Bloodraven is honestly the coolest character in ASoIaF. Who can beat an Albino, Targaryan, bastard, wizard, master of whisperes, warg, greenseer, hand of the king and lord commander of the night's watch.
True! The show did not even introduce his character well. They just made a some king of old dude just chilling on a tree while waiting for Bran. He's like one of the most fascinating and important characters in the ASOIAF story. *deep sigh
He took it with him. To the wall. And when (I think) bran and crew get attacked by walkers and meera walks outside to see what happens she takes a sword with her inside. (watch back the Hold the door scene) Perhaps its Dark Sister.
Thanks for a dose of Bloodraven "realness". The show didn't play up or extrapolate about Byryden Rivers and his cool story, so it was sad to see him die on the show without his back story or his motivations...he was just a mysterious, powerful guy who'd been watching events from a tree for "a thousand years". Oh, and there is no "Dark Sister" to pass along in the show. I look forward to learning more about him in the books.
I just read "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" so this information is very welcome and I just love your voice! Please keep up the good work. Your to do list must be getting absurdly long by now🍻
After the Hodor scene in the last episode, I have to admit it was one of the few times a series made me tear up. Losing Bloodraven, the goal of Bran's quest, and then Hodor, who has been an amazing simpleminded character, was simply too devastating.
I kind of feel bad for Aenys Blackfyre, he tried to become the king by peaceful means and was killed for it, who knows, he might have made a good king.
It's interesting that both Bloodraven and the Ghost of High Heart were albinos I guess it's a common trait among greenseers. Its also interesting that he served as Lord Commander for 13 years.
Bloodraven is friggin legendary the show killing him off the way they did I can't see it happening that way in ASOIAF.. The show version is a thousand and one years old lol
Bran only started to get Green Dreams and started on his journey to become a Greenseer after falling from the tower. I suspect enduring or surviving some trauma is necessary to active Green Dreams. I suspect this occurred for Bloodraven at Redgrass field when Bittersteel removed his eye. Bloodraven isn't known to have had any children, much less legitimate ones to carry on his name. Also whilst it says he served on Daeron's Small Council. I find it hard to believe he served in any other capacity than Master of Whisperers.
SWEET!!! I did NOT know that back story. That was awesome!! The next important character is the other half-brother of Sansa who has reassembled the Tully army in the Riverlands. Can't think of his name but he seems like he has an interest back story.
He is a great misunderstood character, he may be quit cruel in some areas but his loyalty is anything but unsure , also has one of the most badass names of the series. here is my top five to give a clue: 1. +Flying Spectacles at this point i'm not even convinced the "Three Eyed Raven" in the show *is* Brynden Rivers. they never identify him as such, he has two eyes, no winestain birthmark, and he tells Bran that he's a thousand years old. i think the show is just treating him as literally some old hobo stuck in a tree.

@Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix yeah he did the right in killing aenys blackfyre
the only thing missing was a fucking dragon
Holy shit, Bloodraven is the ultimate ride or die bitch. Who else would commit literal war crimes for the good of the kingdom?
And half valyrian (he's possibly could tame a dragon if they exist during that time)
It's pretty neat how whenever theres a half targaryen half first man character, they're super interesting. Bloodraven and jon snow
It's a shame they didn't acknowledge his real identity. I was hoping he'd give Dark Sister to Meera.
True! The show did not even introduce his character well. They just made a some king of old dude just chilling on a tree while waiting for Bran. He's like one of the most fascinating and important characters in the ASOIAF story. *deep sigh

hello darkness my old friend
Love this guy he’s my favorite all time character. Wish we had a POV chapter with him in it, in the dunk and egg books.
I personally think characters like him are better without a POV, adds to the mystery element if we can't get a sense of his thought process.
