They recorded the first fast and the furious in hemet CA when Vince gets stuck on the truck. And you can see that water tower they uncover the hondas at from my uncles house !

@@TheRacingJoker Can't remember exactly what part of the crew did it, (believe it was the film crew) but they flipped it on purpose just to see if anyone would notice/mess with the other parts of the crew. Something like that lol, I can't remember, Craig has answered it before.

Must have a horrible 60ft. Trapping at 127 mph and car weighing under 3700 lbs, it should be a high 10 sec car.

It was on street tyres. Maybe with race tyres you could get to the 10 sec. I'd also ditch the PlayStations and cameras and audio systems for good measure.
@@vdochev my car weighs 3880 (with me in it), traps at 111 mph and does 12.7 with street tires! Driver mod for the supra 🤷♂️

My favorite car from the whole franchise.
This car is a classic, even though through the lens of nowadays it’s pretty ricey. It’s good to remember that before this movie, the Supra was just another awesome JDM car like the 300zx, and all the mods done to it especially the chrome are very much of the era.
Id like the car way more if it was a different color with no vinyl and had a TRD wing on it instead

I should start with UG2 style game as a base for my game design. People seem to still want it badly!
@@StaredownGames Which I find interesting, I think trying to capture the same lightning a second time is harder than coming up with a new and original idea. A lot of the original games and movies of that era were inspired by what the creators saw in the real life culture at the time. Why not go to a few street races and events and use what you witness as inspiration and try and show an exaggerated version how car culture is today instead of how it was a couple decades ago. The Fast and the Furious while exaggerated was based loosely off the car culture of the time, maybe doing that with how things are with the present day could be cool. I doubt it would be easy but with enough work I think it could be really cool. We've got some crazy things happening in car culture right now and people are developing crazy tech all over the world, we're in the middle of two eras (gas, hybrid and then one day electric) Finding a way to capture how things are now I think would be awesome

Theres just a small mistake you made, the exhaust manifold from rps is for Single Turbo conversion, so the Supra can not have 2 Turbos, and the special style of the pipes are the reason the Supra from TF1 sounds so special and sick. Equal Length of all of the exhaust manifold pipes are the magic trick

This car made me a supra lover. I was a hardcore supra lover for years. But now im not that hardcore. Yeah i still like it,but it's not im my favourites anymore. My 3 favourite cars from all the fast and furious movies are:
1) Brian's eclipse
2) Brian's Supra
3) Hector's civic
I have a stock-ish MKIV and it sounds very similar to the movie car. It blew me away the first time I saw the movie after driving the car for a while
Never thought that car has impressive power with the mods on the engine. In the movie, Jesse stated $15K to rebuild and mod it. Was it actually that much with all the parts back in the late 90's and early 2000's?
The whole build (performance parts, bodywork and subwoofers/TVs etc) costed over 100k
It's crazy with people making 8 and 9 second passes that 12 seconds seem slow to me. But 12 seconds is actually some serious power.

Fun fact Craig Lieberman the guy who owned the Supra in 1998 he raced a Supra and got beat then he sold his mustang and found a Supra for sale and the day he got the car he started modifying it
I remember him saying that. When I spoke to him we spoke more about how he found the car and how cheap it was compared to today

Craig said they did modify the sound of the car and that you wont be able to replicate it because they added like lion roars and whatnot lol. Its in his book.
Yes this is true and I have read his book, but getting a turbonetics t66 and a similar manifold will get you very close. It's the LEAST modified car sound in the franchise as far as I know

Craig Lieberman actually owned the car before filming the film, it was magazine featured here in the UK.
Craig was signed up as the technical director for the films and actually appears in the first film as the flag guy at race wars.
Yeah! I've had a few conversations with him before and I've read his book, very professional and knowledgeable guy. He helped me with verifying info for one of my first videos.

This Supra was the technical directors personal car, built before the movie was ever conceived. If I recall correctly, according to the director's commentary.

The Supra was using the greddy rebic 3 for 2 additional injectors, no HKS. Bcuz i was there, and the actual orange supra was owned by Chris Lieberman.
I just go by what Craig Lieberman claims in his list on his site, if there are any discrepancies I need sources before I can write corrections and disclaimers about incorrect info.

@@TheRacingJoker that is correct, RPS. Not true. Rps turbo kits were sold to the public in the early days. The tfatf supra has an unmodified rps turbo kit with a 3" downpipe/midpipe mated with a greddy power extreme exhaust.
People who have this manifold usually modify the wastegate runner (sacrifices a bit of the sound very slightly) to prevent boost creep. I noticed no difference, but my turbo is bigger than the t66 Craig used. So it sounds less pitched more bassy
@@xpectz Man I wish I could find one of those RPS turbo kits, I'd put it on a Supra in a heartbeat the same way I'd want a Trust T78 kit on an RB26
What about the stunt supra the used (the one with the exhaust tubing cage that was actually a 9 second car. It was made by the guy who actually made the manifolds used on the movie engine.

All that and it was still an NA-T conversion so a 2JZ-GE and probably about 450bhp

@Anthony Suarez The wrecked car they have on the flat bed is different to the hero car. The hero car was a full GTE, not a conversion
I don’t know how many hero cars they had but I know for a fact that the Supra that was on set was a NA-T with a Greddy Turbo and it was also an Automatic. It was on set with the hood propped up.. I was fortunate enough to be on set during the filming part of Race Wars..Race wars was filmed at the San Bernardino airport not far from my house..I watched for a few hours as Paul and Mia acted out the scene where Paul tells Mia that he’s a cop and then they take off in the Supra to find Dom..I had no idea who they where at the time.. lol

It had half 780 whp depending on the boost level.
Rob Cohen directed the movie. Lieberman was a tech advisor. He's got his own youtube channel with stories from the first 3 fast movies he worked on.

Nope it didn’t non of those parts in that scene went on any of the cars infact one of those parts was B304 camshaft from an old mustang
