  • Hey everyone!
This is a step by step how-to on removing and replacing a carburetor (carb) on a Husqvarna power cutter.
People often refer to these as a “quick cut saw” or a “concrete saw”
I cover the required disassembly and swap out with a new aftermarket carb.
It’s working great and ready for the job site!
    Cheers,
    -Dave

Good job Dave, I am learning more and more about 2 stroke engines. It is so satisfying when you have a machine that is not working and you make it work! So i want to learn much more about it!

I mainly work on 4 stroke engines but its still nice to learn about 2 strokes. Hopefully this summer I can get my hands on some 2 strokes. Great video Dave! Joey from Ottawa

I'm working on a 770 I got sick of it , after a good month of working on it after work in my spare time I've managed to rebuild it ,make it run only to discover that if you set it at idle it will die , and if you have fuel in the tank it will flood the engine pouring out of the intake, it needs a new carb mine too .
Yours is missing a filter, it has two.
Plus you should check the carb tuning as it has to spin at 9300 rpm at max .
Mines going to spin at 8800 rpm for safety reasons.
The engine itself can go way higher I guess, but the fact it's not spinning a chain but a cutting wheel can become dangerous if it goes higher than what Husqvarna originally tuned them for.
Because the cutting wheel can actually break in pieces causing injuries

Hi, A very clean and informative video😊. I don’t know if you can suggest my problem with the same cutter, it runs but on full power it won’t reach top speed, and after running for some time, and you stop it, it then won’t start again.🤔

What were the symptoms of a faulty carb. I've just purchased a battered K760 and it starts fine, but when I press the choke in, the saw just goes into max revs and sounds like it's on full throttle

I have a k770 just put a new carb on it and it seems to smoke quite a bit. Is there any adjustment on these carbs? Or is there something else I should check?

Good video Dave. Those saws have a pretty crappy way of securing the intake manifold. Only 1 bolt. I've seen them leak there and burn up the cylinder, poor design from Husqvarna. Too bad, because these saws mare very expensive.

Another great video Dave.👍When you replaced the carb did you use an OEM carb or aftermarket. As you know i mostly flip mowers. If i have a carb that i cant get clean, i try to find another OEM carb that i can rebuild as i dont trust most of the Chinese carbs. I have better luck with OEM used than chinese. Your videos are very informative! 👏🇺🇸🇨🇦Roger

Hey Roger! I used aftermarket... I have had good luck. If you're lucky, the carbs are exactly the same but are end runs from the factory without the stamping. Cheers!

Holy cow thats a big saw, what does that weigh Dave, 20-pounds? I think those machines are on their way to obesity. You did a wonderful job repairing that saw, love watching you have fun with these repairs. And as always, thanks for sharing buddy. :)

    • @stellarproductions8888
      @stellarproductions8888 3 года назад

@@donyboy73 Yeah, I'm guessing no compression release, probably 80cc saw, high compression, that be a monster to start by pull. They need to install electric start on those things, or do the spring wind up start.
