    Fellow glasses wearer here... I highly recommend SportRX the next time you need new glasses. I was constantly told that my prescription could never be put in a pair of Oakley wrap style sunglasses, and they handled it no problems. Not exactly "cheap", but they have a lot to choose from (including Wiley X with a safety lens).

    There is no such thing as innocent verdict. The verdict is justifiable homicide. The person is not innocent of shooting someone, to say so is to say they did not shoot. Therefore the verdict is rather you had justifiable cause. If you carry then carry a lawyer....and a TQ.
    Thanks for the videos Brian, you provide a public service among many other positives.

    Well damn, now you've made me consider yet another ankle holster. Never found one that ever felt comfortable, always feel like I might yeet it off, can't stand that constant off balance stride. That you have another on the other ankle with the med kit, makes sense, balances out the stride.
    Then again, for me, that in the course of my day might be wading knee deep through a swamp sort of makes it moot.
    And ditto on the Wiley X's and the Keens, 40 years in industrial construction, none better.

    My EDC varies from on duty or off, and context (where Imma be). I always have a cutting tool. light source. phone , handgun (duh), and at least one spare mag. I don't carry an IFAK. Most first aid stuff can be improvised if I can't get back to my truck, which has a very well stocked stop the bleed kit. I have to conceal at work so I rotate through three guns, depending on which uniform pants I'm wearing. Some have bigger cargo pockets than others. The spare mag goes in a small pocket on the 511's. At work, I have two level redundancy on some stuff. A pocket knife, boot knife, shears. Stinger, penlight , phone light . I wear cotton boxer briefs, but am curious about merino wool.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  3 года назад +1

      Mine is not an IFAK either, it is a straight up trauma kit dedicated to potentially life saving items. I think it would be very difficult to improvise a tourniquet or trauma bandage on myself one handed or, even worse, to watch a loved one bleed out while I struggled to improvise. I’m not criticizing you, just trying to be real. I firmly believe anyone who carries a gun should carry a tourniquet.

    • @traumajock
      @traumajock 3 года назад

      @@SurvivalOnPurpose I think your EDC is very well thought out. I made the choices I did because I am rarely far from advanced capabilities and I have a lot of experience dealing with bleeding. If I was where I'd like to spend a great deal of time (the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness in Montana) , I'd have a lot more ON me. I headed out today to Walmart to get things for supper tonight and food for my two day hitch at work starting tomorrow. There's one grocery store down there, and it's high. I had with me: my Ruger Security Six, one speedloader, 12 rounds in a re-purposed glove pouch, an out-the-front knife, my sheffield pocket knife, and phone. In the truck, I've got the stop the bleed kit, 4 MREs, water, fire extinguisher, change of clothes (ever shart?) TP, my truck pistol(SD40 with a O-light BALDR Pro, shotgun, triangles, lightsticks, Ryobi 18V tire inflator and Ryobi 1/2inch impact. Stinger flashlight 18V Ryobi light. My drive to work includes an about 18 mile stretch in pitch black, through a federal game preserve, right by an alligator farm and all the feral hogs (some as big as calves) you can shake a stick at. My most likely adversary off duty is the four-legged variety if I had to stop and change a tire. I've almost hit a 12 foot alligator across the roadway, almost hit a family of hogs that darted out in pea-soup fog. I've seen one cougar and many coyotes.

    I was wondering if those eyeglasses were new...look good on you. I like the ankle med kit and that's a great idea. I've been a backpacker for over 60 years and I finally found underwear that are incredibly comfortable and even after wearing them multiple days on the trail, they do not emit odors; very comforting to know when in a crowd of other hikers. They are expensive but worth it. I've had four pairs I rotate daily and have had them for five years or so. Multiple washes have not broken down the fabric or the elasticity. Exofficio cost me $25 a pair. Darn Tough socks are amazing for the same reasons. Any tears or breakdown in fabric, Darn Tough will send you a new pair. The merino wool stays warm and even when moist they remain warm. I would love to wear regular shirts like yours but collars irritate my neck; so I wear merino wool tees and long underwear (winter camping). I love these EDC videos and to know what guys carry. My EDC list is very short: wallet, cell phone, CRKT CEO pocket knife with deep carry clip, Bic lighter with the long nozzle, Suunto watch, Tibetan beads bracelet, and 1.75 reading glasses. My sunglasses are Ray Ban. My wedding band is a camo silicone band, size 13. BTW I love the look, Bryan, with the beard and "almost" Fu Manchu" moustache.

    The ONLY reason (IMO) that an individual stands a better chance in a Court of Law with a PAID Attorney vs a Court appointed one is corruption. There is NO reason why a Court appointed Attorney can't represent just as effective, after all the letter of the law is in fact the letter of the law.

    *_US Law Shield_* is another great legal protection no matter what kind of force you use (deadly or non-deadly). Speaking of self-defense:
    MISSING:
    In your EDC _Survival On Purpose_ is a *_non-lethal tool._* Why?
    The chances of using deadly force (if you a capable mentally) are very, very rare. Not saying don't carry, what I am saying is -
    Less than 1% of self-defense involves deadly force. Most self-defense is non-deadly and against animals.
    Shooting someone is a BIG thing so please, please for your bank account, marriage, job, and mental health use deadly force as a very last method.
    Buy *_pepper spray_* or *_pepper gel_* for a great and very popular with civilians, police, & military as it works very well for non-lethal self-defense.
    Carry pepper products for self-defense everyday and you will be protected the other 99% of the time.
    PS:
    Never leave you gun, locked up or not in your vehicles, *_never._* Truck guns are a thing of the past. Cars, trucks, etc. are broken into, are stolen, & carjacked. Leaving firearms in vehicles is a main reason criminals become *_armed & dangerous criminals._*

      @SurvivalOnPurpose  3 года назад

      I have a tactical pen and a bright flashlight for non-lethal. And there are certain times I have to go into a courthouse to buy a construction permit where I have to lock my pistol in my vehicle. This is not a perfect world.

  • @longbow5423

    I don't know that seems like an awful lot of stuff to edc. 2 guns, med kit, flashlight etc etc. I usually carry a handgun and frankly most of the time its a SCCY 9. I find it just a good economical type of s.d. handgun. Usually carry it owb over my right rear pocket. Always a folder and a good folder too. Right now trending towards a CQC 970 or 7b by EKI or a FirstEdge drop point a.o. folder. Then a wallet and car keys. Sometimes my cell phone cause I hate the friggin things but they are in this day and age a necessity. I find a good stiff leather belt to work best but I also have a heavy duty made from conveyor belt material. Ok that's it stay safe
    PS Forgot to mention the conveyor belt is usually only worn when I carry my .44mag when stump shooting with my longbow. just sayin

    What’s the point of extra firearm if you don’t live in high crime rate area or travel to such areas

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  2 года назад

      The same point as a primary firearm, just in case. The sad reality is that all crime does not occur in a “high crime area”. Far too many people suddenly find the area they are in become a “High crime area”. One major reason to carry a second firearm is to have the ability to arm an unarmed companion if the need arises.
