Fellow glasses wearer here... I highly recommend SportRX the next time you need new glasses. I was constantly told that my prescription could never be put in a pair of Oakley wrap style sunglasses, and they handled it no problems. Not exactly "cheap", but they have a lot to choose from (including Wiley X with a safety lens).
There is no such thing as innocent verdict. The verdict is justifiable homicide. The person is not innocent of shooting someone, to say so is to say they did not shoot. Therefore the verdict is rather you had justifiable cause. If you carry then carry a lawyer....and a TQ. Thanks for the videos Brian, you provide a public service among many other positives.
Well damn, now you've made me consider yet another ankle holster. Never found one that ever felt comfortable, always feel like I might yeet it off, can't stand that constant off balance stride. That you have another on the other ankle with the med kit, makes sense, balances out the stride. Then again, for me, that in the course of my day might be wading knee deep through a swamp sort of makes it moot. And ditto on the Wiley X's and the Keens, 40 years in industrial construction, none better.
You should try Merino wool underwear (mine are from a company called "Unbound Merino"). After I tested those I ordered 20 of them and threw away everything else ! It'll change your life ! ;)
My EDC varies from on duty or off, and context (where Imma be). I always have a cutting tool. light source. phone , handgun (duh), and at least one spare mag. I don't carry an IFAK. Most first aid stuff can be improvised if I can't get back to my truck, which has a very well stocked stop the bleed kit. I have to conceal at work so I rotate through three guns, depending on which uniform pants I'm wearing. Some have bigger cargo pockets than others. The spare mag goes in a small pocket on the 511's. At work, I have two level redundancy on some stuff. A pocket knife, boot knife, shears. Stinger, penlight , phone light . I wear cotton boxer briefs, but am curious about merino wool.
Mine is not an IFAK either, it is a straight up trauma kit dedicated to potentially life saving items. I think it would be very difficult to improvise a tourniquet or trauma bandage on myself one handed or, even worse, to watch a loved one bleed out while I struggled to improvise. I’m not criticizing you, just trying to be real. I firmly believe anyone who carries a gun should carry a tourniquet.
@@SurvivalOnPurpose I think your EDC is very well thought out. I made the choices I did because I am rarely far from advanced capabilities and I have a lot of experience dealing with bleeding. If I was where I'd like to spend a great deal of time (the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness in Montana) , I'd have a lot more ON me. I headed out today to Walmart to get things for supper tonight and food for my two day hitch at work starting tomorrow. There's one grocery store down there, and it's high. I had with me: my Ruger Security Six, one speedloader, 12 rounds in a re-purposed glove pouch, an out-the-front knife, my sheffield pocket knife, and phone. In the truck, I've got the stop the bleed kit, 4 MREs, water, fire extinguisher, change of clothes (ever shart?) TP, my truck pistol(SD40 with a O-light BALDR Pro, shotgun, triangles, lightsticks, Ryobi 18V tire inflator and Ryobi 1/2inch impact. Stinger flashlight 18V Ryobi light. My drive to work includes an about 18 mile stretch in pitch black, through a federal game preserve, right by an alligator farm and all the feral hogs (some as big as calves) you can shake a stick at. My most likely adversary off duty is the four-legged variety if I had to stop and change a tire. I've almost hit a 12 foot alligator across the roadway, almost hit a family of hogs that darted out in pea-soup fog. I've seen one cougar and many coyotes.
I'm very impressed with that med kit. Also, if you think synthetic underwear are nice consider checking out 5.11 Tactical pants such as the Taclite Pro-I'll never go back to denim.
I was wondering if those eyeglasses were new...look good on you. I like the ankle med kit and that's a great idea. I've been a backpacker for over 60 years and I finally found underwear that are incredibly comfortable and even after wearing them multiple days on the trail, they do not emit odors; very comforting to know when in a crowd of other hikers. They are expensive but worth it. I've had four pairs I rotate daily and have had them for five years or so. Multiple washes have not broken down the fabric or the elasticity. Exofficio cost me $25 a pair. Darn Tough socks are amazing for the same reasons. Any tears or breakdown in fabric, Darn Tough will send you a new pair. The merino wool stays warm and even when moist they remain warm. I would love to wear regular shirts like yours but collars irritate my neck; so I wear merino wool tees and long underwear (winter camping). I love these EDC videos and to know what guys carry. My EDC list is very short: wallet, cell phone, CRKT CEO pocket knife with deep carry clip, Bic lighter with the long nozzle, Suunto watch, Tibetan beads bracelet, and 1.75 reading glasses. My sunglasses are Ray Ban. My wedding band is a camo silicone band, size 13. BTW I love the look, Bryan, with the beard and "almost" Fu Manchu" moustache.
