Isn't that the truth! All my life, when i present things to people, they have been telling me they don't believe this, they don't believe that. I strangely don't care that much whether people believe in things or not. The varied and differing opinons of people are endless.

I've only seen a picture of the Salt River once, daunting place. I can picture a man lost, disoriented trying to outrun hunger & thrist. Hell comes in many forms. The desert has it's fair share of evil forces. It's a great place for a test. The Savior went into the wilderness for 40 days. He passed the test probably more than a man could endure & lived. He faced the prince of this world & rebuked him. Both are true stories.
I trust in God's mercy and I know everyone is being looked after by God in the spiritual world at this very moment. I just hope all my famliy that died are in paradise. I am no LDS but I do have faith in the people who do sacrifices and prayers for them In the spiritual prison. I know one day I will enter the spirit world where I will be sarrounded by everyone I loved very much and the people who I never heard of. And I'm also looking forward to learning more about Gospal truth and how to to better prepare myself for God's 2nd coming. I really want to get to know all of my loved ones and ancestors and ask them interesting questions when I go there.
This may sound strange to you, but I find much of your words comforting. I just lost my dog who was fourteen years old. I knew I would grieve over her when she passed, but it doesn't make it any easier. I would like to know if she is happy where she went, so your words are reassuring to me like an answer to a prayer. I realize it pales in comparison to losing a person, like when I lost my father several years back. I know with all my heart that we will see all of our loved ones again, and I hope and pray that they are all happy in the place where they are now. For the sake of the world, the Lord requires of us that our hearts our set upon our ancestors and those who are still with us, lest God smite the earth with a curse and there be no flesh left. I hope and pray that you find comfort as well with the sure knowledge that you will be reunited with all of your lost loved ones.

But I need a question from you. If I were to die and go to the spirit world. Who would do temple sacrifices for me? None of my famliy are Lds but Catholic.

The Bible teaches of the necessity of continued revelation. There are two thousand years of people passing away. Many have never even heard of Christ. Most of them can't be found using simple geneology. Their names must be revealed through revelation. That is a great work yet to be accomplished. Either that or we are so close to the millenium, where we will witness a large scale resurrection. Consider this: "...neither, when I call the righteous in mine anger that I have abandoned them. Nor have I forsaken the generations of your fathers; for I am the Redeemer of all men who are willing to be redeemed, and my bowels are filled with compassion for them all. Wherefore, I give unto them space in which to repent." Whatever God's plan is, we can all rest assured that in His infinite wisdom He has a plan of salvation for us all, if we are willing.
David P. Kimball's experience is by far the most popular story I put out. It really resonates with a lot of people despite my poor delivery. He sacrificed much rescuing the handcart company, carrying people across the freezing river on his back. I have read how David's mother Vilate was a true saint. She used to search out homeless and down on their luck people and feed them and clothe them. She never swore and was the sweetest, kindest woman people ever met. Full of charity which was the pure love of Christ.

@Owl_Lover I've seen them several times in dreams & once right in front of my face in the middle of the night. I was on my mission in Bolivia (2001). It held me bound!!! I couldn't move or speak to cast it out. It was terrifing! I'll never forget it. Although I don't speak of it much because people don't believe me. Also, I don't like to bring in darkness.

I know several Laytons. You are the third Layton I have been in contact with in the last few months. I think something is telling me to read his biography. I was only about two weeks ago, I had a 30 minutes discussion with one of them. I asked him if he had the Biography of Christopher Layton, as I have an electronic copy of it. He said he had the book. He was telling me about his experience in the Mormon Battalion, and he made a lot of money selling to the prospectors in California, which he used all of it to finance a whole bunch of people to emigrate to Utah. To this day, many of the long time residents of Arizona speak fondly of his memory.

I met a missionary who went into the mountains on his mission with the Branch President and his comp and they met two beings who told them all about the Church and what was to happen. When they got down the mountain the mission president was waiting for them and when they all told him what they saw, they were told to never mention it or they would be excommunicated. A few months later, one of them was with a few Church members in a stake center and the two beings appeared again. It caused such a commotion in the ward, stake and mission that two of the missionaries were sent home. Two beings in bright light. So who is to say that David had not been to the spirit world?
That is interesting. For the most part we are oblivious to the great events going on all around us, just behind the veil. People here can't understand it. Everything is in commotion. The angels are busy preparing for the great winding up scene which is at the door.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.
Greetings to you at the tops of the mountains. This David Patten Kimball was named after Apostle David Patten, who was killed defending his people from the mob at the battle of Crooked River, Missouri in 1838. They are not related, though Heber C. Kimball and David Patten were close friends. David Patten Kimball was born in 1839, the son of Heber and Vilate Kimball. David was one of the rescuers of the Martin handcart company in Wyoming in 1856, and he wrecked his health by carrying the people on his back across the freezing river, one at a time. At the age of 42, he became sick and had this spiritual experience in the desert in Arizona, where he met his deceased parents and was granted two more years to live. He set his affairs in order and passed away at the age of 44 in St. David Arizona, named after apostle David Patten who died in 1838.

Yes, we do need good stories to counteract the popular culture which is destroying all of us. The good news is there are plenty of good stories out there as food to fill our souls. There is the old saying that we are what we eat, and that goes for our souls too.
Sure is an interesting story. Such a miserable time in the desert. I think I would want to end it too. I can't even imagine those cactus poking him all over. And even 40 miles on that bumping buck board in the desert heat sounds miserable on a good day.
I believe you. Think not that small things such as your experience do not matter. As the Scriptures say, a great ship is benefited much by a small helm in time of a storm. Sometimes, big things come of it. I might also add that David Patten Kimball's spiritual experience here, started a chain of interesting events. Heber C. Kimball told his son that in addition to giving him four names who would pass away, that his family would also be brought together from their scattered condition. Within a few years after this the family held a reunion which started the Kimball Family Association. Thanks to an exhaustive genealogical research performed on the Kimball family over the whole nation, they baptized over ten thousand names in the newly completed Salt Lake Temple. To my knowledge, this extensive effort was a major influence on starting the current genoalogical department in the Church.

Christ did not go to Heaven the day he died, but after His resurrection, as He testified to Mary, "I have not yet ascended to my Father." Millions of people around the world have personal testimonies from God’s spirit that it did happen. And it changes EVERYTHING to know the true nature of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. To know God still speaks to man regarding His great work on earth, especially during these last days, and that God speaks our names. You don’t have to believe it. But those of us who do find amazing joy in it. ❤️☀️
A few things in this story just don’t add up. Assuming he held the Melchizedek Priesthood, why didn’t he just rebuke the evil spirits & tell them to depart. Also he mentions evil people that had lived previously that were tormenting him. That just can’t be the case. If they lived before on this earth & after dying, being constrained in Spirit Prison, they would not be able to harass living people. He must have been confused as to their status. More likely they were Satans Minions.
A few years ago, I watched a youtube video from a man who claimed he died once and was shown the spirits that live on this earth. He was not a Mormon, but it was fascinating to me what he said. Now I am just citing this from memory so i may have some of the facts I remember wrong. He saw the earth was filled with evil spirits who were under the command of Satan. He saw a man and a woman who were flirting with each other, and he saw a hideous looking spirit sitting next to them which they could not see. When they were about to commit adultery he saw this hideous looking spirit enter into the man to partake of what they were experiencing. And that makes a lot of sense to me, because it has long been said that when we give into temptation to commit sin, we invite evil spirits into us to inhabit us. And if we give ourselves up wholly to our sins, we become possessed by those spirits. On the other hand when we forsake all sin and we cleanse our bodies through baptism for the remission of sin, then we become clean enough to invite the Holy Ghost to dwell within us. Our bodies are tabernacles for spirits both good and bad. If we don't allow one kind in, we will surely allow the other in. Back to this man who died. He saw that Satan had powerful princes under him who ruled different areas of the earth. This man was told by his spirit guide with him that one of these princes, the prince of Persia was mentioned in the Bible. In Daniel chapter 10, Daniel was cast into prison and he prayed to the Lord. He eventually received a heavenly messenger who told him that he fought with the Prince of Persia twenty one days before he could visit him, and he had to call on Michael the Archangel to help him. This man who died said he saw this Prince of Persia who was a powerful looking demon. Paul says our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against powers, principalities and dominions. My question to you would be this: If an angel from heaven himself took three weeks to fight his way in to see Daniel, just how powerful are these forces of darkness? These fallen angels once fought a war in heaven in an attempt to overthrow the Lord Himself. Another time in Acts 19, some men tried to cast out a demon who responded, Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? Then he lept on the men and thrashed them. When the Apostles in England tried to cast out devils, Heber C. Kimball was knocked to the floor senseless for a time, and the legions came though the walls and contended with Orson Hyde and Williard Richards for over an hour before they left.
Don't assume spirit prison is a place where you're locked behind bars. It's a prison of the mind and spirit, confusion, not knowing what to do, not sure what to think etc.

There is no confusion in Spirit Prison, these Spirits are there & they know exactly why they are there & why they are constrained from leaving or harassing anyone. They are not doped up, sitting in utter confusion, allowed to roam the earth, harassing souls on the earth. They are there to be taught, to learn, & to improve. But also to suffer for the sins that they have committed. No Spirit crosses the Veil without the direct authority of our Father in Heaven through Jesus Christ, & there must be a spiritual purpose in it. You can’t be any further from the truth.
It is not fiction. David Patten Kimball really did catch a fever and become delirious and become lost in desert for five days without water. Search parties really did track him down until they found him. David really did live two years longer as he said he would. Those other four people really did pass away on the dates mentioned. Those are the facts. It is up to each of us whether or not we believe the rest of what he said.

I got to say, some dude dying from illness and exposure and already living in an armpit place of the world with other people who were more religious fanatics than him (most who didn't believe him)....yeah...that sounds like a solid use of any devil or demon's time.

@Owl_Lover I've seen them several times in dreams & once right in front of my face in the middle of the night. I was on my mission in Bolivia (2001). It held me bound!!! I couldn't move or speak to cast it out. It was terrifing! I'll never forget it. Although I don't speak of it much because people don't believe me. Also, I don't like to bring in darkness.

I know several Laytons. You are the third Layton I have been in contact with in the last few months. I think something is telling me to read his biography.
I was only about two weeks ago, I had a 30 minutes discussion with one of them. I asked him if he had the Biography of Christopher Layton, as I have an electronic copy of it. He said he had the book.
He was telling me about his experience in the Mormon Battalion, and he made a lot of money selling to the prospectors in California, which he used all of it to finance a whole bunch of people to emigrate to Utah.
To this day, many of the long time residents of Arizona speak fondly of his memory.

I met a missionary who went into the mountains on his mission with the Branch President and his comp and they met two beings who told them all about the Church and what was to happen. When they got down the mountain the mission president was waiting for them and when they all told him what they saw, they were told to never mention it or they would be excommunicated. A few months later, one of them was with a few Church members in a stake center and the two beings appeared again. It caused such a commotion in the ward, stake and mission that two of the missionaries were sent home. Two beings in bright light. So who is to say that David had not been to the spirit world?
That is interesting. For the most part we are oblivious to the great events going on all around us, just behind the veil. People here can't understand it. Everything is in commotion. The angels are busy preparing for the great winding up scene which is at the door.
I guess with something like that it’s important to keep it to yourself bc it is specifically meant for you and whoever else experienced it too.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. Greetings to you at the tops of the mountains. This David Patten Kimball was named after Apostle David Patten, who was killed defending his people from the mob at the battle of Crooked River, Missouri in 1838. They are not related, though Heber C. Kimball and David Patten were close friends.
David Patten Kimball was born in 1839, the son of Heber and Vilate Kimball. David was one of the rescuers of the Martin handcart company in Wyoming in 1856, and he wrecked his health by carrying the people on his back across the freezing river, one at a time.
At the age of 42, he became sick and had this spiritual experience in the desert in Arizona, where he met his deceased parents and was granted two more years to live. He set his affairs in order and passed away at the age of 44 in St. David Arizona, named after apostle David Patten who died in 1838.
This is a great story. We need nore of that in our time. I noticed some interesting videos on your blog. I am going to watch them all. Thanks very much.
Yes, we do need good stories to counteract the popular culture which is destroying all of us. The good news is there are plenty of good stories out there as food to fill our souls. There is the old saying that we are what we eat, and that goes for our souls too.

Sure is an interesting story. Such a miserable time in the desert. I think I would want to end it too. I can't even imagine those cactus poking him all over.
And even 40 miles on that bumping buck board in the desert heat sounds miserable on a good day.
I have a testimony of such things, believing this narrative to be true. I have had a very similar experience though not as grand but grand to me.
I believe you. Think not that small things such as your experience do not matter. As the Scriptures say, a great ship is benefited much by a small helm in time of a storm. Sometimes, big things come of it.
I might also add that David Patten Kimball's spiritual experience here, started a chain of interesting events. Heber C. Kimball told his son that in addition to giving him four names who would pass away, that his family would also be brought together from their scattered condition.
Within a few years after this the family held a reunion which started the Kimball Family Association. Thanks to an exhaustive genealogical research performed on the Kimball family over the whole nation, they baptized over ten thousand names in the newly completed Salt Lake Temple. To my knowledge, this extensive effort was a major influence on starting the current genoalogical department in the Church.

It's actually peppercorns. It was used for colds and coughs/sore throat back then.

He drinks pepper tea and ginger tea both anti inflammatory, immune boosting remedies. It’s black pepper or peppercorn. Neither is against the Word of Wisdom.

If there is another version of this story out there I would like to find out about it. This was taken from the book Life of "David Patten Kimball." It is not a large book and was at one time featured as an appendix of early prints of the book "Life of Heber C. Kimball" by Orson F. Whitney.

Christ did not go to Heaven the day he died, but after His resurrection, as He testified to Mary, "I have not yet ascended to my Father." And as Peter testified, in the time between the Crucifixion and the Resurrection, Christ went and preached to the spirits of the dead.

And it changes EVERYTHING to know the true nature of God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. To know God still speaks to man regarding His great work on earth, especially during these last days, and that God speaks our names.

A few things in this story just don’t add up. Assuming he held the Melchizedek Priesthood, why didn’t he just rebuke the evil spirits & tell them to depart. Also he mentions evil people that had lived previously that were tormenting him. That just can’t be the case. If they lived before on this earth & after dying, being constrained in Spirit Prison, they would not be able to harass living people. He must have been confused as to their status. More likely they were Satans Minions.
A few years ago, I watched a youtube video from a man who claimed he died once and was shown the spirits that live on this earth. He was not a Mormon, but it was fascinating to me what he said. Now I am just citing this from memory so i may have some of the facts I remember wrong.
He saw the earth was filled with evil spirits who were under the command of Satan. He saw a man and a woman who were flirting with each other, and he saw a hideous looking spirit sitting next to them which they could not see. When they were about to commit adultery he saw this hideous looking spirit enter into the man to partake of what they were experiencing. And that makes a lot of sense to me, because it has long been said that when we give into temptation to commit sin, we invite evil spirits into us to inhabit us. And if we give ourselves up wholly to our sins, we become possessed by those spirits.
On the other hand when we forsake all sin and we cleanse our bodies through baptism for the remission of sin, then we become clean enough to invite the Holy Ghost to dwell within us. Our bodies are tabernacles for spirits both good and bad. If we don't allow one kind in, we will surely allow the other in.
Back to this man who died. He saw that Satan had powerful princes under him who ruled different areas of the earth. This man was told by his spirit guide with him that one of these princes, the prince of Persia was mentioned in the Bible. In Daniel chapter 10, Daniel was cast into prison and he prayed to the Lord. He eventually received a heavenly messenger who told him that he fought with the Prince of Persia twenty one days before he could visit him, and he had to call on Michael the Archangel to help him.
This man who died said he saw this Prince of Persia who was a powerful looking demon.
Paul says our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against powers, principalities and dominions.
My question to you would be this: If an angel from heaven himself took three weeks to fight his way in to see Daniel, just how powerful are these forces of darkness? These fallen angels once fought a war in heaven in an attempt to overthrow the Lord Himself.
Another time in Acts 19, some men tried to cast out a demon who responded, Jesus I know and Paul I know, but who are you? Then he lept on the men and thrashed them.
When the Apostles in England tried to cast out devils, Heber C. Kimball was knocked to the floor senseless for a time, and the legions came though the walls and contended with Orson Hyde and Williard Richards for over an hour before they left.
Don't assume spirit prison is a place where you're locked behind bars. It's a prison of the mind and spirit, confusion, not knowing what to do, not sure what to think etc.

There is no confusion in Spirit Prison, these Spirits are there & they know exactly why they are there & why they are constrained from leaving or harassing anyone. They are not doped up, sitting in utter confusion, allowed to roam the earth, harassing souls on the earth. They are there to be taught, to learn, & to improve. But also to suffer for the sins that they have committed. No Spirit crosses the Veil without the direct authority of our Father in Heaven through Jesus Christ, & there must be a spiritual purpose in it. You can’t be any further from the truth.

It is not fiction. David Patten Kimball really did catch a fever and become delirious and become lost in desert for five days without water. Search parties really did track him down until they found him. David really did live two years longer as he said he would. Those other four people really did pass away on the dates mentioned.
Those are the facts. It is up to each of us whether or not we believe the rest of what he said.

Are you claiming it was something evil? I got to say, some dude dying from illness and exposure and already living in an armpit place of the world with other people who were more religious fanatics than him (most who didn't believe him)....yeah...that sounds like a solid use of any devil or demon's time.
