Is there a possibility that the Social Credit System only exists as a meme, while some ignorant utubers believed it and made some really serious explanation 😅 I'm gonna say this video itself is even funnier than the memes🤣🤣🤣
This video is full of errors and assumptions. China's social credit system does not use citizens' private data, nor does it affect basic welfare. It only restricts non-essential consumption for those who have defaulted on their loans for a long time, such as first-class airplanes, high-speed rail business seats, etc.
That what you think. A lot of Chinese watch supposedly banned stuff to see how the west vilify China. Westerners on the other hand usually aren’t capable to of reading any Asian language so are limited to news from echo chambers.
This is absolutely false news. As a Chinese, I have never heard of this so-called social credit score. In China, there is only one credit investigation system, which is mainly used for bank loans. If you obtain a loan from a bank but do not return it on time, your credit investigation system will be recorded, and you will no longer be able to borrow from the bank to buy a house or car in the future. You can't live in star-rated hotels, take high-speed trains, planes, and other high-value spending. Other than that, there are no other effects.
In addition, the loan from the bank is not repaid on time. Generally, it is not possible to buy a house or car from the bank for large consumption within five years, which is not permanent. As long as you pay off the loan, the system will automatically eliminate bad records within a few years.
Nobody: Not a single soul: Literally not a single soul that has ever been in existence: This guy's search history: help i *accidentally* threw a dead body into a woodchipper!
You can complain at your nearest CCP office by filling out a complaint with an empty pen. In order to proceed the complaint you'll get a new document with a full pen where you have to check to which CCP member you would like to give you belongings after death and choose an execution date. That's the most and last democracy you can see in China :)

@@TheTudor111 not all of them. Some are too poor, and some habe governments that actually serve the people. Not all of us are under the Supreme Commander In Chief Lord President or Her Royal Highness, owner all of all dolphins the Queen.
Corruption is far from the biggest concern here. The video talks about cameras but while facial recognition has gotten really good and you can identify _where_ someone is, translating that information into what they're doing and whether their action is good or bad is still a long way out of the realm of current computers. So China's taken a less technical and far more insidious approach -- they expect you to rat out your neighbors, friends and family. And if say, your sister gets caught doing something that lowers her score and the authorities deem you knew about it and failed to report her, it also lowers your score. So China over the next decade or so is going to become a _very_ paranoid country. Not paranoid about foreign attacks or terrorism or anything that we in the West worry about, but about their friends and family. And they're concerns will be much more statistically valid. It'll basically be what the US was under the Red Scare, but many many times worse thanks to modern technology making it so much more widespread and easy to "use," rather than having to phone up a government agency and talk to some scary dude.
@@fenrirgg Yes. Corruption is any act where you act against the best interests of your employer for your own personal gain -- it doesn't really depend on whether your employer is democratic or not or what they consider to be their best interests. Take Enron for example. Most people would call their scandal pretty damned corrupt, and I'd be willing to bet they didn't operate as a democracy.

Already in Shenzhen at least, there's electronic billboards that broadcast your face and ID card if you cross a street without waiting for the pedestrian light to go on. I think if you run a red light with your car, or go past your parking meter limit your information gets broadcasted the same way as well. They say it's meant to shame people from doing it again, but, I feel like it would give bad people an opportunity to write down your info and try to punish you in their own way. Maybe their social credit would go up for hurting someone with a low score? Dunno, but it's very problematic to say the least

@@fullstopdice Thank you Internet Historian ily

First class ticket to the gulag. Then what?

This sounds like the easiset corruptible system ever...
This system is inherently corrupt
Is there corruption if there is no democracy?
It is
@@fenrirgg Yes.
Imagine seeing someone's picture on a billboard showing their low credit score, you laughing at them and then seeing your own face on another billboard.
