Have you had any issues with the lower bushing on the strut? I was told spinning that bushing might give you issues in the future. I’m just wondering if you’ve had issues cause I just installed my leveling kit the exact same way as you but right now it’s all good.
There's nothing in this video i would need a spring compressor for. The top hat simply goes on top of the already loaded strut. With a pry bar and removing the shock stud, it goes in very easy.
@TuneNgoon I was just thinking about removing and installing the strut, and not having to fight getting it out and back in, or remove the lower bolts on the strut.
@@ItsMeJbird you could... but you would need to compress the gas charged strut even with the spring compressed. Either option could work. Most spring compressors are cheaply made and sketchy to use. I prefer this method!
@@TuneNgoonWith the spring compressed a bit, wouldn't you be able to get a pry bar under the end of the strut in the LCA and compress it easily with a bar?
Hey! Could you have gotten 3” in there? I’m thinking of putting in the Rough Country 3” loaded Strut assembly in a truck exactly like this one. By the way you just made a lot of other guys who disassembled brakes, axles, lower control arms etc. look pretty silly! 😂
Honestly 3inch is gonna be pretty tough! It’s doable, but it won’t be easy lol. That’s also gonna be hard on 4wd CV axles especially on hard turns while in 4wd. Thanks man hopefully it helped
Since you didn't remove the control arm, did you need any camber adjustment? I would assume only toe in needed to be changed because camber adjustment is on the lower control arm.
@ that’s good info, thank you. I have my alignment sheet. Can’t find it at the moment. I can confirm truck rides great on and off road. I’ve had 0 issues so far! Couldn’t be happier👍🏻
I have a 2022 F150, I wanna add a 2” leveling kit. When you did the front, did you have to remove the 4x4 lines going to the wheel hub? I’d be afraid if I left them attached and it would stretch the lines out or something, so I don’t wanna damage it
@TuneNgoon this only works on the puck style that swaps the studs around though. There are offset style kits that have the new studs directly over the strut studs and don't require swapping or clocking.
4:08 instead of the clocking those studs couldn’t you just swap them out with the other side? Right to left and left to right?
As far as I i know that should work fine. I didint realize it at the time!
Great Video. I installed a leveling kit on a. 2014 recently. Spot on install. Thanks
Thanks man!!! Nice 😁
Thanks for the video. Installing a 3" right now and this is the most helpful video ive come across. Liked and subscribed, keep up the great content.
Thanks man! Glad that helped👍
thank you, watched others doing it the long way looks much easier your way thank you again.
No problem, hopefully it helped! 👍
What specific Fuel wheels are they? Looks great!
Hi Kevin, thanks for the comment these are 18” Fuel coverts with -12mm offset!! Glad you like them I’m a big fan so far!

No issues so far! I have quite some time on this setup now maybe 20k miles
Awesome thanks for the fast reply. We only had to adjust mine a little bit on each side so I didn’t think it would make that big of a difference
@@brook5957 no problem, and that’s great! Hope it all works out well for you.
Did you ever think of a spring compressor?

May just do the 2” then and see how she sits. If it comes out like yours I’ll be happy.

I had it laser aligned toe, castor, camber! I would personally as the toe may change small amount and camber a small amount.
@@TuneNgoonI just installed mine. I gained 2.5 degrees of negative camber and 3/8 of an inch toe in

No I did not, but it is just a line with two holes that slide off, you can remove if need be!
That’s exactly how I do it, a lot easier and much easier for alignment.
I 100% agree!
is this on a 4x4?
Yes
@@TuneNgoon Thanks
Or… hear me out… use a strut compressor on the spring to shorten it?
Ye true, average person won’t have it. Yes u can rent it. Both methods work
@@TuneNgoon valid, I’m doing my neighbors truck. I’ll probably pull the struts and just take em to work and blow out the studs with an air hammer etc
@@roberthatley7415 nice man! I hope it goes well for you! Good luck, cheers 🍻
Hey Sir! We sincerely look for a video collaboration with you! Are you interested in trying our F-150 custom seat covers?
No thank you
🐐
Just drop the
bottom strut studs in first, then the top and you won’t have to pull the bottom studs out.😮
With the angle won’t work like that
@@TuneNgoon I just did a 2017 4x4 yesterday, no problem.
Ok
The way I’ve done it on my 14 was , dropping the lca a couple inches then putting the shock in
You know, you could've just swapped the left strut for the right stut and then you don't have to clock anything.
Unfortunately I did one side a time so I didn’t think that far ahead
Completely understandable. After installing 3 leveling kits on my previous three trucks, I finally realized this myself when doing my fourth.
@@kjw882 love the idea! Smarter not harder👍 hopefully going to coil overs soon

@@kjw882 I’m aware. I was just saying I think I’m looking into possibly lifting it.. idk I’m super indecisive lol 😂
Wheel/tire setup? Any rubbing ?
295/70/18 Toyo open country Rts , with fuel covert 18x9 -12mm offset. Does rub with - offset should not rub on 0 offset
