Themebot Boy yo, I upload weekly because I've recently given myself a scheduled that I like to follow, and videos are usually over 10 minutes because I write around 5 pages and feel like it's enough to get my point across, I never set to make a video exactly 10 minutes. Also even if I was there's nothing wrong with someone making a video 10 minutes as long as that 10 minutes is filled with content. It's not like I make 8 minute videos but stretch out an outro for another 2, all 10 minutes are content.

They have always had politics in their show, they just used to be way more subtle about it. They would see something in the news and make up their own story around the event. Now they just copy exactly what happened in real life.
The South Park movie was fantastic. As a kid who didn’t have internet, I used to always wonder what the cut version of the movie was. Joke flew right over my head.

Yeah, the thing is when the argument "keep politics out of entertainment" are brought up, people seem to completely overlook some of the nuances behind that argument and simply take it at face value for the sake of a strawman
Yeah but they were never as big of a focus as they are now, my main reason for disliking it now is that I can still go back to the early seasons and not need to completely understand the commentary to enjoy them, but I can't go back to season 20 and get that same enjoyment.

@@staticaleel5068 I just wish the show went back to how it was with earlier seasons when the show was actually REVOLVED around the boys and not just have them be side characters to the main plot. That's why I hated the Skank Hunt trilogy with Gerald and this whole hemp farm ordeal that's focusing more on Randy than anything else. Like sure, call me shallow, maybe I'm just not open to change but like, sure these characters definitely had their moments earlier on, but they were more side characters than anything else and basing whole seasons around them is just kind of a deal breaker. The sooner this hemp farm ordeal comes to a close and Randy lives back to South Park, the better.
My favourite scene from this movie is Kenny's face reveal near the end of the movie.

God I remember watching this movie all the damn time. Still holds up well today. God South Park was amazing.
South Park one of the least funny cartoons in Animation history. Instead of making a plot and filling it with jokes ( proper story telling) They always make the plot one big drawn out joke that gets old fast. It's so mind numbing and borring. When they occasionally do have a joke that is actually funny they strech it out too long and it gets old.

icecream hero I think the satire and commentary of the episodes of seasons 4-17 were very clever and have aged very well. And the show is a lot of fun to watch even after all these years. I can’t say it was as groundbreaking or as good as classic Simpson’s. But you gotta agree south park was something special.

I love the series aspect of late seasons, they can build on jokes better, feels like a bigger story like the video games. Granted, I only started watching after they switched lol, but their commentary is hilarious on current events.
I really love South Park man. I remember sneaking late at night just to watch it. In my honest opinion it's the only adult cartoon I think I still enjoy and has been the most consistent in quality. Other shows such as Family Guy and the Simpsons have really lost me...and even with all the politics I still did enjoy the 20th season and season 21 was really good in my opinion I really loved the return of Manbearpig and Al Gore.

I think Family Guy is a halfway point between Simpsons and South Park, the same concept from the Simpsons but the same crude humor from South Park
This movie is what you call a perfect movie. There is literally nothing wrong with this movie, even when I look very critically in to it. The plot here is perfect. This plot is a perfect representation of what South Park is. They take something that is minor at start, and then it turns to complete chaos in the best way ever. This movie is also really damn funny. This is honestly the funniest movie I watched. Also, the songs are all fantastic. I’d give this episode a perfect 100% and is my favorite movie of all time.

Honestly, I think Season 22 brought South Park back to normal. They still had some comedy over what is recent, but I do think that they still can be looked back to and not need to know about the event to enjoy it. Like the older seasons. I actually liked Season 21, and even Season 20 at parts, but yeah... I'm glad they stopped with the Trump stuff.

I love that entire Aku-ish vibe Satan has, knowing when to be intimidating, and when to give a nice chuckle with the main characters.

That’s all you heard in the hallways, I’m a be old for a second and that’s when you started talking to people in school trying to find who has the vhs so you can possibly borrow it. The success/or not of the show as of recent comment might not be accuarate. Sure the viewership is down but Comedy Central is a channel only added in certain packages on cable in the US as far as I know and cable/tv in general is going down. While as recent as in 2018, South Park was reported as the most watched show on Hulu by far.
*Also those South Park ratings still beat most things on CC right now. I don't think the show is going to go anywhere unless the creators themselves want to stop.

Unlike so many people who enjoy South Park I was 22 when I first started watching.I stared watching in 98 when I got back from my year long tour in Korea. I am about the same age as Matt and Trey, and honestly I think the show has gotten better over the years. I didn't like the way the election season ended, but I love the show and look forward to it everyday. I got HBO plus or whatever just so I could watch all of the episodes. I can watch every episode except a few, a very few. South Park, hands down is the best show ever on television.... PERIOD...

It's possible that the dip in viewers has more to do with people not watching it on TV when it broadcasts and instead catching the series on streaming services. And since streaming offers people the chance to watch the show whenever they want, they don't feel like they have to watch it as it's airing on TV.
I was 16 when the movie got released in the theaters. It was actually one of the first movies I snuck into to watch. I buy a PG-13 movie ticket for some crap film and then sneak right into "South Park". I also saw "Fight Club" and "Eyes Wide Shut" in the same theater around that same time.

They considered Imaginationland to not be good enough for a theatrical movie, yet the trilogy is now considered to be up there with some of the greatest episodes of the show.
The reason the Simpsons got bad is because the original golden age writers all left 20 years ago. South Park still has 95% of the crew it had from episode 1, and got more members over time, that’s why it’s so consistent.
I never knew that, I like the old Simpsons seasons and episodes but the newer ones suck and I can see why now,
I went to the cinema 3 times to see the movie when it released. I was in stitches every time. Like real hysterical foaming at the mouth, struggling to breathe laughter. On the day it came out on VHS, my friend bought it and we watched it over and over for days. I was obsessed with the soundtrack for years, and I think I still know most of the words to most of the songs.
I still think South Park is hilarious. I've recently rewatched all 23 seasons and the Pandemic Special, and it still makes me laugh. Matt and Trey's commentaries are also excellent and well worth listening to.

i still remember being 3-4 walking in on my brothers watching it even though i was told not to go in the room and watch, and walked in on the infamous "uncle fucker". since then, the show and matt and trey have been comedy parents in a way. i love south park and im happy that season 23 is doing better. i think they missed the controversy and when china banned them, they got a little bit of life back

It's the same reason why the simpsons began to lose popularity. South Park was very much counter culture at the time, attracting viewers with its humor that was different than what you'd normally see. Now that this edgy humor is everywhere, South Park became the norm, not the exception.
I first watched the movie when I was like 14/15 and it was on Netflix, now I'm almost 21 and I would love to go back and watch it.

Hearing that you weren't even born when this movie came out is fucking with my head. I've been watching since the original episode aired in 1997 and I was 11. I saw this movie in theatres before high school. I remember rooting for Blame Canada to win the Oscar and watching Robin WIlliams perform it live. I've been watching this show for two-thirds of my life. That's just insane to think about.
But it speaks to how fantastic South Park is that people born after the show started up, maybe even kids born a decade or more after it started up, are able to get into and love it just as much as I have.
I'm in the process of ranking every single episode with the 300th episode and potential final season approaching. Going to be hard, but i'm going to enjoy watching all 297 episode a fuck of a lot.

South Park is my favorite still airing. The first time I really started watching was when I watched Imaginationland with my dad and this show is amazing. It has decreased in quality, but I wouldn't call it bad. Randy is complete gold, though I wanna see more of the kids if I'm being honest.
