- The Miyoo Mini Plus is tiny but it packs a punch! It's retro, beautiful, and very easy to use. Here are my thoughts.

So what do you think of the Miyoo Mini Plus? Love it? What would you recommend instead?
Not gonna lie I have the vita which is modded but I need to sort it out. But the flip I may get as it looks mint. Love your videos please keep up the good work. You're beautiful aswell and love the reviews.
I own this handheld, even in the same color. It's a fun and well made device. I installed the dev branch of OnionOS and play Settlers II when I'm on a bus. A bit slow, but perfectly playable.
That’s impressive for this device! Maybe I do need Onion OS after all…
@@Emily_Lowreyonion is is part of the reason to get the device to begin with. So many optimizations and way more features
Yeah, I actually paid extra for a seller to install Onion on the system because I don't want to risk bricking it.
@@Emily_Lowrey Games run a lot more smoothly in Onion. Especially PS1 games. Also, with Onion, I don't even take out my SD card from the Mini to copy files. I just type the Mini's IP address in my computer's web browser and the SD card opens up a new tab in my PC's browser. I then open up file explorer and drag the files into the Onions tab in the browser. Boom! Done!. It's soooo convenient!
I have a 3ds but I always wanted a gaming device that was more compact, easy to just pick up and play and have a huge collection of games to boot. Plus, I grew up with 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit games (yeah, I'm old haha) and this little beauty has it all. I can't wait for it to arrive. Good review!

I have the same atomic purple Miyoo Mini Plus, and it is very cute. I grew up with a yellow DMG and atomic purple GBC and I like the shell on this one. I got mine about a month ago, and it is the perfect handheld to take with me on trips or have a game sesh on my lunch break at work. Not the most powerful handheld but it hits that GameBoy nostalgia so well.

i agree with the review miyoo mini plus is great for on the go. has just the right screen size and excellent build quality although i do recommend upgrading the speaker which does improve the audio dynamics makes game boy/arcade games sound awesome again
I also had a original game boy smd colour so this for Pokémon sounds mint.
Really good review. I had the turquoise Gameboy Color as a kid. I found my original Yellow cart and the battery still worked! It had a save file of 150hrs on it 😮
Haha mine is about the same I think with Yellow as well it hardly left the device!
This is an excellent review - I had the transparent purple Gameboy Colour and I have the Miyoo Mini + on order in the same! I’m treating my inner child to it! Would be great if you could do some gameplay vids, you’ve got a really great style of presenting

I have both the rg35xx and the MM+ it's a great carry device. . I use the 405m the most . Great buy and with onion os it's a great experience.

In my opinion I would say yes I'm not a technical guy but it was fairly easy and with WiFi the OTA updates are great also modding it was addictive . I play snes and GBA more than anything. Great review .
Performance are about the same with Onion OS, it’s really the software experience that is mainly improved, with a lot of new features and ease of use
huge fan of the mini plus. Get Onion OS going (its easy) for much better front end and options. Also look up tiny best set go for an easy and great set of ROMs to add. The multiplayer really works too
It really is such a nice handheld. For me it's perfect for downtime between classes.
I own the ps vita and its a vanilla never been modded or hacked and i like it that way. I just got a miyoo mini plus 2 days ago. And i must admit im loving it. I was able to get hamtaro ham ham heartbreak on it and it works (has onion os), i own hamtaro on my gameboy advance sp it was my first ever game i owned and finished start to finish as a kid so it has a special spot i just love that game. And all the pokemon games 🥰😍 something i love. My miyoo mini plus is white to match in with my switch, ps5 and xboxone/seriess.😊
100% worth it, especially in Game Boy grey.

@@jamieroach5755 definitely worth it! i did get onion OS installed and I recommend that also if you think choosing the theme and having a smoother gaming experience is for you.
It has literally all the retro games you think of and i recommend too to get the miyoo mini plus that has the most storage so you’re guaranteed to have the games you want on there.
All my childhood games are on the miyoo mini plus and im obsessed and its fun letting friends and family find old games they used to play on there :) if you’re wanting to connect it to TV i recommend a different retro gaming system since that was does not have an HDMI port.
Because of its small size i don’t have long play sessions on the miyoo mini plus maybe 1-2 hour max but its still something fun to play and take with you!
So yes! Buy it now, haha!

Can anyone explain the pokemon colored games? I tried one out when i got my Miyoo V2, and just couldn't figure out the hype...
They’re very same-y! If you like the format of collecting, levelling up, beating the gyms, you’ll love them all. If not they might not be for you

Nice review. 👍 I'm old enough to remember Retro when it was New, even back to 2600. 🫤 I recently got a puuuurple Miyoo mini+ like you. I also have an original Gameboy color in Purple from new. 🫡 I was too old for Pokemon.... and yet now I really am too old I like Pokemon, well for what little I've played. FYI Onion doesn't need much tinkering, looks nice too!
