- How I Create Ed Sheeran Loops With The Boss Rc-505mk2. I go back and forth between the rc-505 and the rc-600. I find the 600 a little more conducive for live gigs while playing instruments. Any thoughts on my FS-6 technique?

@@EmilyMcVicker Ha, well, I just listened to the original song to see if I was speaking out of my butt, which is always a possibility with me 😅 I play it on guitar, and when I’m not using a looper, I just use a basic Bm-Em-G-A progression (transposed to the original key with a capo) while singing on top. I haven’t looked at your hands to see exactly what you’re playing, but your chords have a bit more sophisticated spice to them vs. the way I play it.
As for re-harmonizing, the original song doesn’t actually have any real chords in the verses, it just keeps repeating that marimba-ish-sounding riff, so I guess it’s a matter of opinion :)
PS You’re a *far* better musician than I, and I have no business giving you any suggestions, but if you’re open to it: that marimba-ish opening/verse riff gets its unique sound because each hit is a dyad. To me, the specific pair of notes played with each hit is what makes the riff *so* catchy and infectious. If you were playing it in the key of Bm, the dyads are:
B over F#; D over F#; B over F#
B over G; D over G; B over G
B over G; D over G; B over G
C# over A; B over A; A over E
(Transpose that to whichever key you like!)
Please know I’m not critiquing your performance, it was awesome!!! Just thought you might like to give it a try with those dyads in the hook riff and see how you like it. :)

It's really cool and inspiring seeing Ed Sheeran perform mostly solo concerts selling out stadiums. Proving anything is possible. Talent Is talent and that having a band is not the end all be all to play at bigger and better places entertaining large crowds.
By the way I really love your looping skills and beautiful voice! Last video I saw of you was the Makie Showbox and really loved your rendition of Zombie. Keep it up🎵
Aww wow thanks friend! I agree. Having a solid solo show has been key for me to make it work with music. Which makes me a little sad tho because playing with other folks is so lovely when I get to do it. But not all budgets can support a full band. The looping has worked well for me 👍

All the lengths are set to Free. Been practicing with this pedal lately just to see if I can play the instruments at the same time.

I have been trying to practice my 505 technique lately. Folks have been asking for more 505 videos. But the 600 is definitely my go to 👍 when you’re playing guitar at the same time, it’s hard to need hands for stuff. The 505 has some neat features that are more accessible w hands. But I am feeling comfortable on both these days
Wow! I was seriously impressed with the video of this song that Headrush just released of Sheeran playing it on a looper. I didn't know he was a loop artist. I just knew the songs that clients have requested, which are all great. His performance was great (aside from the out of tune guitar, why did they keep that take?!?) But this arrangement is even better. The groove is so good... and you just laid down the parts one after another with no down time. So many questions, but mostly wanna know was that D# on top on purpose? Caught me by surprise and I loved it, but seemed like maybe a happy accident :)

I think you would get bored with the Sheeran Looper.😂 You have invested so much into the Boss Loopers and if you get the Sheeran you will have to adopt his workflow also its stupid expensive for what you get. Much love from Australia 💕

Considering you are a God-Looper and you know the Boss loopers well, I would love to see how you convert to using the X-looper. It appears like the x-looper is going to be the new "go-to" looper. So yes! Please get the x-looper. (I want one too.)
Yes. It sounds like a challenge for your patrons. Get the X. The plus would be an exercise in minimalism for you.
The workflow is extremely limited on the EdRush. You're amazing at arranging, so you'd know better than anyone else whether you can make that workflow fit all of your arrangements. What does it offer that you don't already have?
What is the name of the arm your mic is on? Mine is on a stand and it is uncomfortable when using. I would love something that clamps to the desk. I have a sure super 55. What can I say, but Girl, you are amazing! Your version actually sounds cleaner than Ed Sheeran because he has a lot of stuff going on in the background. I’d love to know your thoughts on software driven loopers on IOS. There is one called Quantiloop and it is as powerful as some of the Boss loopers. Great job with what you did with Ed’s song. ❤

Hey! Great request! I did one of my early breakdown videos with this song. I did it on the RC 600, which is the floor Looper. But the machines are essentially the same except for that. Have you seen that one?

To be honest, I like your version more then the original. But this is also probably because of Ed. I stopped listening to his songs since I joined his concert last year. I have never been a big fan of Ed but since this time I stopped listening him at all. It was the worst concert I've ever seen. After the last song he simply left the stage without an encore, without saying goodbye. I found that very unfriendly and without appreciacion towards his fans.
