You should do Random Cloaked to GM. The cloaked Terran units from that challenge, all cloaked protoss units, and burrowed Zerg units on random. That'd be super cool! Love the vids!

I think a "no orbital to GM" would be interesting. So, no scans or mules. Gotta get your detection from ravens or turrets.

This might be the most painful unit-limited series I've ever watched. Roaches are just SUCH a hard and simple counter.
I think Marc should be able to build corruptors in this challenge
The first game instead of the counter attack your lings would have destroyed those roaches then you could have nydused him back. Spine crawlers in the back of your bases/dark zones would be great for nydus defense.

Obviously it's more of a zerg player thing, but simply having the overlords spread out everywhere to spot for the nyduses!

As Bronze league Terran who has never played zero before,I think I'm in with a chance. My build order will be so chaotic, uthermal's brain will literally explode.
Rough game against the roaches. you called, started spines, you even saw the overseer going to your bottom right of main - just didn't move units and made drones. I think a proxy hatch would have saved you because he had absolutely no map control.
I wonder why uThermal didn't leave a ling (or 4-6 lings) on patrol, to scout for Nydus worms in his main... Or even 2 overlords would've been fine, since uThermal could've just pulled lings then.
And no overlord to check the corner of his main base, just one creep tumor, when the game was already over anyway. This game made me agressiv by watching :D - and even in the 2nd game, no scouting, just poking with his lings. Uthermal was lucky, that ignitius was not a tough player
In the first game you could broken the rocks to get better surround. The counter attack was a mistake. More spines + all your lings was the best hope.
It would be really cool if you could bring some infestors along with the ling drops and turn them into doom drops
Thermy no psyching yourself out game one was yours till you convinced yourself you were gonna face mutas over and over. You a beast and thanks for the games and videos! Sorry game one went that way I have those days sometimes to.

You saw the wall up so nydus was definitely coming but you didn't get vision in the main base. Too bad, we win some we lose some.

It feels to me like you somehow just need to rush to hive and Adrenal Glands vs. Roach Zerg. That finally gives you Lings that are strong enough to fight Roaches. And +3 melee. With enough turtling and early damage (you need a LOT of Spines) you do have decent lines to get there and Cracklings wreck Roaches especially before Roaches get +3 armor.
If roaches are so unstoppable, snipe the roach warren?

No Uthermal, you didnt lose cause of 1 wave of drones extra. You lost, cause you moved your defense spines and you didnt destroy the 1st nydus. If he would have forced to put his nydus low lvl in front of your natural, your defense position would have been 100% more solid.
You could try dropping lots of creep tumours in the nydus positions, so he can't get the nydus down and can't figure out why either

In the first game I kinda feel like you had additional resources you coulda just used to pump lings but ended up building 4 spines, a wall hatch and something else. In addition you just were not on top of his nydus worms... if you had more injects or even just took an earlier gas just to build up an extra lair/hive for larvae and just focused on upgrades and wrecking the nydus before they got up I think you would have been in fine in that game. Lings are worst against roaches sure, but roaches are a better push unit and he got a full nydus with multiple queens with transfuses in your main... That scenerio coming out would be bad even if you could build your own roaches. If you are hard commiting to lings you need fast upgrades and you need to focus on getting that critical mass similar to what you did in your marine medivac challenge. Spines and all that are fine but if you had the ling/queen count I think he would have struggled to come back from the damage you did.

Missing that first Nydus hurt a LOT. Get vision of your base, especially when they wall off.

13:45: Might I suggest you defend with your army, instead of your workers? You would have EASILY crushed his army and could then counterattack for the win, without losing any Drones... And a small number of Lings will be as effective harassment as a huge number. I really feel like you enjoy sacrificing your Drones; you do it so often when it's not necessary. For the views? ;p

That first build order looks like something I'd do, and I never got above high diamond. You are absolutely right for calling it out as awful. How did they get so much MMR if they normally play like that?
I feel like if you had just a couple more spine crawlers in the first game, instead of moving them around over and over. It would have solved all the issues. You would moves spines from main to natural, nydus in the main. Move the natural spines to main and theres and attack on my natural. If there was just 2-4 spines in place at the right bases ahead of time so many less fires you had to deal with.
One thing I noticed in some games you apparently really don't like taking the second gas in your main, huh

If the guy could put mutas in nydus, he would attack with them that way

Some games in this challenge look too struggling. Maybe made version with allowed ling/infestor/vipers? Still lings and casters only, but with some real possibility to play later stages
When the opponent plays 1.a3 d5 2.h3, gives up the bishop pair for no reason later, and then you still lose the game after an unsound sac :D
Since banelings come from lings why not add it to this challange?

@uthermal in game 1 you say that you got screwed by the round of drones you started at the wrong time but why didn't you cancel them ? The larvae pops back up directly in case of cancel, right ?
No. The larva dies. You do get 100% refunded cost for the cancelled unit, but the larva is lost

thor aoe mode is really strong against clumped up mutas, so they are fine as is

The use of hte lings to not defend was a poor choice ,the speed of the lings and damage, and hive coming, adrenal is a massive ling upgrade, plus base advantage, and you were getting infestor, Not entirely sure why you were hell bent on that push since you were so patient and had a third, and you had enoug hlings to wipe those roaches without any losses... Also allowing yourself to have some anti air, IE 3 corruptors, or 3 hydras, or something, spores are okay, but corruptor perimeter is cheap easy warning and can always pee on buildings, lol, like nydus'.
You lost and did a mostly in effective attack, your lings whe nthey ball, is usually not what you want to see, many were not dispersing their means ot attack, and utlize the area, this takes group microing of zergs, so they better remove the buildings, etc. INfestors were a future choice... Corruptors would be nice, even still if your going ling, infestor.. Yo uahve to go and produce endless queens, to the point you may even have 40 supply of queens, since you lack air ,whcih menas range upgrade for ground is a good choice. I htin the first game looked like a win, since the money and situation and breaking down... Which keep in mind any base he has on teh outside has ot transfer which means you can be up a base and drones fairly fast... I bet if you replayed at your choice to ignore defending their and defended you would of played that out a lot different.
I think your zerg build of making nothing but corrupters is by far the worst build ever created lol

The first game was terrible.
You make the infestation pit but kept making lings? Looked like a throw to me. Why didn’t you make your own roaches in that first game you had the time.

Rough watching this build now after you came back from another game.
The only time you won was when you made successful harasses early game and efficient trades. Lately you've been throwing lings at stuff and losing completely.
Same can be said of your protoss no warp gates. You don't send out your templars to the side to counterattack anymore because you've lost the initiative.
Just something I'm observing. You need to get your groove back
