    Loved watching that. Was such a good time. If you are a backpacker, you have to get to the Sierra at least once a year. Excellent video!

    Happy birthday, you picked an incredible place to be.
    This lake was epic years ago... until people started posting RUclips videos about it.
    To all who fish here PLEASE put back the browns. This is a wild trout fishery and hasn’t been stocked in decades. the average brown was 3x bigger only 5-10 years ago.

    Just GORGEOUS!! Never heard of it, but you take us to some GREAT places!! We use Pack It a lot! Too bad about the mosquitoes...we are trying the bracelets next time. Fishing looks good there. Ohhhh NO!! Too bad about the Rod, tho. Monica was killin it! Awesome views😁great campsite you snagged😉 The lakes are just WOW 😲🏆🥇PRIZE WINNER FISH!!     You are in our backyard. One of our favorite places to hike. Spent lots of time on chicken foot lake.
    BTW My Orvis fly rod broke in the same place on my trip this last weekend too. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun. Reach out next time your up. We can fish.

    Damn, thats a really pretty backdrop for some fishing! I'll admit, I haven't cast a rod since I was a teenager, but all these fishing videos coming out lately is starting to get me missing it a bit!
    Absolutely sick area. That turquoise water, absolutely love it! Very similar to the views we get up here in Western Canada in the rockies

    Hi Jason, your videos are awesome. I'm going to Eastern Sierra soon. May I ask what is the name of the lake (I heard you said Big Fish Lake but I could not find it on the map) towards to the end of your video that you caught several brook trouts before you go to Long Lake ? I'm planning to to do a day hike see there see I could enjoy like you guys did. Thanks in advance.

    I take it you entered from Pine Creek? I've always wanted to do Morgan Pass but from one end to the other. Not sure which way to go is the best for an old guy like me. Thanks for sharing.

      Actually from Rock Creek at Mosquito flats. The trail going down into pine creek got washed out last year.

      @@HuckOutdoors Thanks, Huck. We're thinking of an August fishing trip with base camp at one of Gem Lakes. We would day hike to Chickenfoot Lake on Day #2 and to Upper Morgan Lake on Day #3. We would return to car on Day #4. Would you suggest any changes to our plan? Thanks again.

    gonna take that as a day hike. Going with some beginners gonna take rod or too. Get there about 8-9am. What do you think? You got there early and good parking. Need permits for a day hike?

      No permits needed for a day hike, but i'd get there closer to 7 AM.

      You can day hike this area and camp below the lake. There are cabins available to rent nearby.

    Wow great video. You killed it on those brookies! What were you using? I was at Cottonwood Lakes this same weekend, ended up with 5 golden trout but they made us work for them! Could hardly get them to bite. We were using Sierra slammers, kastmasters and atomic tubes. Seemed like the tubes with a little trout worm tail finally worked the best. Great video looks like you had a blast.

      I was using mostly minijigs on the brooks. Either Sierra Slammers in a 1/32oz or 1/64 oz. I had a friend at Cottonwood last weekend. Love catching some good goldens! Thanks for watching!

    Great video three questions how many miles was the whole hike 2 how cold did it get 3 and did they allow fires ?

      To the back lake it is about 4 miles. It got into the low 30s. No fires.

    That looked like a amazing trip thank you for sharing your adventures question I’ve been looking to do something similar with my son which is 11 years old what is the skill level to attempt this adventure

      It is an easy hike, except you are up over 10,000' the whole time. It may be better to make a it a full day trip and camp at a lower elevation with your son.

      There are rattlesnakes in some of the areas. I do not carry bear spray. If i was in an area that had grizzly bears, I would carry bear spray then.

      We were going to fry up the fish the last night and all we caught next to camp were smaller fish. I should have kept the larger ones from big fish lake for dinner.

      @@molos3466 If you dont have a permit yet, get in touch with the White Mountain Ranger station in Bishop. You will most likely need to do a walkup permit.
