One thing I love about Punch Out Wii is the detail. Seeing the boxers receive physical injuries during the fight, like bruises, bandages, swole marks, punch marks and even messed up hair and facial hair on their bodies after the sustain enough injuries is a nice touch.
Although, I think Don Flamenco seriously lacks in that department. Maybe it's because I haven't played Punch Out Wii in a long time, but I can't really remember Don Flamenco receiving a lot of physical injuries after he loses. The most I remember is a black eye and his toupee coming off.
Flamenco gets a few bandages if the fight lasts long enough. On that note though, Great Tiger is practically uninjured with the exception of the bandages, no bruises or swole marks whatsoever
@@robbierotten2874 Like I said, I haven't played Punch Out Wii in a long time, so my memories are a tad vague.
Don gets bruised and beat up a lot, he doesn't lack in that department at all. Great Tiger is the one who's always the least injured, only having like two or three bandages.

If I’m correct, there is a way where if you can knock him out before he loses his toupee he still keeps it when you look at him in the career results screen

@@jollythecool In a guide book about Super Punch Out which had infos about the characters and their backstory, it was said that Aran Ryan was actually bullied for his name pronounciation which led him to be the aggressive guy he is

I'm pretty sure their injuries depend on how badly they were beaten.
I took a look at Don Flamenco in one save file, and he had a black eye. And in another, he didn't.

It depends on how many punches they took and how long the match lasted. Also seems like 3-star punches does the most damage than lots of normal punches. For maximum injury, try to last the 3 rounds hitting them with nothing but 3-star punches. Some of them get really messed up!
It depends too on how many punches you thrown to a zone of the enemy (the head or the stomache)
FUN FACT: if you only do hooks and not jabs, their appearance can be a lot different.
Like Disco Kid, he’ll hold his stomach, but his face is clear as day.
I knew this cuz when I first started playing, I didn’t know jabs existed 😅

a 18 year old Mike Tyson was ungodly strong so its not that far off, Ali might be the most decorated fighter ever, but when it comes to being the absolute best specimen ever in the history of boxing, Tyson was it
Actually Mac's punch deals less damage than the weakest move in punch out except for his Star punch but seeing how he punched Great Tiger and Soda Popinski pretty high up considering their weight and height is pretty impressive and yeah guess he is godly.
The real godly fighter is Glass Joe for putting up with a 1-99 record. He still chooses to wake up and fight with sheer hopes of winning again.
More like the other fighters are all lame clowns😂.

I like how, despite them being severely injured after their bouts with Little Mac, they're just standing in the different corners of a boxing ring in the middle of an empty stadium dealing with them.
Next Level Games really went above and beyond with these characters: design upgrades, voice acting, animation, and all. Here's hoping we get another Punch-Out game in the future!

He was forced to relive a traumatic experience, so it's understandable that he'd be trembling in shock and fear. Imagine how terrible it must be to be a boxing teacher who gets beat up by the children that you've been teaching.

I feel like I should mention there's a scale of how beaten an opponent gets. Prolonging the fight makes em look worse and worse, so honestly, beating em fast is kinda a mercy. More degrading, but they aren't as battered.

The music for the campaign character selection is so good, man. It perfectly represents the feeling of fighting a new challenger, and looking at the people who you’ve previously crushed.

I used to think that the fact that von kaiser was traumatized by a punch to the stomach was a reference to the fact that in the NES punch out the best way to beat him was to punch him in the stomach.
If they make another punch out game, they gotta make Nick Bruiser the last fighter, that would be the killer finale

Did you know that if you got an opponent in the stomach enough, their stomach will get damaged. I found that out in a video where a player new to punch out played the game
I love how Aran Ryan after being defeated looks more than ready for another fight. TD Glass Joe and TD Mr sandman aren’t really hurt, just confused at how they lost with their new powers. TD Glass Joe: just realizes that maybe isn’t cut out for boxing after all. (In fairness his one win was a freak accident against Nick Bruiser.) TD Mr sandman: able to destroy a building with his bare fists, and still can’t beat that teenager.

You can tell exactly what's going through each fighter's head after they've been beaten, the animators did a great job!

I actually did 2 entire playthroughs of the game where i only punched their heads in one and only their stomach's in the other (No star punches). I found that if you only focus on hitting one area the entire fight, the bruises/scars become much more apparent and noticable.
In the file where you only hit them in the stomach, how hard were popinski and bull?
@@Nintentoni Just checked it now. Popinski was impossible to KO/TKO with only stomach punches in Contender & Title Defense Mode, I could only win by decision. Bull was actually possible to TKO in the 3rd round on Contender but impossible in TD, so decision again. Another thing of note is Popinski has no stomach bruises/marks at all which is strange.

@@Nintentoni From what I remember stomach punches were the hardest because some fights needed head punches to knock em down quickly. Bear Hugger, King Hippo and Soda come to mind as being a pain to get through.
