He sings on “Porcelain”, “South Side”, “Machete”, “If Things Were Perfect” and “The Sky is Broken”. He also sings on “Extreme Ways”, but that’s on a different album.
Ya'll Must Be Millennials and Generation Z babies to think he sang all that. This is not a diss so if I'm wrong I'm wrong. I've never thought Moby was THAT talented. 😂
No, I'm not the first King of controversy I am the worst thing since -Elvis- Moby To do Black music so selfishly And used it to get myself wealthy -Eminem
The musicians performing on the records are sublime... I watched an interview where Moby doesn't even credit Ernest Gold in writing "Porcelain" Dude, the composers deserve credit for their compositions and performances.
On "Why Does My Heart Fell So Bad?", the drum sample's speed is slowed down (Both tempo and pitch). On "Bodyrock", guitar riff is original and additional vocals sung by Nikki D. On "If Things Were Perfect", the real sample appears at mark 2:18 of "Hospital Prelude of Love Theme". On "Porcelain", the vocal sample has yet to be found ("Ay... ay ... ay.. woman...").
thank you for this break down must have been pretty difficult, if not then it's still amazing now i can search for these songs individually too and gain a new found love for them, since they were sampled. same with the rest of the ones you've uploaded thank you for opening my eyes , ears ect to things new to me.
So some of the guitar and bass parts on the album are actually played by Moby himself, like the guitars in Find My baby and Bodyrock and the bassline from If Things Were Perfect?
This was one of the best albums for samples, but i doubt doubt anyone could afford Beastie Boys- Paul's Boutique samples now. Changed music after License To Ill!
@@user-xd3sx3nc6z Thank you for your opinion. I will agree to disagree with you. Music is one of those areas where people have very different aptitudes and tastes. Much of that comes from early music education and what kind of music was played in the home in one's early years of development.
you could say that, if you're an absolute child. you should be respecting moby wanting to bring these artists to a younger generation and in the new style
@highdrangea790 very true. Moby helps bring artists from the past especially those who were underrepresented back then (seeing how a lot of his samples come from African American/Black artists).
When I was a kid I thought moby sang all the samples. I didn't understand what a sample was back then.
Same!

Play is an astonishing album, sounding new and old at the same time, Moby is such a talented guy.
Sampling is an art
the most important thing is not the sample but what you put around it
moby has always been good at creating layers
Reverse to make a sample...genius

Thank you so much for this video! This record has so many samples that it's basically a rap record
Other genres of electronic based music use samples too, not just rap records.

but "these open doors" is obviously sung by a woman, where does that come from?
It's from the same song, that vocal sample is pitched up.
Love the album, shame he's politically brain dead

Well in that case then daftpunk is also just an "artist"
there's no way you're a DAFT PUNK FAN complaining about sampling??? seriously??? have you seen daft punk??
