Oh does anyone know what will happen to 91117 after it's use on the MML. Will it be stored again by Europhoenix for future uses, or will it be stripped and scrapped, or will it be preserved?
Yes it was certainly a smart locomotive and it is good to see it getting used. I believe after they've finished testing the Midland Mainline the formation will move onto the East Coast Mainline so it can test the wires and new signalling system. I know that the yellow HSTs (43013, 43014 and 43062) were overhauled and had the signalling system fitted and apparently it'll be based at Ferme Park a lot of the time
Not sure what will happen to the coaches because as you say they're still fully kitted out in XC, I think it's only on trial right now so maybe when or if it's approved the coaches will be modified with more equipment? That's just me guessing though, I could be completely wrong 😂 Thanks for watching! :)
As far as I'm aware it was only used to test the overhead wires with it's pantograph. I didn't hear the engine roaring in the typical Class 91 fashion so I can only assume it's the HSTs powering and the 91 testing :)
Yes it should show pathed as Diesel Locomotive at 125mph. The 91 is only for testing the overhead with it's pantograph. Currently it mainly operates out of Leicester L.I.P and runs between Bedford and Kettering but they are planning to start running further eventually.
It wasn't a Railtour my friend :) It was a test train operating from Leicester L.I.P. Check the freight services out of Leicester L.I.P on Realtime Trains and looks for the 1Q headcodes. That should help :)
Great to see 91117 doing something, its been stored for a while now. The class 91s are my favorite trains :)

Love the nameplate, Project Electra sounds great

Mate!! That was an awesome video. Subbed!!
Cheers pal, appreciate it :)
Makes sense to use 91 to test wires save cost of converting carriage to do same thing
Indeed, I totally agree! Also a very smart way to use a locomotive that was recieving no work til now :)
Funny a 92 weged in the consist probably a transfer good to see see it hitching a ride
It's a 91 btw
I saw this in Bedford today!
Awesome!
Christ theres an interesting formation for you! Whats the point of all the extra mk3s with all the intact XC interior?

Was the class 91 helping it along cause it was shifting

For the HST test train with 91, will it show on RTTs it’s operated for 125mph ? & where dose this mainly run ?
