I live on few acres and although I don't have the pipes to do this call myself. I play this loud on my computer speakers to call my dogs homes...AND IT WORKS EVERY TIME!

Kulning is supposed to be the loudest expression of a human voice ever expressed. Over 100 dB! And it never dies, just goes on and on. Not only beautiful but also very practical.
My cat started going merrily bonkers when this video played. She chirped, purred, got up and started rubbing against my tablet. Apparently it works on all animals, not just cattle.
so I live in CA and we bought some cattle recently and I want to try this beautiful song and my grandmother sang it once and I want to use it on my cattle can it still work in CA
I watched RUclips videos. Jonna Jinton is a favorite. I haven’t looked for kulning videos for quite awhile. I got discouraged kulning later that year. Not all of our cows responded like these ones. Just like people. 🤷♀️
The tones are not what they are responding to. It could be any song. The animals are picking up the intent (request) of the human being's consciousness.
the sami are from the area around finland. amazing hunters and they held great reverence to the old gods of nature. but they didnt invent kulning my friend :)
jonna does a lot of kulning, so she can do it, the girl here is not as experienced at her, so of course she wont be as good. also, jonna often does it somewhere in the mountains, where the sounds echoes against the walls so it sounds better
I agree! Jonna was my inspiration for even trying this. She is amazing, and I love what she can do. This was only my second attempt. The first was while riding a horse, but I was laughing a lot of the time. I was near where I kulned here, but closer to the river, and there were better echoes.

You should mention that this is the traditional music of the SAAMI people -- the indigenous people of Scandinavia.
Kulning was developed by Swedes (mainly from Dalarna) and parts in Norway, not by the sami people.

Jonna definitely has more experience, but I’m pretty sure she also edits the audio in her videos to have more reverb
