Which exact part of Million Miles From Home are you claiming is sampled on Propane Nightmares? 'cause I can't quite hear the part that you've highlighted. They did lift the vocal melody that first appears at around 2:04, but I don't think they sampled it. There's always a bunch of instrumentation around the vocals in Million Miles From Home, which I can't hear on Propane Nightmares. Though maybe they got access to the vocal stems? Even then, to me the vocals seem to have a bit of a different character (if I pitch them appropriately). Also, Castle Theme in Granite? Are you quite sure about that? Doesn't sound anything like it to me, honestly. I get that there are some 8-bit-ish sounds, but those can just be made on almost any synth. And finally, The Fountain does seem to draw from Just One Second quite heavily, it almost sounds like it could have been a cover of it at some point. However, I don't think it's a sample - the drums sound different and there's also a bunch of other instruments in Just One Second that I just can't hear in The Fountain. Cool video otherwise, BTW 👍️
thank you 🙏
I just now realized STAR GUITAR is named such because it contains the GUITAR from STARman.
one guy, many samples. this guy is a musical genius
Love the album, shame he's politically brain dead
Sampling is an art the most important thing is not the sample but what you put around it moby has always been good at creating layers
Man this just ruined the album for me. I knew they sampled but not so blatantly
Really love this guy!!!
nice stuff
but "these open doors" is obviously sung by a woman, where does that come from?
It's from the same song, that vocal sample is pitched up.
Play is an astonishing album, sounding new and old at the same time, Moby is such a talented guy.
So basically they are huge plagiarists and never made anything original jk
Probably paid royalties, since those songs are also found in the albums in the inside booklet.
Man, I loved this album.
surrender is their best album. this conversation is over
No, it's dig your own hole ;)
shut up!
@@alanbrito5239 damn, no tienes que ponerte tan agresivo
@@otterjazz jodete. Surrender es el mejor album de ellos. fin de la discusion
@@alanbrito5239me when I lie 🤓☝️ *okay, es uno de los mejores de ellos, tal vez iconico también...*
Love that Barbara and Ernie sample. Thanks for these.
This was one of the best albums for samples, but i doubt doubt anyone could afford Beastie Boys- Paul's Boutique samples now. Changed music after License To Ill!
Hey u missed let forever be which samples the Beatles strawberry fields forever orchestra session
Yes spoonie gee love rap and then Moby bodyrock song From my old school video game test drive overdrive longplay
The primate psichedelic reel - tomorrow never knows / The Beatles
my fav moby bodyrock
The sample on 3:36 of Leave Home is from «The Defector» (Recoil, 1992)
thank you for this work :)
nice for epileptic 🤣🤣🤣
asfd
Just to add to this... (one of) the drum samples in Lost in the K-Hole is Meetings (Instrumental) by Wild Style Allstars.
Moby n' a jamais rien crée. Du samples et du samples. A vomir. Sur des artistes qui sont décédés. Même pas il s' est emmerdé à remixé. 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
you could say that, if you're an absolute child. you should be respecting moby wanting to bring these artists to a younger generation and in the new style
No one cares about your rubbish opinion!
Could say the same thing about every author, just taking words out of the dictionary and remixing and layering them ... pathetic
@highdrangea790 very true. Moby helps bring artists from the past especially those who were underrepresented back then (seeing how a lot of his samples come from African American/Black artists).
Born in the echoes and no geography samples? Please uvu
I believe that the drum sample for It Doesn't Matter comes from The Fatback Band - Wicky Wacky (Jamie 326 Edit). It sounds like they sped it up by, like, 126.5% speed to me
I think I found the drum sample for it doesn't matter. I believe that if you take The Fatback band - Wicky Wacky (Jamie 326 Edit) and speed it up by about 1.25% using RUclips advanced settings, it's basically dead on the beat...ok, maybe it's a beat and a half quicker on the Chem-Bro's track but, playing the two side by side, it's pretty close
Is that for the vocal sample too?
Believe samples daft punks face to face drums
Wrestling Bad
That's good
Who is "Ingram"? Ingram is a Millionairesque name.
thank you for this break down must have been pretty difficult, if not then it's still amazing now i can search for these songs individually too and gain a new found love for them, since they were sampled. same with the rest of the ones you've uploaded thank you for opening my eyes , ears ect to things new to me.
thanks. this is so beautifull.
😂🤣💪💪😎👈
Masterful sampling, every song iconic and ingrained into my head
The Chemical Brothers sampling The Chemical Brothers? I LOVE IT!!! <3<3
😂😂
Arstist
i think the chemical brothers may have sampled herbie hancock rockit in three little birdies down beats the part .
una cancion que samplearon de otra, vuelven a samplear otra, son unos maestros del sample
awesome!
How do they extract just the drum/vocal tracks so that no other instrument/vocal bleeds into the sample?. Are there special recordings where each track is separate?. If so do you need a special kind of license to access these separate tracks?
Usually just a spot in the track when one or the other is isolated. Sometimes they had acapellas alright. Filtering can be used to remove some of the background sounds alright but sometimes leaving that in adds a bit of swing to the rhythm
It Doesn't matter sounds like it also samples Hey Boy, Hey Girl, The acidy bass sounds similar
Thank you so much for this video! This record has so many samples that it's basically a rap record
Other genres of electronic based music use samples too, not just rap records.
Wait so the rap on Tarantula was just lifted from another track?
As You Can See, Yes It Is I Guess
I believe the MC did re-record it along with the new tarantula lyrics
So some of the guitar and bass parts on the album are actually played by Moby himself, like the guitars in Find My baby and Bodyrock and the bassline from If Things Were Perfect?
The 70s be slow, let's speed that shit up.
The Oasis one is not a sample. Clearly Liam singing with Noel in background, on Chems track it is Noel justing singing a rerecording version.
