Try reading the manual. For stuff like this that's usually the best way to decide if it does what you want/need and see how things work. I have this one and I don't think it's too complicated once you understand what the lights are telling you.

I'm pretty sure You don't mind about that anymore BUT There are at least two reasons to make loop and beat work out of sync: 1) Just to choose between drum patterns to check if any of those fits with some idea You already have in mind and You are gonna play along without recording it 2) to record a tune without drums, i.e. a soundscape played with a very present delay :-)

Is it possible to put a complete song of about 4 minutes inside it to use during the Show?

Do you know if you can erase a loop without it being audible? Example: you record a loop live but make a mistake and want to try again but dont want audience to hear it being played back for few seconds while it erases

im told its massive problem is you have to set the tempo,,earlyer models the drums came in into the tempo you played in,,thats not a good thing ...see he has to have the drums going 1st,,unlike other machines
A lot of people complain about the rythm function without reading the manual. The drum can be set to trigger in a variety of ways. you cheated! You didn't change patterns to pattern 2 on the fly. so it was a 1 part song. And changing patterns is the hardest thing to master on these units.
Fat feet Trey#Gear Gods, can you increase the quality of the recorded loop on this thing? Cause the actual recordings sound like it's recorded on a shitty Boss pedal instead of a pedal that's good... Like a Strymon or something. So can you make the actual recording sound better like say record the loop at 48 instead of 44.1 or even 96? Wondering as my singer just split to AZ without telling anyone and where recording our album right now(I'm in Chicago) so now I gotta sing and lay bass, but I'm actually great at bass (think Flea meets Tm Commerford) but suck at singing so doing both is not gonna happen live, hence a looper pedal. Just use that when I'm gonna be belting out huge funky timed screams. Only problem is... if the recordings sound like shit well that ain't gonna work cause Im a Gearslut and my cab costs more than your guitar so bad time is a no no! Thanks for the vid, it was kinda funny... Not really! Ps. I hate feet! Pss... Get a new interface with at least 12 channels so you can record drums and scratch tracks at the same time! Or at least 4 tracks like UAD x4 so you can record stereo, think of the possibilities! I'm sure Glen can show you how, if not come out to Chicago and I will! And if UAD is too much(thats a shit ton for 4 channels, I was thinking it was 600$, $1700 is fucking crazy!) My delay has a built in loop function. It isn’t the best but I only use it as a tool to test out ideas in my room so it works.

You could theoretically connect any two instruments that use .25" cables. I use a shitty electric violin sometimes.

J. Mascis uses them. I saw him live a few years ago solo and he used a looper, no backing tracks and no other instruments. It was pretty impressive.

Nah, there is nothing special in using synths. Making a song out of using the looper only, that's what requires skills.
