov2755 4 года назад +1

      @@jasonwaltman3566 I'd disagree. If I were to make an example I'd bring up the number of titans CCP initially expected to exist in the game. Then how many there are now. They seem to believe they must change the entire economy to address this. But I'd like to ask you how many Moloks do you think are in the game right now? Are faction supers not exactly what CCP had at first envisioned? They know exactly how to do it. I'd even say they very well wanted not to. For so long they used these large battles and super capitals as marketing in an attempt to lure more people into the game at the cost of it's health and instead they've chased people away.
      So no I really don't trust CCP at all. As I understand it. CCP had a full time economist on hand. Had. If that's true and I'm not being deceived when I'm being told they've let that person go already then it certainly begins to make a little more sense to me as to why it appears that they're just throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks. They're drying up the supply to... "see what it does to the market." They know full well what it's going to do. So no. I don't believe them.
      I'm actually all for dynamic ore spawns or something similar. I have been for some time. But what they're doing isn't making all that much sense. I don't see why you should have to to attack somebody to mine their resources, and they you to mine yours. That makes no sense. And whatever effect they're looking to achieve there can be done so and more simply so. They need to take each individual problem and address them individually instead of making sweeping changes thinking it will only make changes for the better without dire and 'unforeseen' consequences.

    • @viktoriyaserebryakov2755
      @viktoriyaserebryakov2755 4 года назад

      @C That doesn't explain why the supply must be artificially removed. I can understand procedural generation. I'm an advocate for it actually. I can also understand why less wealth would also be good for the game. I like both of these things. But none of these explain the other. Offensive mining? Real life wars? That is nothing like real life. I don't understand what he's trying to achieve and I guarantee you that whatever he's trying to do it can be done without making such broad and risky changes.
      Is he trying to make the game more exciting? Is he trying to bottleneck super capital production? Reduce average income? Nerf Rorquals? Like what is the specific issue here and which of his actions address which problem. I can just about guarantee you that between me and you if we went through each of those problems one step at a time we could come up with alternative solutions that don't affect everything else. I don't think these people can be complete morons so I'm inclined to believe that their interests don't necessarily align with ours.

    • @viktoriyaserebryakov2755
      @viktoriyaserebryakov2755 4 года назад

      @C Such changes always hurt the little guy more. The large alliances only have to sit on their stockpiles and minimise losses until we see better times again. I'd say there's even less reason to fight. It'll be too costly. Meanwhile everybody else starves in an environment already inhospitable to new alliances. An even greater disadvantage than before. Null sec will adapt. Which is exactly why these changes will reduce the power one can wield but it will never change the balance of said power. They need to be much more surgical with their proposed changes. And each change needs to address one very specific problem. We can't treat symptoms as the problem and be surprised when problems keep arising.
      For example. If we were to focus specifically on nullifying over reliance on Rorquals. Remove the drones. Turn the siege module into a long cycling mining beam that extracts ore from one target throughout the cycle. Redistribute or spawns so that only certain ore types will spawn as large asteroids. Everything else spawns as more numerous and smaller asteroids. All of a sudden attempting to mine everything with Rorquals is inefficient. Rorquals now have their role on the game. Exhumers now have a job to do as well. Both are now needed. So if the very specific problem we're addressing here is Rorquals solving every problem. Then this very specific solution hopefully addresses that with minimal alterations to everything else in the game. That's the kind of approach I wish CCP would take to things. Not everything is a nail. There are a lot of good ideas out there in the community. Keep smacking everything with a hammer and you're going to break more than you fix.

    Honestly this is all pointing towards making small gang/small corp mining more powerful. Which has always been the ultimate goal of the game. Requiring fewer and fewer people needed to make an impact on the market means more and more smaller groups of people can truly enjoy the EVE endgame.
    I've flown for test alliance back in the day (Late Apochypha. Thinking with wormholes) and the people required to hold 0.0 is rediculous. It makes sense if you can put up a solid financial fight with 100 people vs 1000.

    I'm actually a bit worried over all this. As funny as it is to see so many people crying, this is a massive hit all at once for a large amount of people. I have never mined much, and don't own a Rorqual but do have an alt character in a mostly mining/industrial corp. Between this and the DDOS and other past issues, a lot of people have actually quit. I honestly feel bad for the people who did spend tons of time skilling into careers that change drastically to the point its not what they want to do anymore. On average we had maybe 30-50 people on at peak times and now there is like 5-10 and it feels really gloomy and, yeah, now others are questioning it. I've gained approx 15 billion in just ISK and one Carrier I can't even pilot from people just handing away assets. Again, funny that people are doing this...maybe, but also scary in a game that already feels empty sometimes.

    I remember that last year full ore hold would give you some 390-550k ISK in ore sales (high sec mining) and some 225-450k in mineral reprocessing (minus charges ofc).
    Today i sold one hold of Veldspar+Plagioclase for 650k ISK and then when I reprocessed roughly same amount in second run, minerals were worth of 740k (In Amarr). Couple of days back I sold hold full of reprocessed Scordite in Jita for 850k.
    Prices are totally crazy. It's more worth to just sell minerals alone instead of ore and small scale manufacturing is just plain 50% loss.

    Like all of the changes in the last few years. It is a matter of wait and see. Most of the complaint is coming from Null-Sec Rorqual miners.
    Personally I do not value moon specific ores, so the removal of standard ores would reduce the attraction to setup on a moon.
    Some of the high-end minerals are available from Emerging Conduits. I am certainly curious to see if the increases the interest to mine there. Because, picture the situation. A Conduit in a given system would normally spawn after 10 minutes. But now, if the miners are holding the site down while they mine over a period of several hours - does this prevent the re-spawn of a fresh Conduit?
    In separate/adjacent point - I would like to see Outer Ring Excavations more accessible to mission for. There are two NPC Null systems which contain the Agents of ORE, which are pretty much camped 23/7. A future change to something like the Learning Implant removal, would make the Harvest Implant set more desirable to utilize. Additions like ORE faction upgrades and surveyors add some scope to barge/frigate mining, playing into the Risk/Reward metric.

    Due to the recent changes to the resource distribution in New Eden, I have an idea for a topic you might consider for one of your videos. While I like CCP trying to reduce the self sufficiency of different groups by moving ore around and lowering the overall quantity. I think that a better and more lasting change would be to implement a system that effects the resources and their distribution density based on actual mining activity. What I envision is a system that can push resources around the map forcing a more dynamic interaction on the very base level of the game. And preventing the stagnation of supply chains and self sufficiency of large areas of space.
    These changes in my opinion should effect moon mining, asteroid belts, ice belts, and resources anomaly's.
    I deeply feel that this could be a huge positive change for the game and could introduce entire new niche areas of gameplay for players to carve out.

      I'm a solo Rorqual with two exhumers helping me. Why am I being punished for focusing a years worth of skill points. I'm being shafted. I build stuff, I don't sell Ore and my killboard is very green. I'm not a carebear this entire change hurts players who focused on one area.

    • @dusk1947
      @dusk1947 4 года назад

      @@The_Conqueeftador part of the problem was the dislike of "carebears" in the first place, pushing out players who enjoy that play style and could have grown as players only lessens the number of active players and cuts CCP's revenues.
      Second was how CCP managed the resource economy in game. They built a system that is top heavy and allows for rapid generations of base materials, this skewed the economy.
      Originaly there were large numbers of small indy pilots who valued resource generation, we effecivly had an army of workers gathering. But that playstyle was activly hunted and largely pushed out of the game. So instead of an army of workers, we then had a select few elites capable of gathering the same qualities (enter capital industrials). But the number of elites has grow to now be an army of elites, watering down an economy that was designed for exumers and barges. You as a player didn't create those conditions, you saw an opening and perused it. But you capitalizing a game system doesn't make it anymore or any less sustainable or stable.
      CCP should value overall market health over the gains or losses of any individual player, if not the market will get out of hand and collapse other areas of the game

I always got a laugh at being able to repeatedly mine the same belts day after day. I always thought it would be more realistic if you mined the same asteroid for months, before moving on to the next asteroid.
    If they diminish the amount of ores that can be mined, eventually the pew-pew kings will run out of ships.
