  • Joe and his razor sharp band rock the upmarket audience at the Cannes Festival in France, January 1969. Maybe the only colour film of Joe Tex and band in concert.
Always the entertainer, Joe fits some boogaloo, a band procession, sax solo, audience participation and trademark microphone tricks into the funky 5 minute workout.

Wow what a star performer this guy is, and what a sound. Most of us here in the UK only know him for "Bump No More" & "Get Dancin,'" but I've just recently understood a whole lot more about Joe Tex.

I had a friend (God rest his soul.) who worked at King Records as a graphic designer, and he told me that ever since they were label mates, there was no love lost between James Brown, and Joe Tex.

Joe Tex was the better ballad singer but JB smokes him in everything else. They are too similar. I can see why they had issues.
