This video is right to the point, easy to understand with visuals and your explanation. I’ve had sciatic nerve pain for 5 weeks. I’m waving the white flag 🏳️ and going to the doctor this week because I keep waking up with muscle spasms. The pain radiates through my left hip/buttocks down to my outer left ankle. It’s awful. Hugs to anyone experiencing this pain because it is not easy to cope! ❤

I wish I could give you 1 million thumbs up at one time. Because these exercises really, really, really, REALLY helped me. Thank you. One question, I am 60, should I do these exercises everyday always?
After i was diagnosed sciatica 15years ago 7:24 and got treated my right leg is always cold and numb in some parts especially the foot.thank you for this clear and educational lesson doctor.
Such a satisfying explanation ..I have an inflammation on the left lower back and just above the left hip ..sometimes pain occurs on the area just below the knee on the outer side...
The nicest video (informative, straight to the point) and Dr. A bad case of sciatic hit me just before Covid lockdown to the point of not being able to walk or do anything. Guess I had overdone myself running around for my job. Fortunately, I've always done swimming, walking and "soft" yoga (to relax, wind down) which includes these mentioned in the video. Knowing your body, and as Dr. says "improve with easy and effective exercises'. A million thanks Dr Hui. We need more people like you.
Dear Alex, thank you profoundly for your very clear explanations on the causes of sciatica pain. A great overview followed by very easy-to-perform tests. Your recommended exercises are such a valuable toolbox. I really appreciate your kindness and care by sharing this excellent video. Many blessings to you. 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you very much for taking the time to explain and to show me what to do to resolve this sciatica pain, I'll start working on the exercises and stretches right away. I'll get back to let you know how they are working out for me. Thanks again for taking the time to explain very clearly.
Alex, you are the BEST!!! Thank you so much for your clear explanations on the causes of sciatica pain. The pictures helped me understand what is going on in my lower back and the cause of my herniated disisk. The exercises you recommended are such a great tool to stop the pain. Thanks again!!!😊
My recent MRI of Lombart shows an L4-L5 disk bulging. So much pain, couldn't stand more than 2-3 minutes, could not walk, and lots of pain. Buging disk means space between 2 disks become smaller and pushing liquid towards the middle spine canal cavity and causing pain by pushing the spine. So while searching RUclips, I found out about the Inversion table. After watching a few testimonials, I realized that the inversion table basically hangs the body upside down and expands the entire spine. Looks like the space between disks is increased. So I search the internet and found an inversion table for $99.00. Using only 5 mins a day on a 60% incline level, no immediate help in the first 15 days, then a little less pain after 30 days, and ALL pain was gone after 60 days. Literally NO PAIN. It does the work, looks like my entire back spine is stretched, and increased the space between L4-L5 and blood may be circulating more. Increasing the space between disks pushed back the bulge inside its original space by relieving spine nerve pinch. What a miracle. Maybe the local gym may have an inversion table, everybody should try it.
Yooooo, mate I also have L4-L5 disk and a disk also in the back. And Im literally dying from and I have it from exactly 10years Im not kidding or overreacting not even a pinch. Doctors have thought that the pain comes froom the brain and started giving me depression medicines like "pregabalin". I left it behind and left all docs behind. I have 3MRI's on neck, back and legs. But Im suffering like very much. I didn't understand you how the spine gets space. But please send me this link to 99$ or if you have anything saved or memorized. Like please, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you I pray it helps! Comes and goes never know when and pain is excruciating! Very helpful and enjoyed your explanations and the visual as well ! 🙏🙏🙏
Dr. Alex, I wish you are in Toronto, so we all can get the advantage of your expertise, Thanks a million for making us relief from this terrible pain!!!! GOD BLESS!!!!
Thank you so much doc Alex I'll try my best to follow your demonstration about sciatica relief at present I'm suffering sciatica pain ty again doc.& god bless.
This was great information. Some years ago, I was lifting some furniture and then immediately experience back pain. The following day, I went to the Doctor and received medication. Every since, I have had this discomfort in my left leg, down to the big toe. It doesnt really pain. Overtime, my show wears uneven. My left is smaller in size to the right. What do you suggest Doc?
Thanks for the explanations Dr. Alex. They are well known, but you actually show some variations of the exercises I have not seen before. I'm suffering from almost all the possible causes, herniated disks, spinal stenosis and definitely piriformis syndrome. What would help me a lot is to find out why my piriformis muscle is getting so tens. It does that all the time and stretching it is a kind of Sisyphus game. If anybody here has a clue what is tightening up my piriformis, please let me know.
@@davidfreitas1585 thanks for trying, but that is not what I'm looking for my problem is tension building up slowly due to nerve damage. That's one answer I already know, and it could be it. I'm looking for other possibilities. It's not a matter of feeling when the muscle is firing, I can do that.
EXCELLENT, ADVICE,...I SUFFERED FOR SO LONG, EVERYTHING YOU SAID HELPS . IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT OF EFFORT, BUT THE RESULTS ARE GREAT AND I DO NOT NEED TO TAKE ANY DRUGS, MY GO TO CHANNEL FOR THIS ISSUE AND I SEND ALL MY FRIENDS TO WATCH THIS VIDEO,..
Excellent explanation for understanding better about Sciatica nerve pain, I am suffering from this problem from last 3 years, today I understand better, Thanks Dr. Alex.
Thanks so much Doctor for sharing this video. I was also struggling to issues too and not only me but many people surrounded me in my village. They are also looking to learn more about nervous diseases, its imppacts and treatments.
Thank you Dr. Alex Hui for sharing these immeasurable helpful exercises. I have been experiencing this nerve pain recently and am so happy to have come across your Vlog. I have taken SciatiEase (supplement) but it gave me a drastic reaction(swollen and stiff knee) and had to return the whole bottle with a loss of 50%. I see there is nothing to lose in trying out your exercise. God bless.
Thanks doctor! I have always sat in a curvy position for a long time now...my bad I know 😒 could this also be a possible cause for nerve damage - sciatica?
Thank you so much Alex. This is the best video I have ever watched regarding this issue. A great overview with very efficient exercises. I really like you videos. Keep up the good work please. Ps: Even the physiotherapists am seen over the years couldn^t advice such good and easy to do exercises. Thank you again one more time 😀😀😀👌👌
Thank you so much Dr Alex Hui. Excellent and much appreciated video, presentation with clear explanations I'd say this is the best video ever seen. Sciatica has affected me in the past 2 years. Fortunately, I've always done the exercises you recommend to stretch, relax and alleviate the pain - it works and it's efficient. Breathing properly is important. Acupuncture has also helped just as swimming and specific exercise in the pool.
Although one must probably differentiate that during the acute faze of sciatica it is better to be much more gentle with the nerve. Pulling muscles means pulling nerve - pulling a sore inflamed nerve will worsen the pain. One must allow it to heal a little and proceed carefully and gently with any exercise.
Hi Alex, thanks for sharing. Is there any way to determine if it is spondylolisthesis? Also, any exercise to correct it? I am experiencing numbness on my mid back and a protruding pain there at times. Thanks.
