So lucky they had to play a very late night game following an overtime match between Tennessee and Purdue that resulted in a 10:30 start that greatly favored west coast Oregon in the Sweet 16. So lucky they faced the two hottest teams in the tournament (Oregon and Auburn) and the hottest shooter (Edwards) on an otherworldly run. So lucky they also had to face the #1 defense in the country in the championship and still hung 85 on them. Yes, they got lucky a couple times---you don't win a natty without some luck along the way, regardless of how good you are--but they also had to overcome some serious headwinds and a tournament schedule that by chance or design seemed intended to disfavor them.

Focused All Day I’ve watched all the interviews where Cam gives credit to the coaches and players believing in him and encouraging him to continue shooting even when he was slumping. He’s got all the support he needs and has really improved.

It’s not really Tre’s role to be the scorer on this team with three other main options. His shooting hasn’t been consistent this year but he absolutely has that playmaking ability like Tyus and can score when the team needs it. Love these four freshmen.

They beat a great team but I still feel like they didn’t play their best. Timid at times and zion didn’t have a game to his full potential. He made great plays but not the dominant Zion that I feel he can be. Barrett was throwin up prayers at times in the paint but hit some huge 3 pters. Jones was calm and collected as usual. Reddish played ok but no way near what I feel he can play. But they got the win. Gotta iron out some wrinkles.

Dee Tre’s got a high iq and understands when teams are overplaying Zion and RJ and has that playmaking ability to score when the team needs him to. It’s a relief to see Cam playing up to his normal standard on offense.

He had 1 foot out of bounds when he passed it back in, with the other foot off ofcthe ground. That's considered out of bounds during the inbound. Nothing to call there.

This was a good ass game by Duke.
They beat a great team but I still feel like they didn’t play their best. Timid at times and zion didn’t have a game to his full potential. He made great plays but not the dominant Zion that I feel he can be. Barrett was throwin up prayers at times in the paint but hit some huge 3 pters. Jones was calm and collected as usual. Reddish played ok but no way near what I feel he can play. But they got the win. Gotta iron out some wrinkles.

Teams are starting to throw bodies at Zion so he won’t have a great game every game. Now is the time where they need Cam and Tre the most because they got to takes some pressure off of Zion and RJ
Dee They did have 15 turnovers and missed more FTs.
Dee Tre’s got a high iq and understands when teams are overplaying Zion and RJ and has that playmaking ability to score when the team needs him to. It’s a relief to see Cam playing up to his normal standard on offense.
