I'm trying to figure out how this works. I had to replace the fire door between the basement and garage. I purchased a used one with a panic bar and installed it. The basement side has a handle with and a key lock. The garage side has the panic bar When I lock the lock it only locks the handle. The panic bar still operates. I want to lock the panic bar, so people can't walk into the garage and push the panic bar and get into the house
The exit device cannot be "locked" from the egress side. If your application does not require an exit device, remove it and install a Segal SE15332 Single Cylinder Deadbolt, KD Keying, Brushed Chrome, Angle and Flat Strikes, Box Packaging as seen here: absupply.net/segal-se15332-single-cylinder-deadbolt-kd-keying-brushed-chrome-angle-and-flat-strikes-box-packaging.aspx
Yes. This fire rated exit device will have a deadlocking tab that, when properly installed, will keep the pull latch fully extended when the door is in the closed and latched position.

Are you saying in the case of a fire with the jamb possibly expanding the Deadman will keep it locked to prevent backdraft?
