and to think that I should get a US passport was once one of my ideas as am married to an American. You couldn't pay me to travel on a US passport these days. It is getting dangerous for Americans out in the world these days from the policies of the current and previous governments. I am a Kiwi by birth and give thanks every day for having been lucky enough to be born into a low corruption and rich land. We may be way further down the economic ladder than America but our people have a lot more freedom as we can easily travel the world ,health care is free and great , and we get a decent wage. One of my American friends asked me when visiting ten years ago " where are the homeless people?" my mate said they have all gone home for the day and will come back latter at night. While this is not the truth but there is a great safety net here that keeps most people in beds and with an income if they don't work.
