From our ‘Ohana to yours, HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone. Aloha.
What size are those hubs??? Can you send a link on where on Amazon you purchased
Anti sieze will help for future removal,
@@brandovillasenor8049 talking to a noob - apologies - mind sharing a link that would fit his wheels / tires size? Thanks for your help!
Happy Thanksgiving Bra! - Kiwi who used to live in HI / TX and Now Minnesota !! Much Aloha to you and the Fams!! Kia Kaha and go the All BlackS!!! -- Just have got onto your vids after looking to get a Silverado Trail Boss !!- Keep up the good work -Mahalo
Are they 78.1 - 106
Love seeing your “helpers” getting involved. Some of my fondest memories as a child were “helping” my dad doing various things around the house. Great job dad.
Mahalo! I lived in Hawaii (Oahu and Maui) as a kid through 4th grade and relocated to Oklahoma. Miss those manapuas the most! Just bought a silver 2017 Silverado LT 2WD and looking to do a level and put 33s on it. Love these rides!
Just wanted to say I love the channel. Enjoy watching your videos because I'm trying to do a lot of the same to my new to me 19 LTZ 6.2. I enjoy your honest approach and that you do all the work yourself like a lot of us.
Olights are such good flashlights. They’re sturdy, last a long time and the magnetic backs allow u to place them anywhere when your working on your vehicle.
On the inside of your hubcentric ring very light coat of anti-sieze, this prevents siezing to hub. Same to rim . Very lite coat.
One reason I go to discount tire back when I had my 2012 Silverado I bought aftermarket wheels with the Nitto Terra- Grappler and one of the techs noticed I didn't have that hub bushing or whatever you want to call it, anyway he ordered them for me and installed them all free of charge
I have a 2020 trail boss and have been on the fence between a leveling kit or a full suspension lift. Your videos have shown me I can achieve the look I want without having to jack it way up in the air. Thank you for your help
Glad the videos help! Thanks for watching. Aloha
I am grateful this thanksgiving for the two uploads within 3 days
Also, food for thought, with those wheels if you have any clips from the factory holding on the brake rotors then the wheels will not sit flush like the OEM, those clips have to come off first.
You should paint the tow hooks to match the blue on the tires. 👍
My 2016 F150 has aluminum rims. After 8 months i could not get the wheels off the hubs. I loosened the lug nuts and drive around the block. Solid. I ended up using a 12 lb mall and swung it across the floor to the back side of the tire to bust it loose.
Before reassembling, I added a nice coat of antiseize to the hubs and inner race.
This is exactly how I envision my future channel to be. Learn from my mistakes! Awesome vid!
Came into the same problem but used the plastic ones. No problem what so ever. And I drive my Sierra nation wide 🤘🏻
Great information . Your new camera man has really grown since I first started watching you in Hawaii keep up the good work. 👍👍👍🙂😎
I was not expecting another video today. Have a happy Thanksgiving brother
LSH,you can help your power loss by going down to 33x12.50's. This is only half inch bottom x top. I started doing this year's ago cause I got sick of buying ring and pinion sets and also setting them up correctly.Would not do salvage yard swaps on new trucks, nah. This size is easier to spin and next to impossible to spot as you drive by. I've done so many truck mods over the years from frame up to none . Your stock tires were 32's. I have same truck in every way except year 2021. With Pulsar LT and factory GM high performance intake system, truck runs 131mph.Have fun and live.
I had the same issue on my ram 1500 and the shop where I got the lift done did the same thing on all my wheels and fixed that "high speed" vibration on the highway.
I got the 4inch SST on my 3.0 diesel LT Silverado and 35s. I still average an awesome 19 average and 22-24 highway.
I have the same husky toolbox but mine came with a full size locker as well.. it's totally worth having. you should look into seeing if you can add it.
That's a good point, and it's often overlooked. The purpose of the hub is to not only center the wheel, but to bear the weight. Without the spacers the lug nut studs are now bearing all of the weight, which puts the studs in a sheer rather than a stretch. Just driving around using the truck as a car this is probably fine, but if you're loaded up to max payload or pulling a heavy trailer then this becomes a very dangerous situation, the studs could sheer, the wheel comes off and you have a bad time. 👎 also, put some anti sieze on the rings to keep them from siezing to the hub.
Appreciate the anti seize tip!
The hub does not support the weight of the vehicle it does help to centre it but the weight is supported by the friction between wheel and mounting surface.
Not true at all so please stop spreading this lie.. some cars have no hubcentric at all. Bcuz absolutely 0 weight is on the studs or centering rings. think about it, the clamping force between the rotor hub and wheel is what holds it. The cone of the lugnut is seated to the wheel, which applies clamping pressure.. the threaded studs themselfs do not come in contact with the wheel. Thats why trucks got more studs for more clampimg force. It doesnt ride on the centering ring or lug nuts. The lip of the hub is sometimes used to help center the wheel but again sometimes theres no hub-centric system at all referred to as lug centric bcuz all you have to center is is the lugs. You can easily center a wheel missing its hubcentric with just the lugnuts perfectly everytime just make sure the lug nuts go on star pattern and dont bind up. but hub centric is used to make it easy for any soccer mom to slap on a wheel on side of road and get a perfect fit and not have to carefully install the wheel. Just takes a extra few seconds. But they arent load bearing at all not called hub-supported or lug-supported. Its just for centrics
wrong, the hub doesn't support any weight
@dnalor the hub supports all of the weight on that corner of the vehicle. Without the wheel fitting securely to the hub, now the lug nut studs support the weight. These studs aren't designed to support weight in sheer, and they can sheer off, if that happens, you lose a wheel, have an accident, and possibly kill someone.
I don’t know if you know this or not, but those hub centric rings also work really good when mounting a full size spare under the rear. My 2017 Silverado had XD Hoss 2 wheels on 35x12.5R20 tires. I replaced the factory spare tire with a full size spare. The 35 fit under the truck perfectly with about an inch all around. The only thing I needed was a hub centric ring for the XD Hoss 2 to fill the gap for the end of the spare tire hoist.
You just solved my problem!!
Watching these videos have inspired me
Aloha and mahalo Hawaiian awesome video my braddah. Btw happy Thanksgiving and be bless🤙🏽🙏🏽
I believe I have this EXACT problem on my 09 Silverado. I have gotten a terrible bounce/shake from the front end that I never had before after lifting and upgrading wheels/tires. All the shops around me have rebalanced the tires and road tested the truck and just chalked it up to being lifted... I half-heartedly accepted that it was just the rough country kit.. now I'm going to have to buy some of these and see if it fixes my highway shakes. You may have just solved my problem! 😄
Edit: 78.1mm to 108mm ordered 😃
Hopefully this does the trick!
I am actually having this problem on my 2011 Silverado I bought after market rockstars and I thought my hub went out thank you for putting this out there
How are you liking the stillen part for your intake?? Feeling or noticing any difference?
I lightly lubricants my aluminum hub with Anti-Seize so it doesn’t stick, Works like a charm.
Perfect timing! Just received my Ready Lift leveling kit this week and am waiting for my new aftermarket wheels and tires for my 2020 Trail Boss. I looked up the specs for my new wheels and ordered the hub centric rings from amazon. Love your channel…learned a ton! Aloha from Montana!
Have you thought about re gearing the truck front and rear since you put the 35s to help with better torque multiplication off the line and passing power? On my 2000 Silverado Z71 originally had 3.73s but was ok not great but ok on 33s.. as soon as I went 35s it felt super slow and like total dog 💩… I re geared front and rear to 4.56 and that helped it on take off, off the line and passing power and towing and MPG… still gets 11-12mpg around town but on a road trip on the highway averages 18mpg. Before with stock 3.73 and 35s it was doing like 7mpg around town and 13mpg at best highway… for a lack of better words, the 4.56 helped “trick” the truck into thinking it’s running stock even though it’s on 35s
I think it's to make them universal with Toyota, they have a bigger hub. Wheel companies usually send them with the wheels.
Hello! Love the video and explanation. Great point about the hub centrics. Hoping you could answer if you think the stock 20x9 would work in the same situation - possibly with the 11.5" 35 vs the 12.5? I have an LT non-z71, non-TB. The lift I'm considering is the GM OEM accessory lift, plus a roughly 1.5" leveling setup meant for the z71/tb. I do have some specific reasons for going this way - one is leaning towards OEM and the other is the height without cutting. Don't want to go aftermarket as garages here aren't crew-cab truck size and aftermkt wheels will disappear one evening parked on the street.
Better then my MPG lol. I have a 5.7 Hemi and with 35” I get 13.8 average. I also don’t really go light on the gas pedal lol love hearing the hemi
I just have some rims and tires and start on my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado LTZZ71 and the guys didn't put those rings on in my truck vibrate and vibrate vibrate and they just now figured out the problem without the problem I'll be getting my hub centric rings installed next week
Wow. All my experience, this is new to me. The three shop(s) have never even mentioned these.
Just picked up a 2023 Silverado RST Redline 6.2 in all black. Just can't decide between 4play 4P63, 4P08, 4p83, or Fuel Rebel all in black 22x12 with 35x12.5 Nitto Trail Grappler and a 6" lift.
Nice truck. Boeing uses many plastic parts to replace aluminum on their fuselages and wings so plastics can be just as strong as aluminum
Cool looking wheels and thanks for the tips from aftermarket wheels !!! Mahalooo
🤙🏽🤙🏽
Ugh...if only I had remembered this video last week! I bought new wheels and ran into the same problem as you...slight vibration. I ended up going with plastic rings...but thinking of changing to aluminum as I noticed a small amount of play with the plastic rings and still just a very slight vibration.
I have a 2020 Silverado. Added 6 inch RC lift and 35x12.5r20s and using the stock z71 rims. Needed a 2 inch wheel spacer but its not hub centric. Could that be why I'm getting some minor vibrations at 60-70 smiles per hour? The shop that put my tires on are saying its likely the tires causing it although they said everything balanced out
You do realize that they have been doing the bigger wheel centers for years, decades. That is why you are supposed to slowly tourqe down and do a cross pattern. And as for the mpg I get 7mpg in my 97 k3500 cclb on 35s.
You have the best helper’s in the world lol. That’s great 😃
I have a 2012 siverado 1500 with factory wheels. I don't want to change the wheels out, just the center caps. Any suggestions please?
Love the stance of your truck.
Is this why custom offsets and other wheel/tire shops are saying they recommended at least a .75” wheel spacer with all aftermarket rims on the trailboss? Thanks for the demo on the hub centric ring! 🤙🏽
@lonestar Hawaiian; what do you recommend for tires rubbing fenders after installing a lift? Wheel spacers? Cutting out the carpet-like material in the fenders? Mine rub so bad. I had a 3.5” lift. Cheers from Keller, TX
Did you add spacers as well ? Just wondering installing new wheels and wondering if I can put my 1/4 spacer and the hubcentric rings on new wheels ?
You should install the high country cluster in your trail boss. All digital.
Just put some anti seize on the steel where the aluminum touches or pentitrox there’s lots of compounds for dissimilar metals out there
Have you calibrated your speedometer yet? If so, what did you do?
Did not having the hub centric ring on do any permanent damage? I did the same thing recently and would like to know if I need to fix something
Your truck looks fire bro and have a happy Thanksgiving
What size centric ring did you have to get. I put some on mine but when I go over a bump I can hear them rattling, I don’t think I got the right size. I have a 2011 Silverado with 33X12.50X22 with Hostile rims.
Great looking truck. I would try running a few tanks of 89 through the truck. My 5.3 was getting around 13.8mpg and when I switched to 89 it boosted that up to 15.4mpg. Not a big gain but every little bit helps. Happy Thanksgiving!
Yessaahh Hayn, Aloha and that is one sick rig
Great video,Love your Truck! I’m really wanting one!
Me running spacers with two studs missing on one hub😂💀
How are the wheel hubs holding up after installing the lift kit and aftermarket wheels and Centric rings?
Have you had any issues with any of the hub bearings?
If I run the same rims on my 21 trail boss do I use the same Hub centric ring 78.1 to 106 or do need to measure the rims when I get them.
That’s absolutely funny I’ve got the same husky box but mine is red….and my granddad gave it to my dad who gave it to me but it’s a craftsman box not identical but pretty much the same size and style 😂
Still has a lot of paw paws wooden handled stuff. Nvr getting rid of it
Great video. Just put new wheels on my raptor build. Went from stocks to aftermarket and I’ve got a lil bit of vibration. Gunna have to sort that out now Thx bro!
@LONESTAR HAWWAIIAN
I bought the trail boss custom and I’m wondering if you know if the headlights that you have for your LT would fit with the grill the custom has I know they fit on the truck I have but I wanna keep my grill
Hey! Im going to order these rims for my trailboss but dont have the caliper to take the mesuerments for what rings to get. What are the ones you bought for these rims?
Do you need these hub rings still if you have to run hub centric spacers??
@LonestarHawaiian please, please help! The wheels you put on with the spacer. Was the wheel bore 106mm or 106.25mm. The method wheels I want to use say 106.25. Im assuming it cannot be exactly 106 otherwise it would not fit right?
What size spacer are you running? Currently trying to figure out what I want on my truck without overloading the suspension
Have you seen any significant rock damage on the rocker panels from having the tires outside of the fenders?
That was educational I wouldn't have known
What if I have a spacers? I just buy 4 centric rings and when I took the wheel off the truck, I saw the spacer so my cuestión is , should I put the ring on the spacer or on the wheel ?
Yo that my boy Bryan!! His truck looks nice with the new wheels
🤙🏽🤙🏽
Lol I about always use a headlamp getting older can’t see lol. These are great lights
What if I have a spacers? I just buy 4 centric rings and when I took the wheel off the truck, I saw the spacer so my cuestión is , should I put the ring on the spacer or on the wheel
What about the load is it going to be on the nails or with the rings is going to handle it?
Love these videos, just found your channel! #bam (Can't stop watching) I just ordered the RST 1500 Silverado Diesel 3.0 2024 there is a strike going on now but sounds like mine is built will be here in a few weeks.
How fast were you traveling when you noticed the vibration?
looking at that same tire wheel combo..what size rings did you get and can you post the link?
When you swapped wheels and tires did you get new tpms sensors?
The wheel tells you its hub size....and you can get your stock and just subtract. Internet is a beast.
you put out some informative videos!!!!!!! thank you
Lol, u know I almost made that mistake, so I called the place where I bought the tires n rims n said I never received any hub centric rings, the guy was like u don’t need them because I have conical nuts, acorn style if u will. I said well jus for piece of mind I’ll get a set anyways. Glad I did. Love ur channel keep it up
I got a question for you are your truck's ceramic coated or what kind of wax are you using
Sst kit , do you have a problem on 4×4 driving?
I’m thinking about getting the trail boss wheels on my 2008 Silverado since the stock wheels are rotting
What size hub did you buy? Can you share a link please?
I have a question, maybe you can help me. I have a 2021 ram 1500 big horn 4x4. I interested in 4 play wheels 24x12 -44 offser, wrapped in 33x12.50Rx24LT KENDRA TIRES. Can I just do a 2" leveling kit in the front with minor trimming, or do I need to do 3.5" raise front and back? Please let me know, i would really appreciate it if you could help me out with this. Thank you so much. Ralph
Do your tow hooks in the same blue as your wheels
Where did you get the decals for your wheels? How have they held up? Thanks, love the channel
Yours looks like it has an o-ring groove on the ring itself. Some are press fit or o-ring tension. Never seen loose floaters like that.
Put antiseize between the spacer and the rotor and the spacer will come off easy the next time you want to remove it.
Came here to type this very same thing. Anti-seize will help greatly in the prevention of galvanic corrosion.
Very educational. Thank you 👍
Is it possible to send a link for ur centric hub spacers gonna but put the same rims on my truck ?
What aize rings you get from Amazon? Looking to get the same wheels
What tipe of cordless inpact are you using?
Where did you purchase your Hub centric Rings .Looking for a set For my GMC Canyon
Woah, another video already !? Someone must have some extra time off from work. Appreciate the content Brotha !
Took a week for vacation! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks for responding ! Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family.
I really do not understand why anyone would thumbs down your videos!!
Can’t please everyone I guess 🤷♂️. Thanks for watching!
They probably wanted video of the Camaro in action!😎
What’s the plans for the old Camaro wheels? Will you sale them
Did the spacers take the vibration away ?
Thanks for the info 👍
At what speed did ur truck feel it was vibrating?
Not sure if you added this into your mileage calculation, but your tires are now larger meaning you cover more distance with each rotation. You can add the percentage difference to your mileage.
Tries/odometer are recalibrated to the 35s
