A nice cheese sample platter. I really like the proxy BCs, it feels very scary for the first 5 minutes, but when those things start hitting, they hit hard and with potential reinforcement of 2 at a time, I can only imagine how hard it is to hold
I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing content, the commentary and explanations make these enjoyable and educational to watch and have inspired me to pick the game up again after playing it as a kid.
Worked out more smoothly than I would have though. One thing id like to see tried at a high level is proxy BC with a forward base. Unless the BCs close out the game immediately, their value is really limited by the time it takes to go back and forth for repairs. Having a lot of scvs nearby to pop right back into battle really breaks the normal expectations about the pace of the pressure. And even in the likely event they do scout you are taking their 4th, its not very likely they will realize what that means. Perhaps itd completely fall apart at a high level but I think it has the potential to catch a lot of people off guard.
I've spent the last few weeks honing that Double Factory (1proxy) TvP 1base. Especially on Ghost River and Crimson. Many reps. After the rax builds the reactor I build one marine and then I land the rax halfway across the map just out of normal pathing visio, (A little later I rally single marines when I can squeeze them out Well keeping the factories non-stop producing).. The scouting scv goes to the proxy location. I never stop making workers. The proxy worker starts building a depot as soon as the tech lab goes down, Then an immediate eBay. As second tank begins I grab 4/5 workers and send them across the map on auto repair and everything times out beautifully to arrive all at once 👌🏽 and I can put down a turret as soon as I arrive. The turret was a reaction to having this build fail more than twice to blind DTs or if my initial push is missed microed and they have enough time to get reactive DTs out. I basically just start systematically making a forest of turrets as I slow push with the tanks and kite woth the cyclones/repairSCVs/marines - plus they help greatly in case the Toss goes Stargate. °° this build is fresh on my mind cos just yday I died to a filthy Cannon rush contain into tempests.. and he offensive GGd, which really tilted me. A few games later I queued into the same guy and I rolled over him with this build - he wouldn't leave when it was clear the came was absolutely over .. so I legit started building a manner-CC in his main as I came up the ramp. 😘 It was cathartic.. As much as I absolutely despise what they've done to the cyclone, this is at least one use for it and it lends itself to this build perfectly.
Is there a way you could disguise the ghost rush a bit more? Any leeway on timing, or perhaps you could build the ghost academy in a location likely to be scouted last like near your base? Cause that was really cool
Would you say these a fine cultured cheeses, or more like processed cheese in a pressurized squirt can? Either way cheese is tasty. I love cheese. The only cheese I won't eat is the one with the worms in it. uThermal you have become a true experienced fromager and cheese monger.
27:49 i think you only had chronoboost on the nexus as an ability back then, but who needed that with feedback actually killing things and khaydarin amulet ;P
I'd love to see your take on the hellbat ghost attack special did a while ago. I think he attacked after he had 2 ghosts with the hellbats and used them to snipe queens. Then he drops 2 CC's to go up to 4 and goes into mech. Great build xd
I think thermy would be proud of me. I revived the mass raven combine with mass cyclone build in the lower levels.i matrix the crap out of protoss and terrans . It's so strong that I kind of feel evil lol
Can someone explain to this non-SC2-playing person what "proxy" actually means in this context? What is acting as a proxy for what, generally? It seems like it usually means that you build something off your base somewhere, and then later use that "hidden" location to surprise your adversary. But I don't see where the concept of a "proxy" comes in. (Something acting as a replacement for a different thing.)
It is exactly that, its generally used for the purpose of having those units arrive sooner than expected because they don't have to walk across the map after being made. Can also semi hide what you are making as its not where it normally would be for the other player to see.
Normally your unit production, especially at the start of the game, is in your main base. But you can move the production to a proxy base in a different location, often right next to your opponent. This way the units arrive at the battlefield much faster, and there is a high chance your opponent didn't scout them.
Your opponent scouts your main, but most likely won't see the proxy, so doesn't know what's coming. Also proxy at the opponent's doorstep means reinforcements reach the battlefield almost immediately, without the need to cross the map, and they can't be intercepted. Lastly you are limiting space, and possibly preventing expansion options for the opponent.
"He's just incredibly weird. Anyway I'm going to go for a double starport BC proxy"
Weird play: approved. Weird chat: denied. 😆
Game recognize game
29:41 Nice pylon :)
This episode should be called "The Charcuterie". Chef's kiss
TcUltimate has a remarkable ability to end up cheesed on a video by uthermal, harstem and mana
Gotta love how Thermy casually improvises new builds with better precision than I can execute a standard build 😅
Lmfao.. I mean what did you expect? Mechanics are mechanics and he is a former pro who arguably still plays at a pro level 🤣
That poor guy in the last game. I actually felt bad.
A nice cheese sample platter.

I’m giving the Protoss player the benefit of the doubt to say his exclamation mark after the well played was genuine.
I just wanted to say thank you for the amazing content, the commentary and explanations make these enjoyable and educational to watch and have inspired me to pick the game up again after playing it as a kid.
Just the video I needed. Now I'll have more in my arsenal :) Thank you Thermal!
Double Proxy Port is Salt Inducing.. I love it...
Worked out more smoothly than I would have though.

Grandmaster league?
'Who Proxys a TANK!'
Everytime I see the hellion drop cheese I get goosebumps. Early game horrorshow for metal league players like me.
Marc serving up a little charcuterie/tapas selection of 5 cheeses for us!
enjoyed every bit of it, thank you!
That is a wp! meant in all genuine awe at your build.

What on Earth happened to the Mothership Cores... Or Pylon Overload. Or those Raven seeker missiles...
TcUltimate has died so many times to the stupidest shit on pro challenges. He doesn't even know if he's real anymore.

That worm cheese is actually pretty solid, give it a try friend! Then again im a Zerg player.
I was hoping you were goin to rewind the first game to see if he saw the ghost academy.

On ghost river you could floated your barracks over for vision up ramp
Thanks for the cheese plate. ^^
Proxy Thor is one of my absolute favorite psycho builds to bust out in 3v3.
Proxy Thor sucks now because now noobs can spam cyclones and instantly kill the Thor and medivac
@@AntonioLopez-kw3ev Speaking as someone who tormented people with my brother in 2v2 with Cyclone Chargelot last weekend, yes you absolutely can.
@uThermal, how come your recent videos are only available in 1080p rather than 4K?
Great games, great fun to watch. Thx.
i'm surprised harstems proxy marauder didn't make the list.
I think thermy would be proud of me. I revived the mass raven combine with mass cyclone build in the lower levels.i matrix the crap out of protoss and terrans . It's so strong that I kind of feel evil lol
I really liked the last game. Very cool all in. I think it would be good vs zerg too
In the second game, the dude's name was "отвага", courage in Russian...
Random chase to GM :) awesome games 🔥

You got it right Dave

Always nice to beat lower league that's my sc2 life 😎💪🤙 Imagin i do this in my mma gym with beginner. love it.
I subscribed to your channel because you are very cool
I came for the 5 cheese special!😂
How to join all these proxies together? Eproxy! 😜
Hilarious how badly they fucked WoL by the end of the 2 expansions. 4 mins and libs/ hellions murking both bases 😂
Proxy siege tanks
When will we see more SC evolution?
Awesome games!
Lala🎉.
BC for the win! 🎉
Yes, it was harmstrem 😊
Scientist in Japan have regrown teeth in ferrets and mice.
Terran school super live come back?
i see ghost i thumbs up
Let's go!
And it's called the ""harstem build"". He proudly stole it from byun haha
Hey I haven’t played in a long time and just now watching sc2 games. What’s the point of proxy? Why not just build in your base?
Your opponent scouts your main, but most likely won't see the proxy, so doesn't know what's coming. Also proxy at the opponent's doorstep means reinforcements reach the battlefield almost immediately, without the need to cross the map, and they can't be intercepted. I am BASED and REDPILLED
He keeps calling things cheeses, its not cheese, he's just a smurf
