You know what' s funny ? how false this comment is... Henry Killed around 300 Protestants and 300 Catholics during his reign. Mary Tudor killed 600 Protestants, so that's double the amount of her father. Also Henry the VIII is not remembered fondly by the Anglican Church of England or by English people as a whole. But the thing is Mary persecuting Protestants instituted by law as part of the Catholic Counter Reformation. Henry was a lot less bothered by the religious aspect and was more concerned about authority... that's why during the times of his reign before he endorsed the Reformation, he executed both Catholics and Protestants. And after is hierarchical separation from Rome and the acceptance of Reformation Church ideals and a different structure of church polity..., he still executed both Catholics and Protestants that he felt challenged his authority or in some other way failed him.
@@WC3isBetterThanReforged Idk about any other reformers, but Jan Hus was burned at the stake and potentially prophesied in a sense that a swan, who turned out to be Martin Luther, would succeed 100 years later (though it was slightly more than 100 years, and I'm a cessationist but of course miracles can still happen).
Outside of reformers there was also William Tyndale around the time of the start of Anglicanism, he was strangled and then his body was burned.
@@WC3isBetterThanReforgedThe reformers were in danger, luckily they were heavily protected because they gained the support of many monarchs and governments. They were in danger of persecution because of the long history of catholic persecution against proto protestant groups. Look up the Waldensians and the brutal persecution they faced. Look at medieval catholic theology-an essential doctrine during this time was “exterminating heretics” that dared to disagree with the pope and the terrible practice of papal indulgences
What a wonderful birthday present!
I identified Cornerstone OPC (0:08) in Houston in a split second. I have visited this wonderful congregation a few times. A lovely church!
This is the only channel I'll be nostalgic for when I'm older. It's like a home.
As a Lutheran, i think bro just made me belive in calvinism and now i am questioning to become a presbyterian
Find a Presbyterian church in the map below!
@@redeemedzoomer6053you know there's a stereotype where every time a Lutheran is integrated into Calvinist circles, he becomes Calvinist. To the point where the joke is that Lutherans segregate from Calvinists so that they don't become reform.
It's funny because I'd like to see how rabid the reform faith would go if every Lutheran majority city received one reform minister preaching. Lol.

@@WC3isBetterThanReforged i agree with calvinism, God is omnipresent. He exists in multiple places and places of time at once. It would make sense that he knows if your gonna go to hell bc he exists everywhere. Scholasticism far-predates the reformation. Thomas Aquinas was a scholastic.
I'm aware. I was referring to the period of Protestant scholasticism because this video is about Presbyterians
This video is going to be fire! God bless you Redeemed Zoomer ❤️
I love the simplicity, yet the depth and funny style of the video. Great job!!!
As a native Reformed Baptist Pennsylvanian I must kindly correct you: the Tennent Log College was founded in Warminster, Bucks County, PA. Otherwise great video and love your channel.
brazilian here! went to the link in the description and was surprised to see my city's presbyterian church where i go!!! your videos are amazing! God bless your work :)
RZ,
I don't think you realize just how great of an impact God is having through you. I'm a Baptist who was saved two years ago at 28 years. I see such a great future for you and love what you're doing for the reconnaissance. The wisdom you have at such a young age is profound. You're an immense impact on my faith journey, God bless you!

1:09 William Tyndale was killed by Henry VIII after he had already broken away from the Catholic Church
He had his problems with Henry VIII and did asked God to open Henry's eye before he died, but he was executed in Belgium, which was ruled by the Habsburgs. The inquisitor of his case also let him write some books putting foward his points, and wrote his own books in refutation to during the process.
William Tyndale was banished by Henry VIII.
He was killed by Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor.
@@IamGrimalkin It was a joint effort. He was apprehended by agents of Henry VIII and turned over to Charles V.

Hello Zoomer, Northern Irish presbyterian here, loving the use of the Ulster Banner (red hand of Ulster) for the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. You should check out the Free Presbyterian Church of Ulster. Great bunch of lads.
Why even be Presbyterian heretic as you are already predestined to heaven or hell???
Up the union!!!!
Shamelessly stolen from the real, yellow and red flag of Irish Ulster.
The mainline Presbyterian church in Cameroon stayed faithfully.
3:12 As a Star Wars fan, I love how you put Calvin and Knox as Vader and Starkiller respectively.
Catholics: we’re not looking so bad now are we?
not at all
The Church did not kill John Wycliffe, they only dug up his bones and burned them. :)
An honor formerly only bestowed on Pope Formosus ...
Jan Hus anybody?

This is an amazingly well done video
Fantastic video. I learned a lot. I'm Anglican. Maybe you can give us this same treatment, if you haven't already.
Hey Redeemed Zoomer, you should visit Geneva College in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania sometime. Small RPCNA college. At 13:21 you included a picture of my brother’s church!
14:38 interesting thing that, even though it was the Americans who brought Presbyterianism to the Philippines, it's now the Korean Presbyterians leading most churches here.
The main line presby church in Korea is less more like PCA care less sacrament and the split off one is more like PCUSA but with more conservative belief.
Hey reedemed zoomer can you make a video on the crusades please?
FOURTH CRUSADE?
@@prins_af_danmark why the forth crusade
@@prins_af_danmark the fourth crusade arguably wasn't even a real crusade since all of the crusaders were excommunicated after they helped besiege Zara for the venetians to pay off their debts.
An entertaining showcase of Presbyterian history. Thank you.
I really appreciate your videos. I was heavily influenced by word of faith teaching due to my grandfather pastoring a WOF church. It left me disenfranchised with the faith for a long time, and more of a progressive Christian. God pulled me out of that life, and into a Calvinistic Baptist church. I ended up marrying my husband who was saved in college while going to R.C. Sproul’s church. We both are still learning, but lean heavily Presbyterian and would attend a Presbyterian church if we weren’t so heavily involved in our little Baptist one. Your videos have helped greatly in understanding the beliefs of the Presbyterian denomination, thank you and God bless.
This is phenomenal. I'm Presbyterian and I didn't even know this - UPCUSA - but in South Africa - so UPCSA
This is very interesting and also helpful to understand American history better.
Do more of this, crazy history lesson thanks.
The picture used at 7:57 for Cornelius Burges is actually a portrait of William laud who was promoted Archbishop of Canterbury and enforced Arminianism ideas in the Church of England during Charles 1st rule
The Presbyterian church in Egypt is still faithful also and we are fighting very hard to stay like that
God bless
I'm a Brazil Presbyterian member
It really is just 500 years of splits
Please do a video of the history of all denominations. Can’t wait to see how long the Catholic one is.
About 2000 years long 😉
There would be too much stuff to cover compared to the presbyterians video, that I don't think his format of videos would do justice to a lot of subjects.
@@diogomelo7897yes. Took hundreds of years for catholic heresies to evolve the way that they did😂
From a church simple and with pure gospel. To one with creepy dolls and statues. And praying to mary and people in heaven. And penance and indulgences. And useless rosaries.

And before Nicaea, Irenaeus established the authority of Rome, which has never stopped being upheld in Rome
Nah. And not a single person at Nicaea believed what Rome believes today.
@@KnightFel That's irrelevant and I doubt it. I doubt most people at Nicaea believe what Presbyterians or most protestants believe today. Turns out, different issues come about at different times and need to be addressed by an authority. Shocker!
BASED
@KnightFel then it means they are defective of a more ancient and foundational tradition, in which either you are most consistent with what the scriptures say or most consistent with what the church fathers established (over time with earlier having more authority). The Roman Catholic church's position on this issue may or may not have been well established at the council, but it would only look bad if Nicea didn't follow Rome if consistency of tradition is based on the church fathers, not the other way around.
@KnightFel to be clear, Irenaeus established things about 200 years before Nicaea, and was much closer to the apostles, which would further my prior point

@@redeemedzoomer6053 On behalf of your Catholic base I can tell you we would love that. Please make sure you include the SSPX!! That's right, we have our own interesting disagreements even in the modern Church, particularly as it relates to Council VII. There are sedevacantists, "Benevacantists," and regular "rad-trads" who don't reject the current Pope but who do actively resist his heresy. Of course there are also terribly liberal societies inside the Church, like the Jesuits (of which Pope Francis is one), and individuals like Fr. James Martin who resemble liberal Methodists more than even moderate Catholics. We have our own spectrum, and though it is a parallel reckoning, it is a reckoning not unlike your own reconquista. Catholics need to recover their own Tradition too, and we also struggle with how to do this.
While, as "radical Traditionalists," the SSPX undoubtedly unashamedly professes things which are rejected by Protestantism, I still think that due to their orthodox viewpoints and sincere piety on balance, they are friends of the reconquista (even if we see the ultimate goal of something like that as a return to actual historical Catholicism, once it goes back to being what the Reformation was even actually about)

Preaching what word of God??? That you are predestined to heaven or hell, so even bother going to church???
Scripture, Genesis to Revelation? We preach because the Bible tells us to do it. We congregate because the Bible tells us to do it. Those who are predestined to salvation will do that, and those not predestined don’t even care about it.
@@rochalima28 it does not even matter because your doctrine is satanic and second you are predestination to heaven or hell independent of you hear the false word of God that Calvinist preach
@@rochalima28 Still not answering the question, if you are predestined to hell or heaven independent if you preaching the satanic doctrine of Calvinist, why even bother to do so because your actions do not mean anything.
@@jeffreyrodrigoecheverria2613 That’s the point. Our actions are not a requirement but fruits of our salvation. The ones who God predestined will hear His Word and be saved. Specifically His Word. God predestined them to specifically go through this path, know Him and love Him.
