The Whisky Show London is always a good one but The Whisky Event and Edinburgh Whisky Festival are also bangers

keen eyes David! we were wondering if anyone would notice that - definitely not the only shenanigans going on at the show
At 4:22, the rep from Torahbhaig said something very confusing. He mentioned seasoning in Spain and 5 years in the same breath. He obviously could not have meant that the sherry casks have been seasoning in Spain for 5 years? I must assume that what he meant to say was, that these First-Fill Ex-Sherry casks *have* been seasoned (past tense) in Spain (for 2 years?) and then they were brought to the distillery where they have been maturing their spirit for 5 years.
I’d say it’s unlikely casks have been seasoned for that long - although certainly not impossible!
not entirely sure Reb; you'll have to do some whisky cask investigating and let us know!
