I used this as a reference to replace the rear driver's side regulator on a 2011 Liberty. The differences between front and rear are minor and easy to figure out. This was the best video I could find. Thanks for posting it.
That was the most clear and comprehensive how to do it video I have ever seen. You have a real talent for making things easy to understand, excellent job!
Awesome video - just bought my son a 2012 Libery and the wire cable that controls the passenger side window got mangled / snapped - and would not have known where to begin without this. The whole unit was replaced in a few hours! 👍 It's greatly appreciated that you took the time to do this in order to help others - Thank you!
This is extremely helpful in getting my rear door panel off to access the regulator, but I'd like to see a video that actually replaces the regulator onto the door panel.
Good video but having a serious hard time with the white tab that releases the window from regulator. I really do not know how much more time you could have spent on that but it would have been nice to see a little more of that. Thanks
I routinely jump on RUclips for how to videos. I rarely comment on them but this particular video saved me a lot of money and was the best how to I have ever used. Thank you.
Thank you so very much for this step by step video. The local Jeep dealer wanted to charge my folks $700 to do this replacement. One thing I did do was add a little grease to the socket for mounting the bolt to the door handle so the nut wouldn’t fall off and you’d have to remove the whole unit again to find the bolt at the bottom of the door well. Great work and thanks again!
I'm sure this video saved me a bunch of work. I used it on a 2010 Nitro. It was close enough and the hidden screws you pointed out saved me a bunch of work and probably a bunch of broken plastic as I probably would have forced it. Thanks!!
If the regulator and motor is broken then how could we use the switch to move it up and down to get the clip? This makes no sense. How do I move window up and down without it working?
Thank you a million I can't believe everything works now with the door handle because of this video I should give you a feedback or a donation. It works.
Watched video a couple of times.. Very good step by step. Window works great. Only took me a couple of hours being careful. All that I can say is thanks. OEM wanted $538 for the part and a couple of hours on the book price to labor it in. O'Reilly's had the part in stock for $138. Your video was like having a helper w/out the extra hands.. !0 of 10n I rate this video.
top notch. thank you. the nut for the door exterior handle at 16:20 was the trickiest part, especially since I missed that part watching the vid while reassembly so I had to backtrack a few steps. 😅
So the wire broke in my wife's today, so the window is down tonight so I could find this very descriptive video !! 💯!! But I know your 20 min video is going to be 4 hours by the time I stop pause and Rewind and look and make sure again and double-check. But I feel confident this video will have me moving right along I just got to figure out why the wire broke
Update, on the nut that extends inside the door. I would highly recommend putting tape around the nut and wrench so it does not fall inside your door, leading you to back stepping
That clip on the glass was a bear. I finally put pressure on in and had my wife push the window down first, and then up. Popped the first time we tried that.
Another thing to know is that the clip you are after actually goes through a hole in the glass. Make sure you are looking at the right thing because I was confused for awhile. One thing we did was to take a pair of tin snips and made the hole way bigger! If you are replacing the whole assembly as this guy did, the big ugly hole will go away when you replace the panel. Make it as big as you need. Maybe use a Dremel tool and really get a look at that clip.
This is great for the front window on reassembly where the window slides neatly into the new holder, but what about the rear door window that has no glide and the white window holder just moves all around and the cables come off??
This is the third time I've used your video to change the window regulator in my 2012 Jeep Liberty ... your video is the best and walks me right through it. Great job! Do you know of any inherent issues as to why mine would break three times in 9 months?
Hey thanks man! Your video was a great help! Although it wasn't the window regulator, the old one was about to go. Window goes up but won't come down. I'm assuming it's the master control switch so I'll just replace that and the passenger door switch and hopefully that'll work
I sure hope you will answer this question. So I had someone replace my window regulator and when they put it back on they did not reengage the lock. So now I can only open my vehicle with my remote. It is causing issues. And I need to fix it myself. I’m not saying in this video where you disengaged the door lock? Do you have an idea of what could be going on and how I could fix this?
My window couldn't roll up or down.. Thus the reason I was replacing the unit. I cut openings, using a rotozip, all the way up the old plastic looking for the plastic button that locks the window in. I ended up just snipping the old cable so I could move the window down freely to the original opening to pop that button. Thank you again for your video!
Hey! Thanks for the awesome video !! It was so easy to do. I’m not sure if you’ll see this but when I put everything back together, for some reason I do not have power to my front windows or electronic mirrors, but my back windows work!! Any idea ? I’ve gone over all plugs and what not and can’t seem to figure it out , my only thought is a wire was cut on the door frame?
Has anyone ran into the problem with the window going up or down just a little bit at a time after installing the new regulator? I have to like pull/push the button several times to get the window up or down.
replace the new rubber snubbers on the shuttle with the old ones and the window will snap right in if you have difficulty pushing the window into the new unit and the plastic snap lining up
The nut that holds the exterior door handle on can be put on and taken off without the panel on. Really appreciate the tutorial. Spent a few hours fussing with this. Got 90% done, ready to slide the window down and found the white clip that goes into the hole of the glass was crooked on the back of the panel. So furious. There's always fucking something isn't there?
Video was great, able to follow it to a T, but when tested functioning - goes down perfectly but when comes up gets stuck halfway, pushed window to rear of car, then continues to go up easily. Brand new regulator - any ideas?

That little white tab holding the glass on will not come off for the life of me. it's all chewed up by by screwdriver,I think I'm gonna drill it out slowly
Why do they make you replace the entire panel. Why can’t you just replace the regulator part? That’s the only part that broke. It’s perfectly capable of being fixed without replacing the whole panel. Or searching a junkyard doing the job twice 🙄

Same thing happened to me this week.

Thanks to your clear and detailed instructional video I was able to complete the replacement of the regulator.
Excellent video. Helped me a lot to install new window regulator. Without this would be much harder.
Thank you very much!
If the regulator and motor is broken then how could we use the switch to move it up and down to get the clip? This makes no sense. How do I move window up and down without it working?
Thanks for this video! I was able to replace both my DS front and DS rear regulators, without problems, by following your tutorial!
Thank you a million I can't believe everything works now with the door handle because of this video I should give you a feedback or a donation. It works.
There is no way I could have done this without you Thank you so much for the video it was excellent
excellent video saving tons of money from official repair store at Chrysler. Thankx man !!!

0:45 plz be aware, it's not a Phillips head screw, it's a T20. Regardless, excellent tutorials as always!
This was an awesome video. I could not have put in my window regulator without your help. God bless 🙏
Did this on my 2012 Liberty (Cherokee here), perfect thanks! You saved me!
You just convinced me never to take the door panel off
Great step by step video. Helped me change out the regulator with no issues
Nice video! Super helpful. You are a real professional. Thank you
Excellent video. It was clear and very helpful. Keep up the great work.
This video just saved me a whole lot of money!! thank you so much for doing that, I really appreciate it! Best video ever!
Great step by step instructions! My installation went perfectly thanks to your video.
Update, on the nut that extends inside the door. I would highly recommend putting tape around the nut and wrench so it does not fall inside your door, leading you to back stepping
Great video. I have practically no experience working on cars, and this video made it easy. Thanks!
How do you get the window to allow you to pull it up? I can't get that tab to come loose for anything!
That clip on the glass was a bear. I finally put pressure on in and had my wife push the window down first, and then up. Popped the first time we tried that.
Another thing to know is that the clip you are after actually goes through a hole in the glass. Make sure you are looking at the right thing because I was confused for awhile. Make it as big as you need. Maybe use a Dremel tool and really get a look at that clip.
I would suggest using a long skinny flathead and push into the door. You're basically flexing the white tab back.
This is great for the front window on reassembly where the window slides neatly into the new holder, but what about the rear door window that has no glide and the white window holder just moves all around and the cables come off??
Thanks!
Is there a video instructing how to reset the cable on the pulleys?
This is the third time I've used your video to change the window regulator in my 2012 Jeep Liberty ... your video is the best and walks me right through it. Great job! Do you know of any inherent issues as to why mine would break three times in 9 months?

Question?: does this regulator have a fuse? Should this be my first step to check?
Awesome. Made it much easier to change having never done one since the 90s. Much different now
I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but is it basically the same for the rear window, same side?
Is this the 6 pin or 2 pin connector part and how can I tell on my jeep liberty?
I sure hope you will answer this question. So I had someone replace my window regulator and when they put it back on they did not reengage the lock. So now I can only open my vehicle with my remote. It is causing issues. And I need to fix it myself. I’m not saying in this video where you disengaged the door lock? Do you have an idea of what could be going on and how I could fix this?
This video is great!
I follow step-by-step and did it all myself and saved 75.00.
Thank you!!! 😎👍
Great video! One of the best. Instructions and video are spot on. Have to attempt this tomorrow. I feel I can attempt it confidently.
I have been blessed that mine is stuck in the up position. How do i drop the window so that I can dis-engage the glass? Thanks in advance.
Great video. Really helped me change the part on my Liberty2012.
You guys are the best. Thanks for your helpful videos
Is there any thing different when doing the rear door window
Perfect! Fantastic video, couldn't have done it so easy without this video. Thank you 🙏💯😎🤙🏼
Thank you 🙏 this saved me some coin 😂
One of the best how-to videos I've seen, great job!
Best Video ever . Had to do the same job twice. And thanks to this video was able to finish the job both times. Thanks

FV - I have the same problem. Did you find a solution?
GOOD VIDEO DUDE! YOU MAKE IT LOOK EASY!
Thank you for watching!
This totally helped me so incredibly much. I was able to actually fix my wife's car.
Perfect ! Just what I need. Very well done video. Easy to follow.
Excellent video, well described as you went along. Saved my bacon! Thanks for posting! 😎
How and where do you disconnect the rod connecting the door handle to the locking mechanism?
At what point did you replace the window regulator?
Thank you, Sir. Surely appreciate the expertise and cordialness of your work.
Excellent instructional video. Worked exactly as described
Is the regulator the whole panel assymbly?
This is the stupidest window regulator design I've came across and I've done my fair share of window regulators .
Has anyone ran into the problem with the window going up or down just a little bit at a time after installing the new regulator? I have to like pull/push the button several times to get the window up or down.
Can you guys PLEASE do a tutorial on window regulator removal/replacement on 2007 - 2017 jeep compass??? PLEASE!!!!!
+Taylor Chatham We do not have a video for this repair right now, but we'll keep this request in mind for a future video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
What a PITA compared to others I’ve replaced. Video is great, Jeep Liberty design for a window regulator replacement is bad.
Nice thanks a lot
replace the new rubber snubbers on the shuttle with the old ones and the window will snap right in if you have difficulty pushing the window into the new unit and the plastic snap lining up
Great video. Made job easy. Thanks for a great video.
Thank you very much for the helpful video.

THANK YOU !! THANK YOU !!! THANK YOU!! You saved me $400 the stealer wanted to charge me.. Steak dinner on me next time your in the NY area!!!
+rmp608 Thanks for watching our video! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
looked easier putting it all back together instead of taking it apart but thank you!!!!
The nut that holds the exterior door handle on can be put on and taken off without the panel on.
Really appreciate the tutorial.

So many people with this problem. @jeep should have a recall and fixing it for free.
Its work for a dodge nitro 👍👍, thanks a lot
That little white tab holding the glass on will not come off for the life of me. it's all chewed up by by screwdriver,I think I'm gonna drill it out slowly
could you just replace the motor and not the whole unit?
Does not show the hardest part. Getting the window loose to go up. How many people helped him
No one on here has the rear window
And does not show him getting the inner panel loose by himself either. Another problem
Get to the hardest part, the white tab, press here…blah blah blah…cut scene and bring in the guy who knows hot to do it, back to action… thanks a lot.
That is mess to have to do.
Why do they make you replace the entire panel. Why can’t you just replace the regulator part? That’s the only part that broke. It’s perfectly capable of being fixed without replacing the whole panel. Or searching a junkyard doing the job twice 🙄
I want to pay someone now. I thought i could replace it mtself.
Thanks!
Excellent video, thank you so much!
