Mini bio on the actor David Janssen. He is most famous for playing the part of Richard Kimble on the 1960's tv show "The Fugitive".
Loved the Fugitive. I thought it was a great series. He passed way too soon.
To be spoken of as being kind after I’m gone would be wonderful.
That’s my goal now at 63.
The Fugitive One of the best series of the 60s Still great today
I loved him in the Fugitive and Harry O. To me, he was the quintessential every man kind of actor. He grew more handsome as he aged. I’m sorry that he was taken from us so soon.
Oh wow ! He looked so much older than 48!!! I always did like David Janssen . 😇😍 Thankyou 📺🎥⭐️🎭
One of my favorite actors. I didn't see all the movies, etc. he was in. I'm one that watched 'The Fugitive ', every week. Was pulling for him to be proved Innocent..
No idea he was sooo very young when he passed away. 😢
I had the BIGGEST CRUSH on David Janssen when he was in the fugitive. I loved that show with HIM in it he had the sexiest voice and was soooo handsome. He was perfect in it too he had it all, except more years to live. 😍 🙏💔
Always watched Harry O with my late father. Loved David's acting, may he Rest in Peace.
Loved David Janssen.Geeat actor ❤️
My family watched David Janssen in every television series or made for TV movie that he was in. Early on, his roles in theatrical movies were sometimes somewhat small but he always made the most of whatever part he was given. My favorite movie is Ring Of Fire for which he had the starring role. Great movie though probably not well known and great theme music for it by Duane Eddy. The television medium seemed to be where he really shined and had his greatest popularity. Actors of today just cannot hold a candle to the greats of yesteryear that we have lost.
One of my favorite actors!
You are right about smoking and drinking in those days. It took my own mother at age 40 about 5 years before Janssen passed. It saddens me today any time I see young people who have taken up these self destructive addictive habits.
I love the series and looked forward to it every single week. There was so much suspense that my heart beat fast and I was always on the edge of my seat. I think I was about 15 or so when it aired. It was a wonderful show!
The Fugitive was my oldest brother's favorite TV program.
These were the best about a different setting and actors and story every week so the theme was never boring.
Great actor, great show!
Love the Fugitive Series! ...
My Dad and I Watched it !! 🙏
#1.... Outstanding 🇺🇲
Janssen was one of the hardest working actor in Hollywood.
The Fugitive is my favorite TV show. I saw the show in syndicated reruns, and my ex-girlfriend was born on Tuesday August 29th, 1967. That was the day that Dr. Kimble finally confronted the one armed man.
Great actor! His funeral was on my Dad's birthday
Always enjoyed David Janssen. Such a good looking great actor !
I liked him in the movie
Ring of Fire
With Frank Gorshin.
I think it’s an underrated movie
Wow I just came across this…I’m 69 in Michigan and I watched the Fugitive as a kid and I always felt sorry because he didn’t commit the crime and his character was so nice and he was a handsome man I must say..Thanks for posting this because it’s from my generation…😊
My father served with Mr Janssen in the US Army. I did not know about this until my father's death in 1988.
How about that.
Good Video. David Janssen Did Have A Sad Ending. I Grew Up Watching Him, So I Guess I'm A Fan. Thank You. (Like #554)
"They drank, they smoked a lot of cigarettes", true, but a few worked also themselves to death. Janssen was not a perfect man, but his work will live on and on.
I think he was an Actor’s Actor. Very intense and secure in his craft, and it showed.
In tents is where Arabs live.
Still watching The Fugitive on the Memorable TV Network -44-4. Saw it originally but now still enjoying it. Still exciting!!
I watched it today. It had Brenda Vaccaro in it.
Sorry. The station is 44-3. not 44-4. Memorable television network.
4 years on the run wow. 🏃♂️ reminds me of another heavy smoker that died age 50 Rod Serling.
Drugs were found in Janssen's system upon his demise.
@@rufust.firefly4890 That is not true. No drugs were found on David's body - his autopsy report is online and may be viewed by anybody.
Hi Steve! Thanks for the information about David Janssen. I grew up watching "The Fugitive," as my parents watched it every week. I had a secret crush on David, he was so easy on the eyes! 👀
🙏 RIP DAVID JANSSEN 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
48? Oh my goodness 😳 I did enjoy the Fugitive. Mostly in re-runs. And I remember Harry O.
Good advice from you, Steve. 🙏
Another great feature. I loved the Fugitive and Harry O. You make a good point about the lifestyle of many performers of the era. Many smoked 4:30 heavily, and left us so, so young. I am a classic/golden age TV fan as well as classic films and appreciate what you do. Don't know if you take requests but I would like to see a feature on James Edwards. Primarily a film actor and featured in several popular movies from the 50s and 60s. We lost him too soon as well. Again thank you for what you do.
Great video. I have that TV Guide at 1:25 and also the 8/22/67 TV Guide "The Fugitive: This Week He Stops Running", part 1 of The Judgment. I collect them like Frank Costanza. 🎬
I had a collection when I was a kid and my step mother burned them.
All the stress of being on the run as a fugitive wore him out early
I remember my classmates discussing the ending of The Fugitive, on the playground the next day. Rewatched the series in the '90s. The guest star I remember most was Richard Anderson (not Richard Dean Anderson, MacGyver) best known as Oscar Goldman in two bionic TV series. By my count he played 5 different characters! They used to do that in the '60s, usually not that many times.
Character actor John Anderson did 12 episodes of the Rifleman playing different parts.
48???? Yikes. I was guessing late 50s, early 60s. Wow, RIP, he sure was handsome.
I read a long time ago that David suspected he was the illegitimate son of Clark Gable. I do see a strong resemblance.
He shone by himself. It's a real pity His very early death.
🙏🙏❤️
I was a big fan of Harry O.It should have run more than two years.
They cancelled it so they could replace it with "Charlie's Angels".
Good advice. Nice videos....
Its crazy but i never liked The Fugitive. Oh so sad to die so young at 48 and glad he got a star.
He was VERY upset about Vietnam... talk show ..very depressed over the Killing.
I remember watching the Fugitive. He seemed to get so close to finding his wife’s killer
I thought he was great in everything he was in! I loved the CBS made movie BIRDS OF PREY!
But at least he got the 1-Armed Man 1st!
I think he showed up once drunk on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
I can't believe you said falsely accused.
Only 48? Looked 25 years older.
Handsome successful house in Malibu friends wife...dead at 48...cruel really. So many big name actors died 50's and 60's ...cigarettes biggest culprit...red meat diets..
Whatever happened to the one armed man
The police let him go because he was unarmed. Dad Joke.
@@TheLifeandSadEnding
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, silly. :)
@@TheLifeandSadEnding Turns out that he was played by one Bill Raisch who, other than his role on The Fugitive, TV Guide named him No. 5 in their 2013 list of The 60 Nastiest Villains of All Time and, he often worked as a stand in for Burt Lancaster - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Raisch
Mun and watch him, as a kid I like westerns and Dr Who
