Hate or love 343's halo. But you can't deny, that both Halo 4 and 5 had really good Soundtracks. Nothing takes away from the Halo theme, nothing, but something about Halo 4's 117 track is so impacting. Hopes to H.I having a great soundtrack 🙌🏼
Even though they’re indisputedly a huge step back from Marty O’Donnell (no surprise there considering Marty is a god), halo 4 and 5 had reasonably decent OSTs. IMO, it’s the only positive of halo 5
I felt the story and epicness of Halo 4 and 5 had the potential to surpass the original trilogy, but people were crying so much about it that 343 scrapped Halo 6 and made Halo Infinite instead :( that's like if Mass Effect skipped Mass effect 3 and just went ME 1, 2 and then right into Andromeda.
My dude they can barely get custom games working in 2 years, you think they have the time and will ever put in the actual effort of making DLCs that aren't just store items? Unfortunately, that's a crackpot dream.
I love how both versions of the Mantis theme Don't sound that heroic they sound more stressful I wish someone would re-edit the two of these songs together to make it build as a stressful song and not as a heroic song.
Sorry im late, but what I found interesting is that if you went into Halo 5 warzone and requested a Mantis, this theme would play. Thought that was really epic!
For all the gripes I have with this game, I absolutely ADORE THOSE SANGHEILI MISSIONS and their accompanying music. If I could have a whole game focusing on the Blooding years/Post Schism I would be a happy man.
2:14 If we create a weaponized variant of a speaker, This is going to be the most powerful dense soundwaves anyone has ever seen, not because it's loud, but it hits really hard.
There's something about 343's Halo that I like just as much as Bungie's Halo. I feel like this art style should've been in a spinoff in the far future of the Halo universe though, no Chief, just a completely new story. In fact, Microsoft should've made 343 start with a spinoff, then return to the original trilogy to make Halo 4 with all their feedback to get used to the community. The reason Halo: Reach isn't a problem with its art style change is that it's a spinoff and the change isn't (from what I know) lore.
@@GronGrinder Where'd you hear that skirmishers went extinct? They're just another type of jackal and appear several times post-war in the extended universe. Perhaps your confusing them with the Moas (the ostrich things running around in Reach), now THOSE essentially went extinct...happens when their home habitat is glassed and people like to eat 'em. As far as brutes and skirmishers not being in successive games, the brutes (to my knowledge) do not serve in great numbers aboard the Covenant fleet that pursued the Pillar of Autumn to Halo. For the skirmishers, there's no direct reason, other than they're just a lot less prevelant than their jackal brethren within the Covenant, though many skirmishers are known to serve as shipmasters. It's also worth noting that the EU also mentions both drones and engineers as present during the events of CE, though they're confined to the ships they belong to (drones are also noted as being exellent handymen and utilized as such, except when engineers are present)
While this track really doesn't fit into the rest of Halo, it perfectly encapsulates the multiplayer. A fight to the death between the strongest soldiers humanity has to offer. While it has only been used for Firefight, I think it fits perfectly as the music in-between rounds, before a round starts, when one ends... I mean just imagine sitting in the loading screen before the match starts, and being greeted by 0:56, and the round ultimately starting at 1:25
Can tell everyone on this thread Has actually played halo 5 and seen how incredible it is, versus all the other idiots who called it the worst because they heard it from someone. Im one of the biggest halo fans ever, and 5 is definitely my favorite. Nothing more intense than Warzone
I'll be *that* guy. I like Mantis better than this version. I'm really happy this is in Halo 5 though, and I hope there is a version of it in Infinite!
Halo: Oh no! A mantis! Plasma Pistol and Echidna: No Prob! Overwatch: Oh no! Supercharged Rienhart! Mcree Flash grenade and Ana's sleep dart: No Prob! Maybe we aren't so different after all
I will say that this is a huge step back from Marty O’Donnel’s work (which was kinda expected considering Marty is a literal god with music), calling it generic is kind of invalid. At least it has noticeable beats (like at 0:57 or 1:36) that enhance the gameplay and can get the blood pumping
Literally Goosebumps when i boarded the Mantis and I heard that theme from Halo 4 come back.
Maicol Baay LOL
"Coward humans fighting in a walking death machine! WHO EVEN DOES THAT?!"
The grunts mech

just use a plasma pistol and spam charge shots at the mantis, then tell your mates to bombard him with fule rod cannons while you plasma lock him :3
