I made the rookiest of all rookie mistakes, I got too close to a soi dog, startled it, and it got ahold of my hand. Medical care at both Bangkok Hospital and my follow up at Bumrungrad was excellent at both locations, but I'm pretty sure I am on the Western pay scale regarding the cost.
LMAO Joe you look exactly like I pictured by your voice! Haha... man love your videos, I watch several at length every night! I'm coming over this year for 6 months or a year, I just started saving, been 3 years I've been wanting too. Gonna shake your hand and drink some beers with ya bud!
I stayed at hotels in Chiang Mai , Bangkok, and then Pattaya. I was in the hospital in Pattaya and they got me a 3 month visa exemption extension based on a doctors recommendation. I noticed on the 1900 baht receipt the TM30 was the hotel in Pattaya which was the most recent.
Ya I'm not sure. Maybe if you also had a 365 day tm 30 the hotel wouldn't be the last. It's a bit of mystery. The safest bet is to do a tm 30 every time you re-enter the country. Ill still risk the Thailand hotel. Maybe that will be a mistake. I'll find out next time
I'm not pretending to be an expert, but that appears to be the new rule. A new TM30 within 24 hours of arriving. The rumor is the hotel thing in Thailand has mellowed out. But who knows. thailand-elite.com/what-is-tm30-all-about/#:~:text=However%2C%20if%20you%20relocate%2C%20you,24%20hours%20of%20your%20return. This article say yes. Others say no. All I know is I got rejected for some reason reporting online. I didn't report a new TM30 when I came back from Japan for 3 weeks. So who knows. Most people travel a few times a year if that. So no big deal. Do a TM30 within 24 hours. It can't hurt.
The tm30 form has changed recently. Mine now has an end date (they never used to), so when i did a 1 year condo rental, i got a 365 day tm30 ...so if i leave the country, i don't need to get a new one when i re-enter. TM47 90 day reporting is a nuisance, but i've done most of them online.
Again, this article says different. My TM 30 is good for two years. I signed a two year lease. But I got stung somehow with the online report. These guys say to do a fresh TM 30 when arriving from abroad. Other people say no. It would be nice to know the answer. thailand-elite.com/what-is-tm30-all-about/#:~:text=However%2C%20if%20you%20relocate%2C%20you,24%20hours%20of%20your%20return.
@@jefftaylor8584 Yes, the TM30 has a date. That's fine, unless you leave the country. If you believe articles like the one I sent you, that date ends when you leave the country. You have 24 hours to file a new TM30 when you return to Thailand. But, your miles may vary. Test it out, like I just did. Ha ha, I'll be at Bangkok immigration for the entire morning. So much for that test. I'll be getting a new TM30 when I return back to Thailand. Hopefully I get done before the lunch break.
As far as I can understand, the rules vary at every Immigration office, and even each immigration officer can apply the rules differently. I use an agent for the TM47 and it costs 100 baht. Simple.
I have worked for a Multi-national Semi-Conductor company for a few years, I have applied for Visas in several Countries, it is such a depressing feeling when you put in all kinds of paperwork and wait , sometimes weeks to hear back.....and find out you forgot to Sign you passport or spelled something wrong!🥴 Costly and timely mistakes! I am currently in Processing for DTV visa going on almost 25 days now, I did not know Thai Immigration would be closed for a week!! Thanks for the info Bud!!
Yes, they just opened today on Jan 2. I hope that all works out smoothly. It's important to know all the Thai holidays. Many are on a random Wednesday. Or immigration shuts down for days around Songkran in April. I'm not sure if the glitch is still in the system. The online appointment system used to let you book an appointment for a closed day. That would stink, to travel all the way out there.
Im not sure because I tried online and was rejected. It said for me to report to immigration. I could have skipped the online check in and flew out. But, I'm not going to leave just to avoid a 90 day. It's usually easy. I think not getting the tm30 when I come back from Japan stung me
My USA passport has my first middle and last name. On some areas they only have first and last name for you to fill in. I’m always confused if I should put first or first and middle for the first name.
In Bangkok, can you get a visa agent to stand in for this? Also, would you recommend travel in and out of country instead of doing the 90 day check in? Since I am traveling anyways, just plan around the time.
Sure, you can get an agent for anything. In Bangkok it can cost as high as 2000b, but I found a guy that did it for 750b. The problem is I think I locked myself out of the system. An agent probably can't fix that. 99% sure I need to go in person.
I am a bit confused, from my understanding, you cannot do the 90 day report online directly after you return from outside Thailand. The first 90 day report must be mailed in or in person afterwards the subsequent reports can be done online. Is this not correct ?
Im no expert. I've did 90 day reports online after returning from abroad. Your first 90 days when you get the initial visa must be done in person. The new rule seems to be that you need to do a new tm30 within 24 hours of returning from abroad. In the past, I just did a tm30 when I had to visit immigration. Maybe that was why I got rejected. Maybe I locked myself out by messing up my surname. Either way, it's a trip to immigration tomorrow to clear it up. No biggie
I am planning to move to Thailand (hopefully with a retirement visa) later this year (2025). Is there a system that will walk me through all this forms, or do I just have to learn on my own?
It's all at the Thai Immigration website. But, ya it's a little tricky. About 25,000 to 35,000 baht an agent will do it all. For me, it's a game of chess. This mailman got it all done on his own. So it's possible.
Most landlords won't give you that access. It requires having her pin and log in. I wouldn't give that to an tenant either. Many landlords use3 a 3rd party to do the TM30. The rental office isn't going to let me have their password either. It would be nice if I can do my own, but that's not an option for everyone.
It would just be nice if the officialThai Immigration website was clear, consistent and up to date on reporting requirements instead of us Visa holders relying on ever changing secondhand information. It can be very frustrating. All countries have their bureaucratic processes but some make it more challenging than it needs to be. Still, it is never dull here.
Ha ha, ain't that the truth John. It's gonna be interesting when the new ETA starts at the airport. I sure hope the airport still counts as a 90 day check in. We were sitting around talking about the new wealthy pensioner visa that only has one day day check in a year. Plus, the airport counts for that one. Maybe that will be the way things are heading. Happy New Year brother. Beers soon. I'm off to immigration tomorrow. I'll be there at 7:30. Fingers crossed I'm out before the lunch shutdown

Maybe. Or maybe I pay the agent, some want 2000b in Bangkok, and they come back and couldn't get it done. Agents have problems at times too.
